19 guests' feedbackIt is expensive and I expected more for the price. Quality of beds is poor. Facilities for making coffee and cleaning yourself are poor. There is not much to do, there is little wildlife. Game wardens' knowledge was good and they were friendly. Dinner was good.
From the moment we arrived we didn't feel any sense of welcome. This so called 4 star lodge had poor service from the start. They didn't assist us with our luggage on arrival, never came to clean the room or provide fresh towels. My wife asked the barman for a coffee (no other guests were around) and he told her it's down in the eating area. A better response would've been to go make her some coffee. Just a very unpleasant experience and I definitely won't return again and it's not 4 star in the slightest. It sucks to write a negative review but it was very poor to non existent from a service level and 4 star standards. Not worth the money.

Unfortunately, we were not impressed with the management of the lodge. They spoke poorly of other lodges in the same reserve. The staff is not well trained but they are incredibly friendly and will go out of their way for the guests, still they need a lot of training. The lodge is very tidy and tranquil.
What a lovely experience. The accommodation and meals were very good, but the staff need to be exhalted. They are always ready to help and make your stay an unforgettable one. It's been a long time since we met such friendly and hospitable people. It was literally "Your wish is my command!" Thank you to each and everyone who made our stay memorable. See you soon!
Pezulu was changing hands during our visit. It needs some renovation work, but look forward to seeing how it will change with the new owner! The food and service were fantastic!
We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay there, and would recommend the place to everyone, it was a fantastic experience and there was nothing better than sitting on the balcony on a swing chair looking out over the treetops.
Silence, silence no TV, radio we liked it very much. The excursions were just as fun ─ the game drive and the hiking trail. The house was nice and big, so much space. Very pretty.
Information on the website is misleading. The big five are not on site. It can only be viewed through game drives on neighboring farms. Outdoor showers are great, just a little cold and open for the winter. I suspect there is hunting in the immediate area and the wildlife is very scary and feral. The description also boasts of the bird population, we were disappointed. We were also harassed by barking dogs throughout the night and it is certainly not pleasant in the forest. Foreigners definitely get preferential treatment here.
Peaceful surroundings with only silence around you. A good break from all the hustle and bustle of the busy life around us every day. Rooms are lovely, but very hot. I would recommend that more fans should be placed in the houses.
The tree house with its outdoor shower, the cocktail at the lodge and lookout point, the drums announcing the dinner, the meal under moonlight and stars in the boma. It was one big festival. Many thanks to Pezulu who made every moment very special.

Air conditioning is a necessity in that kind of climate. There is a problem with the water pressure that makes showering a frustrating activity. Game drives for the Big 5 happen in other places that require a further trip, and this can be troublesome.
It's a clean place and some of the people working are very friendly, but I don't like clapping for my food or being silenced like a corporal to hear the menu. They can put a small menu on the 4 tables that are there. My day fee included my food. Breakfast was very disappointing as I don't like cold eggs at all. At lunch I was very hungry because I didn't eat the cold breakfast and then I got a sandwich to eat. The puddings are very tasty. The Family Tree House is not at all what I expected and I am very disappointed. For me it was not a family unit as my bathroom was outside and my child's room was a completely different house. We were not together as a family. Pezulu can indicate on their information that an ordinary vehicle will not be able to get there and a bakkie or SUV may be the preferred vehicle. The only reason we drove our SUV is because I was tired, otherwise we would have driven the normal vehicle and wouldn't have been able to get in. There is no fridge in the room and I feel it is needed. The bar is incredibly expensive and you are forced to buy there as you can't keep cold drinks or water.
There is no vetilation in the rooms, no bar fridges to keep water or milk cold. No aircon - and the temperatures soar into the 40's there, so its is very uncomfortable. There is a fan, but does very little. The food was terrible! We were asked if we had any dietry requirements and I noted on my form before and on arrival LCHF / Banting. This is LOW CARBS; high fat. They replied and said our requirements are noted, but never even attempted to cater for it. Why even bother? The meals were nothing but carbs and the food was really terrible. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome, but the rest failed. It was very disappointing. The swimming pool was out of order, and you are not allowed to walk around anywhere unless with a guide (at R190 per person!). So you are confined to the hot room or the small uncomfortable bar area. This then forces you to go spend the day somewhere else, spending more money that was not intended and not being able to relax.
It was one of our nicest places to stay; I can't describe it in words! The staff were absolutely wonderful, thank you so much!
We really enjoyed the peacefulness of the lodge and the friendliness of the staff.
100% worth it and would recommend it for a lovely peaceful getaway in nature.
