Wonderful accommodation.
Very nice and quiet. The host is lovely and very accommodating. The rooms are beautiful and had a well-equipped kitchen. Perfect location, close to the Preller and 2 malls.

I was in Bloem to attend some classes at the university. With peace of mind, I could complete work at night in peace and quiet. The unit I stayed in was comfortably equipped, clean and tidy. The accommodation is clean and tidy with DStv, WiFi and a few pieces of furniture that I would like to take with me! Very tastefully furnished. The owners are very hospitable. I would stay there again anytime. The host himself unlocked and showed where everything is, where the lights are turned on, how the entrance gate, air conditioning, TV and shower work. You don't get that often!

Had a good night's sleep at Pepper Tree. Spacious apartment and very well equipped with all the necessary kitchen utensils.
Our 5 day stay was excellent. After a long day at a conference we were able to return to a clean and serviced room. Our night's rest was good, as the area is very quiet. Maudene is a perfect hostess who was always able to support us with advice and action.

Wow. What can I say, everything one looks for in a self-catering unit. Quiet peaceful environment. We had so much fun there. Maudene was a wonderful hostess. Everything you need in one room to feel at home. My private secret little garden was the nicest thing, sitting and resting in silence to stay another night and forget your shopping list. It's been a long time since I've forgotten about time and the rush of city and just had a nice, cosy stay.

Owner who received us was very curt. My husband was greeted with "who are you?". He also did not know which room was booked by us, the full amount had already been paid 14 days before the time and you are so poorly received.

Perfect, value for money. Will certainly stay here again. Curtains could be a little darker, it is slightly transparent, as well as blinds in front of door, it feels as though someone is watching you, and as woman alone you don't want that. Thank you for everything!

This was advertised as a 4 star. Found the accommodation neat, tidy, clean but very basic. Did not find it wow.
As we mentioned we were moved to La Roc. The DStv was out of order. The kids had to sleep on the couches, really uncomfortable. Our bed made creaking noises, so much so we were afraid to move. The bedlamps and the plugs didn't work. Maudene offered to give us our money back but I'm more concerned about the fact that the rooms were not inspected beforehand to make sure everything was in working order. There wasn't enough sugar for a family of 4. Friendly service though.
If I'm ever in Bloemfontein again I will definitely stay here again. Very tidy and Maudene is so friendly!
It was a lovely break for my Matric class' 20 year reunion. The Cottage is located close to the school as well as the shopping centres. Everything was neat, private, clean and neatly equipped in the apartment. Thank you very much and I will definitely recommend you.

After an operation at a local hospital, I was stranded in front of the gate where the gardener informed me that no one was home. Eventually a cleaner arrived, she opened the gate and disappeared without a word. The place is basically only a room in someone's backyard, but at least it is neat. Only the mats were a bit dirty and the tap in the bathroom is loose. The owner never introduced herself and was very curt. The lanterns on the side tables had flat batteries. I forgot mine there, but no effort was made to even send a text message about it. I will be in Bloemfontein again next week, but I will definitely be staying somewhere else.
The shower is small and high above the floor and dangerous to get in. The unit on the right wasn't really "friendly" for a person who has trouble moving, with a small wall, paving, rocks and 2 steps to the entrance. It is difficult in our opinion to get in and out. The bathroom is really small. Other facilities are basic and not wonderful. We felt safe, but still fel the unit's door should be on the front, providing easier access.
We stayed over in several places this past December holiday, and Pepper Tree Cottage took our breath away. There are certainly many places that can go and learn from them. Everything is modern, clean and tidy. The bed in the master bedroom provided a great night's rest after a long day's drive from George. We will never spend the night in another place in Bloemfontein again! Pepper Tree Cottage can be recommended with confidence.

Everything was spotless. There are extra kitchen accessories e.g. a frying pan etc. which will come in handy if you are staying there for a longer period of time. The private outdoor seating area is also very nice. We were able to rest wonderfully after a long day on the road. We will definitely stay here again.
