17 guests' feedbackWe attended the Mighty Men Conference in Ashton and the accommodation was of a very high standard. It is advertised as contractor type accommodation and not suitable for family holidays. The house was suitable for our purposes with a bed, kitchen, braai, shower and WiFi. We had a nice stay.
Mattresses are laid through. Might as well have slept on the floor. Between 3 rooms there was not one double bed. Could have at least said that. In the year there is good everywhere, e.g. build rubbish, pieces of boards etc, around. Kitchen is really not very clean and tidy. Cabinets mold and fall apart. Bowls in cupboards are boarded up and dirty. One feels creepy to use anything in kitchen. I will definitely not stay there again or recommend anyone to stay there. It was very disappointing. We were just the previous weekend for exactly the same price in Oudtshoorn at a closer place. There is not even close to anything to compare! No what, I'm very disappointed!
The stay was excellent. Friendly neighbour and helpful as well as the owners. The communication was excellent between the owner and myself which was a great plus.
A table outside at the braai would be nice. There is not enough space to put bowls on.
We were there for a school reunion weekend, which was fully booked. So we just showered and slept there. Kitchen cupboards need attention - even though we didn't use them, the rest of the house met our requirements. We only used the kettle and fridge - so can't comment on the rest of the electrics, although they looked very good.
Nice and spacious. Was glad that there was a bath too and not just a shower.
The pictures are not what the place looks like now, almost no blinds work. Beds were rock hard and the house had a musty smell.
On arrival we were very kindly received by the owner who took us to the house on the opposite side of their primary residence. Our door and windows were open and we were very grateful for that, but found small bugs on the floors and assumed it was because of the open windows. Left early the next morning, but everything closed to avoid the same. Came back in the evening and found it everywhere again. That's when we realized it was an "infestation". Outside the house are 2 compost piles where the bugs come from. I spoke to the owner and he said he would definitely look into the problem. I also showed him that the kitchen cabinets were also very dirty as well as under the couches and the bathroom. Looking at the cleanliness of the house and the infestation I am sure it will be a very comfortable place to sleep for guests. It just needs a little attention.
On arrival we were warmly welcomed and shown to our house, it was clean, cosy and peaceful! We had a lovely stay, no problems and no issues. The owners were friendly and attentive without being in your way, the house was clean and safe, definitely would stay there again, was an absolutely blissful and relaxing weekend and a much needed break after the Covid year.
Pecan Place itself was safe, neat, tidy and good value for money. The only problem we had was that there was no light situated at the braai area which makes a night-time braai a bit difficult. The location of Pecan place is brilliant as it is situated close to the local Spar supermarket, so you can afford to forget some things at home. Our overall experience was brilliant and we will definitely recommend it to others.
The house was well stocked with everything needed to make your stay an enjoyable one.
We were looking for a base from which to explore the surrounding areas on our bikes and a bit further afield in our car. The venue was a house, with the basics covered, and was ideal for what we needed, somewhere to braai, sleep and venture out from!
Beds are horrible and extremely hard. If that was better I would definitely recommend it but we couldn’t sleep on those beds.
There were only two problems. On Friday evening when it rained, the water overflowed the gutter where the barbecue was. What the men suggest is that a canopy or something should be done at the braai area for when it rains. They must have stood in the rain under an umbrella to braai. The stove (plates) didn't work either. They couldn't make breakfast on Saturday morning.
Very well stocked with everything you can need and more.
Suitable for short term travel.
The photos presented on Lekkeslaap does tie up to the place itself. I expected it to be a bit warmer and more convenient. The shower door would not close properly, the cupboards that did open, smelt badly, the interior needs a good paint and well as the couches need a good clean. They could look at a double bed in the main bedroom as well as supply more hangers and if possible towels, as there was none, and I was not aware of this, thus had to lend some from my in-laws.
