Very cute house. Close to the sea. The path down to the private beach is just a bit difficult to walk up and down for a pregnant woman or people with very small children. The house is well equipped with necessities such as toilet paper, soap, tea etc. The house also has a very nice sea view. It is well planned to spend nice family time or time with friends. Plenty of seating for gatherings around the fire and by the pool. There are quite a lot of mosquitoes. Maybe just something to sum it up. The upper bedroom has a "spa bath" which is very cute. Both bathrooms are full bathrooms with a shower and bath. We had a great stay and will definitely go again.

Our stay was very relaxing, peaceful and therapeutic. Such a beautiful view of the sea from the house, and the kids enjoyed themselves in the pool. We didn't want to leave. Will definitely be booking again in the future, and I've had so many enquiries already about the house.

Thank you so much for a beautiful stay. My kids definitely took full advantage of the beautiful clean pool, and the rooms were all so comfortable. I loved the decor, art, and beautiful garden. The jacuzzi was definitely a nice surprise. The kitchen had everything you need. As a private family, we appreciated the peacefulness. The online pics do not do the accommodation any justice. PS: Make sure to bring enough water, drinks, and food since the nearest shop is 17 km away.
Wonderful location, view and space.
We had a wonderful stay at Pelican House. The view and all-round beauty are just awesome. If we could bottle up Grotto Bay's serenity, everywhere we go, it would be pure bliss. Thanks for a wonderful stay. We loved the beach being so near the home, as well as the splash pool for my little one, who just couldn't get enough of the water.
It is a comfortable house for a group of family. The braai was so rusty and also the loose braai that we used our own. Messages and communication were not there at all. Strange people knocked on our door early in the morning looking for the Cathy.
Fantastic stay, 3 full weeks and we loved it. Wonderful location and quiet peaceful estate. Beautiful sunsets. Kitchen needs some maintenance (a dishwasher would be helpful) and the house needs a deep clean. Staff at the house not super eager to help or go the extra mile. We will definitely return. Aircon or ceiling fans are needed, especially in the upstairs loft.
Pelican House is such a lovely place. Als was as shown in photos. The view was the best. Will definitely return again. They might get a more comfortable lounge set, but otherwise everything was perfect.

The nature reserve was beautiful and peaceful. Lovely surroundings. The house is built on a perfect location with direct view of the spectacular sunset, wildlife at your door step and nature at its best. Would definitely recommend Pelican House.
Tranquility, sea view, beautiful garden, beautiful sea, swimming pool very nice, with braai facilities with large open area in the house. Safety tops. Was definitely worth every penny.
The best vacation and the house was the best.
Great atmosphere despite bad weather conditions. We had a nice stay and everything we needed was available. The distance from the nearest shop is probably the only problem. Should have driven to Melkbosstrand, but this is possibly a problem and an advantage at the same time!
Beautiful and peaceful place with a very beautiful sunset. Everything was precise and neat. Just a recommendation is that the photo with the wood for outdoor barbecue be updated as we were under the impression that there was wood available and that the geyser was pre-installed. We didn't find out why the shower was so cold until the next day. But we really enjoyed it.
Everything was lovely and we had a great stay. The house had everything that we needed. Big shout out for the fact that cutlery, glassware and crockery were spotless.

We had a great stay at Pelican House. Conveniently located between Melkbos and Yzerfontein. Enough room for everyone, fantastic braai area with pool and large patio.
We absolutely loved our stay. The children were safe and had so much fun, it's a lovely house to relax and have fun knowing the children are safe in the front and the backyard. The house was well equipped and Mary was very accommodating. We will definitely be back.

The house is beautiful. From the arrival outside to inside I was just amazed. Everything was perfect for the weekend.
Pelican house was amazing I'm so glad that I booked that place. To start your new year in a beautiful house like that amazing views everything was perfect. I'm not one to revisit a place but pelican house I'm definitely visiting again and my stay would be longer. Another highlight, the sunsets is gorgeous walk on the beach after 6, so relaxing. I highly recommend Pelican House.
A comfortable indoor lounge suite is needed. Otherwise a lovely place.
We had a lovely weekend at Pelican house. Everything we needed was there. The view is beautiful and the fireplace was wonderful in the cold.
It's a lovely stoep for hanging out in any weather. Great for kids with the wall and gates that close. Just notice that there is a beehive on the side of the house. Luckily no one was allergic, but it was very uncomfortable with children stepping on the bees and 2 being stung. Remove the nest. The house is not suitable for people with allergies, Grotto Bay is not close to hospitals.

Upon arrival we were greeted with a warm & welcoming smile into a spotless clean home with comfy beds, fresh linen and soft towels. Everything we needed was available plus more. Sitting on the patio was peaceful and relaxing where all you could hear were the birds chirping in the trees and waves in the background. Lovely enclosed and well maintained garden. Beach is just a short walk from the house.
The house really surpassed our expections. We had so much fun and enjoyed every moment.

The accommodation was picture perfect. The only downfall is that I booked the accommodation for my daughter and 5 of her friends as a 21st getaway gift. They were so excited to use the hot water pool due to the cold weather, just to be disappointed because the pool never heated up. They also experienced problems with the tripping of the plugs.
