Very nice stay. WiFi just didn't work, but that doesn't matter to me. The security guard in front of the gate was really good! Very friendly and efficient. He brought a trolley to take all my luggage to the room and took everything to my room himself.
Quite sufficient for the one night's sleepover. Nice big room. Lovely shower. Comfortable for longer stays with kitchen and outside braai.

Was here for a break with my little girl and everything needed was there. Arranged to check in early and was greeted with friendly service without any problems. When unpacking the car, the man at reception brought us a trolley and everything was loaded onto the trolley and taken by him to the room. All staff were always friendly and helped without hesitation. Went shopping and security carried everything to the room. The service was exceptional and I would stay there again anytime without hesitation. Regarding the room,

I can only recommend it if safety is introduced in the shower. The epoxy floor was slippery and my husband slipped and fell in the shower and was very hurt. He had to go to the casualty at 10 o'clock in the evening for stitches and antibiotics. This is a dangerous shower as the floor becomes as smooth as soap when there is water on it. However, we slept well and the security is good.
We had a nice stay and had a nice meal at Bushveld Terrace.

Great noise from the people in unit 3 from ten o'clock in the evening until about 4 o'clock in the morning. Also loud music through the night until about 4 in the morning. When we left, the management was not available. We had to leave the key with the security guard.
Generator will help. We couldn't take a shower because there was no power and no water either.
Rooms are nice and spacious with everything you need for an overnight stay. Parking nice and spacious to turn around with caravan without difficulty.
Although it is an older building, it was neat, spacious and comfortable. Bedding was on the older side and dishes were not completely clean, but Watson was very helpful and helped us with his trolley to carry a lot of luggage back and forth and we were able to plug in our camp freezer outside during the night.

The room was as advertised but the complex is under renovation so there was a lot of building dust. We could plug in our camping trailer but had to climb over various items to do so. The check in clerk was not very friendly. Although the person manning the gate was helpful. There were lots of rules posted everywhere which was not very welcoming. Although perfect for entering the Kruger Park the next day the location in the industrial area was not great. Wi-Fi not very strong.
Signing up: long, slow process. Rooms: furniture/bedding etc. is much older than it looks in the photos. One sheet was torn, some of the beds had hair on them. One room also had an unpleasant smell. Refrigerators: upon arrival nothing was on in the rooms. One of the reasons why I chose the place was because I wanted fridges to make sure meat and food stay frozen/fresh overnight. I had to put on refrigerators myself. One refrigerator's lower part did not work. There is a note on the fridges that says it is due to "loadshedding" that they don't leave fridges on, but surely they should at least be switched on around check-in time. Air conditioning: also had to turn it on myself and only found out after a long search that it was off at the DB board. Are you threatened with a R1000 fine if you switch on air conditioning? Kitchen: planned to grill, but everything is locked in kitchen cupboards. Have to pay deposit first to use it, which is not said? Others: tea and coffee are promised, but there was none. Summary: definitely not as advertised, would not book again.

Some of the more permanent guests' laundry hung over the walls. Was not very professional.
We were looking for cheap yet neat overnight accommodation on the way to Kruger National Park, with safe parking for our caravan. When we arrived they made an effort to move a parked vehicle so I could stop near the power point and connect the camper. We were also received very kindly and felt very safe inside the property at all times. The pool was clean and full, the room tidy and the beds clean and comfortable. We will stay here again for a night if we go to Kruger.
We had to go to Phalaborwa for a funeral and were looking for affordable place to stay for one night only. We were so pleasantly surprised that we decided to stay an additional night and if we did not have to be back in Cape Town for work, we would have stayed longer. Watson was extremely helpful upon our arrival and made us feel right at home. Had similar experience with Enop the next day. Unit was spotless, kitchen did not only have complimentary coffee, tea and sugar but also a packet of biscuits. Bathroom also had little extra's like cotton wool, earbuds and toothpicks. Unit was clean, tidy and had fan and hairdryer as extra's - not at all the basic things we expected at this rate. Would gladly recommend to all.
If I could just make a suggestion, if they could turn on the fridges a while before someone checks in it would help a lot. All 2 rooms' fridges were cold only the next morning. You come from the road and want to put your things in the fridge to get cold, then the fridges are warm.
Staff is friendly. Only had trouble with the card, but went to withdraw cash and everything was fine. Photos not 100% what place looks like, but no complaints. Staff offered to help carry without us asking.
The place is nice but the open space sleeping area is a downside for me. I am a mother of boys and had to chase my kids out if I wanted to change. They should consider adding a door or demarcating the sleeping areas.

One of the primary reasons I booked this spot is because I was in an overlanding vehicle and the website offered 'Power points are available in the parking area to charge camping fridges overnight'. I asked about the power point and was told there was a fridge in the room. No music allowed on premises but the surrounding premises were playing music late in to the night and early morning.
We slept there on our way to Shingwedzi from Pretoria.
The Phalaborwa Town Guest House was good value for money, but not again. They were busy with extensions when we arrived there, so I can understand that the overall cleanliness is not always in one's control. We had no hot water at all in the geyser and when we reported it we found out the geyser was never turned on. When the geyser was turned on it didn't really help, as the water was still cold. We also couldn't swim as there was something wrong with the pool.
After 7 hours on the road, our fridge was not turned on when we arrived. Furthermore, we arrived there in loadshedding. This meant that our meat had already thawed and we could not drink anything cold. There is an emergency light in the room that did not work. Furthermore, I have a concern about the electrical wiring in the kitchen. I realize that for the amount I pay one cannot expect too much. At least the noise from the contractors who stayed there lasted until 22:00. At least have to say that the mattresses and bedding are of good quality.
Beds on concrete, discarded furniture, attached rooms, received by someone who could not communicate properly. Not warned that pool is not functional.
I felt safe, security 24hrs nice shelter for the car and the staff is friendly.
This is just a wonderful place to spend some time.

The place is very comfortable and has a large room with room for 5 people. Decor is not my taste at all, but the place is value for money. Unfortunately the pool was empty.
Can take care of drying dish towels and equipment for washing dishes in the kitchen area. Know it's Covid and appreciate the effort they are making, but the soap they use to wash linen has an incredibly strong smell that makes it difficult to sleep peacefully.
The reception was very hospitable and the security was excellent. There was a power point in the parking lot where we could connect the van and keep the freezer cold. The sleeping area was large. We were only two people and there was room for 5. Very clean and tidy and fully equipped. WiFi did not work. I would not feel safe to walk outside the complex to a place to eat in the evening.

At first glance we were a bit unsure, but the room was neat and well furnished.
On arrival, pool was green and not maintained, bathroom door handle was broken, staff did a temporary fix but it continued to fall off throughout our stay and we kept getting locked in the bathroom. When we complained, the owner told us to leave within the hour on 31st Dec knowing full well we would battle to find alternative accommodation. Dish cloths and wash up cloths were so filthy that we went to buy our own instead. TV didn't work, no brooms on premises, again had to buy our own. Will never recommend this place to anyone. Cleaning staff literally mopped the filthy floors and then used the same mop to clean the outside table tops, absolutely disgusting.
The value for money you get for staying here is great. They do open late for late arrivals. We found the venue to be quiet and had a good nights sleep in comfortable beds.
Vusi speaks pure Afrikaans, out of his own he replaced our tire which was flat. Vusi is a sincere, friendly man. He helped us a lot. Excellent!

We found all facilities excellent and would highly recommend this venue to others. It was clean, peaceful, quiet, safe, nicely off the road and within easy walking distance of shops and garages. We were able to plug in our camping freezer overnight without any bother. There was a night watchman on duty which was very reassuring.
We were kindly received. They helped us get our luggage into our rooms. The staff were also very helpful in hooking up our caravan and hooking up the power with wall plugs that were on hand. Everything according to our expectations.

I found the rooms to be outdated, but kept very clean. Aircon worked very well. TV limited to local channels only. Cooking facilities limited to a single electric hotplate and a microwave oven. No laundry service at the lodge, however there is a laundry shop just a few meters away.
Couldn't wash her hair, ice cold water and trickle by drop. Coffee is expensive. No body soap. Fleas and stray cat.
No swimming pool. Construction, so everything was full of dust. Had to wait for 15 minutes to get a response from reception. Strot's drain was blocked and so was the sink. Took 2 days to fix.
I would like to visit once more, everything was catered for and felt like I am home, it's a clean, big room, fridge, stove. It was impressive really.
I was pleasantly surprised to see how beautiful the place is. Very clean, tidy and tasteful. Staff extremely friendly. Only negative feedback is that I was on a business trip and needed Internet. According to the website there is WiFi, but when I arrived at the destination they told me that WiFi does not work in the rooms. They are indeed working on it and have assured me that by next year July (2019) it will be available in all rooms as well.
The reception was friendly and the accommodation excellent. I mentioned to management that the fridge was making a noise that was hard to sleep with, but I was assured it would be attended to. If I remember correctly it was room 6. Otherwise 100%.

We stayed in the unit for 8 days and from there went out daily to tourist attraction. Reception was very friendly. They offered to take the suitcases and other things through to our unit. Get from key very easy and vining. In general, reception is very friendly. Less pleasant: Crisp bedding, for sure. I spoke to the receptionist and asked for new bedding. I also had to ask for clean towels. Mattress is slept through and therefore very hard. I understand the cement base is hard, but the mattress already has body cavities in it which makes it uncomfortable. Shower has no doors and causes the entire bathroom floor to be wet after showering. Floors are very slippery and injuries can be easily sustained. The first night after we barbecued, like at all other places, we left the bag of wood under the barbecue. The next night the wood was gone. My husband then went to reception to ask where the wood was and the lady said she would follow up with the people who cleaned that day. We are still waiting. Our neighbors who also barbecued had their bag gone and because we and they wanted to barbecue again, there was such awkwardness and they came to us and asked if we had taken their wood. I don't think it's very funny and really put a huge damper on the evening's barbecue/socializing.
Comfortable place to stay in, just a pity the air conditioner is mounted on top of a hanging cabinet and thus the air flow is not very good. Would also have been better if there were fans to circulate the air.
We were received with absolute kindness by the receptionist. We were pleasantly surprised with the units and were able to relax peacefully in the garden to end the day. The place is centrally located, within walking distance of several shops and a pleasant restaurant. We were also able to reach the Wildlife Park's Phalaborwa gate within a few minutes the next morning to start our Wild Zoo holiday. Thank you very much, we will definitely use you again.
Directions explained very well. Was almost 6 o'clock when we arrived at the friendly lady in the office. She showed us our room, unlocked it and welcomed us at African Lily!
Warm reception. Place was clean and neat. Braai facilities and seating beneath the trees were unexpected extras. Would stay there again.
We had a very nice time. Kind and helpful reception and people. We stayed in room 6 and 7. Equipped with all the necessities, nice and big, neat and clean. Had a problem with the locks of room 7 and the back door had a flaw by the lock part. We reported it and they said that they would fix it. Perfect place for a trip to the Kruger.

The whole stay was a pleasure, but please look at the number of towels in the rooms so that if 4 people are booked in then supply 4 towels. The braai facilities outside are fantastic.
Wonderful clean and spacious place to sleep over with small children. There is a small garden/braai area at each unit, a nice big bath, cute kitchen and plenty of space for bags and suitcases. We checked in at 00:30 in the morning, and it was easy to get from the parking lot to the room.

My husband and I enjoyed the holiday in Phalaborwa, the accommodation was very neat and private and the lady who works from 11 o'clock in the morning was very friendly and helpful.
Not using GPS and street map direction not 100% clear - had to search and dial a bit. Vehicle not near room but security guard on duty overnight. Would love to sleep on single beds but don't like black sheets! Washbasin too small and embedded too far from the side. No plug in it. Nice quiet environment.

The gardens and room are neat. The rooms etc are old but it's OK. I wouldn't come here for a vacation, but it was sufficient for the 1 night. We arrived just before 18:00 and drove again by 8:00 the next morning. It was just a place for us to sleep for the night.

So-so. Niks om oor opgewonde te raak nie en ook nie te veel om oor te kla nie. As ek daaroor dink, dit is 'n kwessie van kry waarvoor jy betaal. Bietjie besige deel van die dorp en raserig met vulstasie en kuierplek oorkant die straat. Die vulstasie het darem lekker koffie.

The rooms were nice and big.
The bed was full of ants falling from the roof. Had to find other accommodation at 20:00 that night. We then checked into another guest house which was clean and tidy. I cannot recommend African Lily at all.
We were there before our check-in time and were immediately helped because we have small children and because we drove a long way. The place was clean and smelled good when we opened the door. If you had any queries, they helped immediately. It was also very quiet in the complex. Thank you very much, we will definitely stay with you again!

African Lily Lodge is about 3km from the Phalaborwa Gate of the KNP and therefore an ideal stop-over for people from Gauteng on their way to a stay in the KNP.
We were happy with our stay and love the non smoking policy. Comfortable, clean, safe and good value for money.
Overall we had a great time.The reason for the low rating of location is due to the music at the shebeen which only calm down in the early hours of the morning.
