Montagu is a small town situated in the Langeberg Mountains and is the most peaceful setting, ideal for a getaway. Peace Cottage has the most amazing views.

Place was clean and clean comfortable and owners went out of their way with coffee tea rusks and yoghurt everything you could possibly need and extra. Highly recommended. Truly comfortable and clean. Owners very friendly and helpful. Place was truly well organised with a table to put your suitcase on that nobody else thinks of and the kitchen was well stocked with muesli yoghurt milk and rusks. Fantastic.

We had a very peaceful stay, the name does the establishment justice, "Peace Cottage" only one small awkwardness as we had dinner delivered from a local eatery and I was not sure whether we had to notify the owner prior that someone would be dropping some food off as windows and doors were locked the moment the individual came and I had to collect it. I felt a bit uncomfortable with that but otherwise not bad at all.

Hostess did not welcome or even greet guests and was unfit on demand for use of pool with ugly attitude in front of her guest. Only small braai bowl available for braai, no access to larger braai area. Place more suitable for older people. Previous conversations on the phone with owner about inquiries and in person were 2 different versions.

Really enjoyed the stay in a neat self-catering unit with everything you need. Asked for safe parking, but had to park on the pavement which I didn't consider to be safe.

A nice place to stay if you just want to stay overnight, we were there for 4 nights and no housekeeping, no cleaning service/room service for 4 days, no clean towels etc. Wasn't happy with outside parking either. In SA, no one can think that everything is safe anymore. I don't want to harm the host unnecessarily, but these are facts. Also no place for a woman to do make-up properly, mirrors and lighting not good enough. Cupboards inside the cottage are full of host's own things, must be open for use. Generally speaking a good overnight place for 2 guests. It is self-catering.
The Cottage was to our liking in the beautiful town of Montagu. Owners helpful with als and friendly. Inside was so clean and there is a woman's hand that took care of detail. Muesli and yogurt were optional in the Cottage, just a surprise. I highly recommend the Cottage!
