We could only spend the night, but were carried on our hands. Would have liked to use the pool, but the time was lacking. The bed sleeps wonderfully and the shower facilities are luxurious. Breakfast is a wonderful experience and we would love to stay there again.
Nice room. Very clean and tidy, tastefully decorated. All I can complain about is the room might get a bit warm it needs a better standing fan, it's only R400 at Checkers and there was no hand towel for me and my husband. Breakfast was the best I have ever had at a hotel or any other guest house. I was rested and had a great swim, very friendly owners and we will book there again.
From our arrival to departure, everything was of excellent quality. Breakfast and pool were off the books.
The rooms are very neat, clean and modern, we stayed in the new part. The breakfast offers a large variety, from traditional, fruit plate, cheese and cold meats to a salmon and cream cheese omelette, all of which is included in the price. Stefan is a man of many talents, he is not only a qualified chef, but also makes his own wine. He has a lot of knowledge of the area as he grew up there. They also arranged a sea-kayak excursion for us. It was really a very pleasant stay at Penguino and we will definitely stay there again.
Lovely guest house is centrally located. Everything is well done and of course the chef, Niki's husband. 's food and hospitality are top notch. Can highly recommend the place.

It was very nice to meet a quality person like Nikki as a hostess. The zest for life with which she operates her guest house makes it for sure the best guest house I have ever stayed at. By that I mean it was very clean and tidy and good bedding and everything you could need is in rooms. We got delicious breakfast every morning. Will definitely stay there again.
Accommodation was outstanding, rooms very well equipped, rooms and bathrooms are very modern with daily cleaning service. Each room has a small fridge and fresh water and milk are provided every day, rooms are also equipped with coffee and tea facilities. Breakfast is of excellent quality. It's a three-course meal. We only ate breakfast most days and every day there is a different main meal. It was out of the books every day! Lovely pool with fresh mint water served poolside. Host and hostess are fantastic people, very friendly and hospitable and felt more like we were visiting friends. I will never stay anywhere else in Hermanus again. A bonus is of course that the house is directly opposite the sea with a promenade along the sea on one side to the waterfront and on the other to the harbour. Most of the time we walked everywhere we wanted to be. They get 7 stars from me!

We were kindly received by Stefan and Nikki. They told us where to eat, what to see and told us about the promenade by the sea which was just breathtaking. The room was perfect, clean and tidy and everything we needed. Stefan's homemade wine is delicious and he made us the most delicious breakfast ─ really top notch. Penguino Guesthouse was an amazing guesthouse that accommodated us and our family of 7. We were greeted by Stephan, the owner, with great warmth and hospitality that exceeded our expectations. Stephan made us amazing award winning breakfasts that we enjoyed tremendously. The house was a great refuge from the unexpected cold and rainy weather that we encountered by having a very nice bbq room which we lit a fire in and cooked our delicious dinners with our kids. The whole experience was out of this world offering us a very warm and cozy time with our kids with its wonderful spaces and service by the owner and his staff.
Stefan and Nikki are the perfect hosts. Our accommodation was excellent. Stefan is an outstanding chef and both he and Nikki will give you the best advise on where to go, what to see and what to eat. We will definitely be returning to stay. 5 stars from me.

We slept at Penguino Guest House for the first night of our short honeymoon in Hermanus. Nikki put red roses and chocolates in our room, and that evening made us a reservation at a lovely restaurant. We didn't have to worry about anything, and had a great time relaxing. Thank you for your effort and hospitality!
The room was large and comfortable with a separate entrance. Ample parking available. The owners are wonderful, friendly people, always available and happy to help and give advice about the area. The breakfast was the highlight and not to be missed! There was a payment point available which was very convenient.

The guest house offers all the facilities tourists look for. If you are brave enough, you can also cool off in the pool, which is private. The breakfast was something we looked forward to each morning. The added bonus was that the hosts was the cook. And there's a surprise on the menu every time!

Excellent location, walking distance from restaurants, supermarkets, etc. Hospitality by Nikki and Stefan was brilliant and last of all, the breakfast! There was a "special" each morning, such as blueberry pancakes or waffle and ice cream, among others.
We were met by Niki. She made us feel welcome from the start, the room was of high standard. She recommended some great eating places. The breakfast offered excellent, wide variety. Again recommendations were given for the rest of our trip. It was a good choice. Thank you, five stars are not enough. I will give you 10/10. We will definitely visit again.
