The living area is bright and comfortable with a log-burning stove to make it cosy on winter evenings. The front leads out onto wooden decking with stunning views across the Overberg, while at the back of each chalet there is a dedicated braai area looking up towards Phillipskop. Below the chalets is a natural swimming pool for the exclusive use of overnight guests.

We really enjoyed our stay at Phillipskop Mountain Reserve. I, as a nature lover, especially enjoyed our guided nature walk with the owner who is very knowledgeable about Fynbos and the plants on the farm. We did the 3-hour walk (my other travelers did not want to do the longer walk).
We had an incredible time here. A little bit of heaven on a mountainside! Both kids and adults loved it. Thank you!
The cottage was very spacious, clean and well equipped. A stunning setting surrounded by fynbos with unobstructed views of the valley makes this the perfect getaway.

It is sometimes difficult to walk, also to the pool, because there are many loose stones and it can be unsuitable for older persons who may fall. It is necessary to bring your own lamps for loadshedding and a fan for the heat. The fridge was a bit small. It's a long way over farm roads to get to a shop, so you can't quickly find something you forgot or wanted. But we had a great stay!

The house is spacious and has a beautiful view of the Kleinrivier Valley. This was our second visit to Phillipskop within a year. Three beautiful hiking trails completed in pristine fynbos, suitable for active people of all ages.
Breakaway weekend for me and my husband. It was very peaceful. Neat and clean. The only two negative things are the grill was dirty and there was no brush to clean the grill. The other is to maybe just put out a packet of coffee for their guests. Most guests travel far and then to enjoy a coffee on the stoep is delicious.
Cottages are spacious inside and are well placed for privacy. Comfortable sofas and fireplace just makes for a cosy stay. Love the views all round from the deck to the mountains in the back. Safe hikes with routes for all levels of fitness. Stunning views and beautiful flora and bird life. We stayed in Restio which is perched higher up. Appreciated the extra time in the cottage on the Sunday when we were allowed to checkout at 15h00 - this made our stay less rushed. Our hosts gave us a lot of useful information about the reserve and the hiking routes.
Phillipskop is a wonderful escape - the scenery is beautiful and Oxtail cottage lovely.
The dish towel that you left there for us to wash dishes with was really, really dirty. Been quite creepy. And candles would be cool, there was loadshedding and no candles or candles.
