Very friendly service and excellent quality food.
Jan is an excellent chef and spoiled us with his breakfast and dinners. The staff is well trained, and the chalet is looked after every day. It had been a nice getaway for us where we could just relax. Henk was always there to look after us.
Rooms are very well laid out, all that is needed was available, was also definitely particularly beautiful. The whole lodge is particularly beautiful and the staff made us feel very welcome. Really had a 5 star experience with food served in the best restaurants.

We were looking for a quiet place to do a mid-week (5 night) break and decided on Phakela. Hilton received us and from there we were literally carried on the hands. We just had to stop. He made us understand that they were not expecting any other guests. The lodge belonged to us. Everything was perfect! Food: couldn't ask for better. Deliciously and stylishly prepared and portions that are way too big. Accommodation: our room has been upgraded to the best room available. The facilities are truly 5 star. The layout is such that the forest comes inside. Each room has an outdoor shower and toilet. All their dangerous game (lions and buffalo) are in separate enclosures, so the farm is open for exploration. Great walking and exercise every day, They have plenty of game, so it was lovely to be able to be outside and appreciate the forest in this way. We really enjoyed it on Phakela with Hilton and his team. Made new friends and will definitely go again.

Excellent food and fantastic service. Quiet lodge, not many units - so very exclusive. Swimming pool to cool down in. Complementary game drives and lions in camp only 100m from the lodge were a special experience. Only suggestions will be to make fruit available at the breakfast table and to consider setting up a bar area outside to make it more sociable.
Our stay was pleasant, good room and facilities, very good food. Service could be better but after it was addressed we couldn't complain.

We had a party of 8 people stay at the lodge. We had magnificent service from Hilton and the staff at the lodge. Our rooms were incredible and we enjoyed the ambiance. The food was fantastic and delicious.

Our stay over Easter weekend was exceptional. There are only 6 detached units which means that the lodge will not get too busy. The units are very spacious and clean. Our unit "Nyani" has a large bed with TV, small fridge, indoor bathroom and outdoor bath and shower. The units are cleaned daily even on weekends. Treats are provided every evening. At this stage the menu is a bit limited, but the food is very tasty which contributes to the value for money. The manager assured that the menu will be expanded soon. The spa is also being redone. Really a very nice destination.
We really enjoyed our getaway weekend at Phakela. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. The food was excellent and the place is clean and tidy.
