The guest house is neat and nice for an overnight destination. They are pet-friendly and have a large lawn for the dogs and walking paths where you can walk with them. One can also order food from the hotel and they deliver it to the guest house.

Peaceful surroundings and friendly service.
Accommodation was very nice and the hostess very friendly, we received a fantastic welcome and she told us more and showed us about the place. Would definitely recommend to anyone as it's value for money.
We were looking for a safe and quiet place to stay overnight after a wedding, but got much more than that. We were received kindly, rooms were neat and clean, even got mosquito nets to use. Enjoyed a great night's rest after a late night. We will definitely use Petronella's services again in the future.
We had a very pleasant two-night stay which started with a very friendly welcome. The breakfast was delicious and more than enough. There is absolutely nothing negative, except that it would have been lovely to stay longer if possible. Even though it is very close to town, with Clarence and Golden Gate close enough for day trips, it has a farm feel and has beautiful surroundings to relax in. I would (and have already) recommended it to our friends.
Suggestion: Family rooms to have separate bedrooms for the kids!
The guest house has lovely gardens that create a peaceful atmosphere. Beautiful views of a pond and mountains, with safe walking paths. We had a wonderful stay.
Nice comfortable place, well located.
If I could make a suggestion, I would recommend that a fixed covered parking space be allocated to each residential unit. As it is now, guests who have more than one vehicle can occupy the covered parking and some guests' vehicles must then stand in the sun. After all, every guest pays the same amount and therefore deserves the same amenities.

I was there for my first wedding anniversary and asked them to help decorate the room. What I got was more than I expected.
Beautiful rustic venue with warm and welcoming hosts.
What a wonderful, peaceful place. We as sports fans enjoyed it so much, as everything was available. We went mountain biking, on the premises, and even along the dam that was nearby. Our child who does athletics was also able to practice on the track that was cut out on the premises, which is safe. We sailed on the dam with the canoes, and were also able to take pictures of the bird life there. It is close to Clarens which we went to visit. The fact that it is just outside the town makes the farm feel even more enjoyable for a break from the city. The owner and management are friendly and very helpful and George the dog just crawls deep into your heart. Will definitely visit again with all the activities available.
Found a place full of peace and sunshine for me and the new baby so we can recover. Far from the noise and obligations. The room was spacious, the cleaners were good and my time there was over too quickly.

It was so nice there. On the way home we spent the night there again. Breakfast was top notch and very cheap. We had already thought of spending the night there to visit Clarens very close by.

The room is spacious and tidy, the bathroom facilities clean and the owners went out of their way to accommodate us. We arrived late and were received very kindly. We were allowed to leave our vehicle and trailer there for 4 days without any further costs.
It was pleasant and affordable accommodation. Easy to find and a beautiful garden and area.
The area and the rooms are neat, and the people are friendly but there are some issues. The patio lights are really strong and they shine into the rooms - no block out curtains. The linen isn't 100% cotton. The shower was only lukewarm in the morning, not hot. My biggest issue, however, is the fact that the rooms aren't soundproof - the neighbours' activities woke us up during the night. And once you're awake you hear the traffic noise from the main road close by.
Will recommend it to anyone. Value for money and excellent service!

Very good overnight stay. Good location, neat, clean and quite safe. Only thing that bothered was the security light right above the door of the room which is glass and shined all night. Room was very light. Give option to switch light off or hang a thicker curtain.

The only comment is that the room was prepared for 4, while we booked for 5. And the rusk was only for 2! But what we asked for, we got! Thank you very much. We had a very nice overnight stay. Spacious facility for family with teenagers, who otherwise find it very difficult to find a place to sleep, or have to book two rooms. Great thought! Farm is very beautiful. Unfortunately we couldn't appreciate the nature, we didn't have enough time. Will spend the night there again!

My husband and I stayed at Petronella for three days for a much needed break, it was really the best choice we could have made. I was able to relax wonderfully at Petronella and also go fishing again. For my spouse, it was just as nice and peaceful and since Bethlehem is only a few minutes drive away, she could enjoy the variety of restaurants and shops there. We will certainly use Petronella's hospitality again. The facilities and service at Petronella are excellent and not expensive at all.
The bathroom is very cramped. The sliding door of the toilet is not very private.

Units neat and clean. Mattresses old and need new ones. Felt a bit unsafe.
The bedding was hostel-like, the pillows were flat and hard and the towels were clearly left over from the owner's own household. Not at all comparable to the value for money you would have lived on if you had already lived elsewhere.
