The spacious wooden cottage consists of 3 bedrooms. The first bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, while the second and third bathrooms share the use of a full bathroom. A fully equipped kitchen, living area, outdoor braai, and an oven are also available. Guests also have access to a private pool. Room 1 consists of a double bed with an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet, and basin. Room 2 consists of a queen size-bed and room 3 consists of a double bed with a shared bathroom fitted with a shower, bath, toilet, and basin. Bedding is provided. Each room has air conditioning. Guests are requested to bring their own swimming towels.
Guests have access to communal facilities such as the kitchen and living area.
The open-plan communal kitchen is equipped with a fridge, as well as cutlery and crockery. Tea, coffee, and sugar for business travellers are provided. Meals can be enjoyed at the dining table inside or outside on the veranda. Breakfast can be arranged on request at an additional cost during the weekend. Guests can relax in the communal lounge which has a TV with DStv channels.
There is an undercover veranda with braai facilities and the necessary braai equipment. A cleaning service is available on request at an additional cost over weekends. Pets are welcome with prior arrangements. The cottage is fenced and pet-friendly.
The accommodation has lights and a gas stove that guests can use during loadshedding.
Approximately one hour from the cottage there is a hiking trail to the highest peak in North West with loads of pools, rock slides, and waterfalls along the trail at an additional cost.
There is a golf course just 4 km from the cottage where the Platinum Open is played.

Our first break after Covid with our 4 foot child and what a blast. She enjoyed her daily walks immensely. What you see is what you get. Thank you Petro for the chats and the friendly service.
Pecan Cottage is conveniently located to visit other destinations as well. The turn-off road to Pecan Cottage is just awful (road gone and massive potholes) and makes the drive from the cottage to Mooinooidorpie unpleasant. We would greatly appreciate it if they could take care of the road please. Furthermore, it was really nice and we enjoyed the time there. We will definitely visit Pecan Cottage again in the future.

We loved staying here. It was a great place to relax, with the pool, braai, swing, outdoor shower, comfortable bed, and super comfortable couch. Also loved the little extras and everything was done with care and practicality. It was very peaceful and close to some nice hikes. The only thing to note is that the cottage inside - the temperature is very similar to the outside temperature.

The cottage is in situated in a pecan orchard on a small, working farm with the stoep facing east - so amazing sunrises are guaranteed. The cottage has everything you need and more so all we needed to bring was our food and drink, swimming towels (there is a small swimming pool) and clothes. Pecan Cottage is a pet friendly venue and our 3 pooches had the best time ever. Petro and At made us really feel at home and Petro is the most generous and caring hostess anyone could ever hope for. Our chats were fantastic, thank you!
My dog boys and I once again enjoyed it so much. Walks to the river with all the dogs - they had such a good time. Top notch hospitality. Nice and quiet, DStv, aircon, swimming pool and many more that make the stay even more comfortable and enjoyable. We will definitely visit again.

Pecan Cottage is the perfect weekend getaway. Especially if you have dogs. It's not too far from JHB, but far enough. The green pecan orchard was an unexpectedly lovely view, and so well kept. Very importantly - the bed was incredibly comfortable.
We enjoyed the weekend so much, and Aunt Petro and Uncle At were incredibly hospitable. Not short of anything for a moment. See you again soon!

Aunt Petro & Uncle At are soulful people, and they made our visit unforgettable! The tranquility of farm life leaves you with no choice but to relax, and 3 year old boy didn't sit still for a moment, there was so much to explore! We will definitely visit Pecan Cottage again, it was a great break from the hustle and bustle of the city!
Hospitality is bubbling over here. No shortage of anything. The outdoor shower and forest toilet are conditionally something to give a city lad a new perspective on life, wonderful. Petro always made sure that we felt absolutely at home. Most delicious was sitting on the porch, looking at the Pecan trees far into the distance and then it feels like you are in a valley of glory. A home away from home, if not better!
Pecan Cottage was in one word: breathtaking. This is the cutest cottage nestled among the pecan trees. The owners are fantastic and they have truly thought of everything. When we walked in the rugby was already on the TV, the silver clean cottage was equipped with everything, from coffee and tea like a normal guest house, to a full kitchen with a black pot for that Saturday night potgie. Furthermore, the braai was already packed full of wood and ready for a braai! The bathroom was as clean and complete as anyone could dream of, but the extra outdoor toilet and shower is any bushveld lover's dream. We will definitely be back and I would recommend Pecan Cottage to anyone.
For me, it's all about pet-friendly places - and my two dog boys enjoyed their holes out. I am really very impressed with their hospitality and safety. Everything I needed. We are definitely going back there.

Peaceful woodland/farm feel. Here you can relax. Children and animals safe. Friendly people and delicious farm breakfast. The outdoor shower was very cool, loved it! Highly recommended.

Tranquil and very friendly, the dogs also truly felt at home and had the time of their lives. For a break away not far from home I can recommend visiting. I will definitely go again. I managed to relax which is something I am mostly not capable of. The welcoming platter was such a pleasant surprise. The owners chats were indeed very interesting and enjoyable. The outside shower and the outside bread oven of course had to be tried and that was so worth while. I felt right at home and could have stayed there much longer than just the 4 days.
The place was very welcoming. The cottage was amazing and very neat. Lots of books to read and for kids too.
