Well appointed 2 bedroom self catering unit on 2 levels with lovely outside deck on ground level and fantastic town and sea views from master bedroom on upper level. Spiral staircase to bedrooms on second level quite a challenge.
Take it easy. Only car has to be parked in road which was actually a concern.
For 3600 rand it would have been nice if they had backup for load shedding as we arrived to no electricity. Otherwise everything else was great.
We chose this particular Paters Haven unit because there are two bedrooms, my mum and I went on holiday together in Paternoster and we usually sleep in two bedrooms as she has trouble sleeping and if I move or roll over in the at night it wakes her up. We therefore chose the unit with two bedrooms (which means 4 people can sleep there) for R1600 instead of the two other units that only have one room each for R970 and R990 respectively. When we got there, only the big bedroom's bed had been made, not the other room, there was no bedding in the second bedroom. We assumed they just forgot to put up the second room's bedding. I then just slept in the second room and the next day my mother asked the woman who owned the guest house if they could bring us the other room's bedding. She was very rude to my mother and said they sent us an email saying only one room's bedding would be there and we only paid for one room, not two (so we can't use the other room ). I then looked again at the e-mail that was sent, it only said: "The main bedroom is made up as king-size." I can also forward this e-mail to you if necessary. According to them, we should have deduced from that statement that we can only use the one room (because we are two people, not 4), even though we paid the full price for two rooms - R1600 per night. It makes no sense from that statement that we needed to know. The small bathroom also had no towels, we were too scared to ask for a towel because they might say we are not allowed to use the bathroom? When we checked out they also started an argument with me because I was sleeping in the second bedroom. The whole experience was very unpleasant and I will not be staying at Paters Haven again.
Owners, accommodation and hospitality was very special and appreciated greatly in my time there.

Paters Haven offers the perfect location in Paternoster. The view of the sea from the balcony is picturesque. The room was extremely comfortable and decor stylish. We really appreciated the thoughtful extras to make the stay more enjoyable. The comfortable walk to and along the beach was one of the highlights of our visit.

Our hosts were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The position of the guesthouse is fabulous and the view from our balcony, overlooking the sea was magnificent. The room is quite small, but it is well kitted out with thoughtful touches such as blankets for the chairs outside and our hosts even had a toothbrush for me (they keep a stock!). The shower was great and everthing as spotlessly clean. They did warn that the breakfast was continental type and our host Marlene bakes her own bread but I think we would go into town for breakfast next time, as we both enjoy a hearty protein breakfast. Overall, though, a fabulous stay and we would definitely go back!

Very tidy with friendly owner. Unfortunately, the stairs to the rooms are a nightmare, especially for older people, and you have to struggle to get your bags upstairs. Also no safe parking, you have to park on the street.

We had a great stay, think for 5 star rating I would personally look into upgrading cutlery. With our barbecue, we think we would have preferred sharper knives. Other than that, we couldn't find any fault.

Paters Haven serves as a lovely stopover, especially as a hub from which to explore the rest of Paternoster and the West Coast. The neighborhood is quiet, and slightly out of town on the way to Cape Columbine. Amenities are well equipped, with everything needed for a comfortable stay, although on the slightly expensive side.
We would have preferred a living room at ground level, stairs are steep and narrow to room.

Paters Haven really is a beautiful place and really cannot be faulted. Stairs to the top are a bit difficult and carrying bags up is a challenge. Well located.
We stayed in room B1, it's a very neat unit and we slept very well there. There's a small kitchen with a bit of a sea view, but not much of a view. Every morning we received a delicious breakfast with freshly baked bread, fruit and yogurt. It's a pleasant place to stay.
The only negative feedback is the parking for more than two vehicles. The place is too small for that.

The unit we lived in is extremely neat and clean and very well maintained. I have n.a.v. the photo on LekkeSlaap chose the place and saw in my mind's eye that we would see the sea from our bedroom in the morning. We could see the sea, but from the kitchen area when we enjoyed the home-baked sandwich.
We had a great stay in the self-catering unit. Private, clean, with everything needed. The view was absolutely fantastic.
The location of the place makes you feel unsafe when you arrive. There is no safe off-street parking for cars. The stairs to the top floor is ridiculously uncomfortable. The second bedroom had no cupboards to hang your clothes and was painfully small. The heat-setting for the hot water in the shower was obviously on "super economical" and not suitable. It was impossible for 4 adults to shower in the morning with enough hot water. No heating of any sort - not even electric blankets.
Hostess and gentleman very friendly and hospitable. Slept very well with an incredible view... Best coffee and fresh, freshly baked bread. Would definitely recommend it.
