Gillian accommodated me as I arrived a day earlier, there was a bigger room available as the next night's stay was already arranged. I was disappointed with an unexpected charge of R440 that was not explained.

Very polite host and clean accommodation.
Queen room is quite small and there are no windows in the bathroom. The fan in the bathroom is noisy and vehicles passing by make a lot of noise close to the room. The driveway is very nice, but the parking lot is awkward. There is a very nice braai area where you can also smoke with a beautiful view if you are a smoker. I would only recommend this if you plan to eat out and are just looking for a place to sleep. The bar fridge is very small.

The driveway was a bit scary for me, but that's my issues. It's really very nice there.
After my car stopped 6 km outside Knysna on the way back to Albertinia I urgently had to spend a night in Knysna. The owner upgraded my accommodation due to my "ordeal" but on top of that, the kindness and helpfulness were really just tops! Offered a lovely glass of wine and good company at their bar and then had a lovely hot shower and slept on the most comfortable bed. Nice thick curtains made the room nice and dark. It was absolutely great and I will definitely stay there again on my business trip in that direction!

It is very close to the waterfront which made it convenient. The only problem is that it is very close to the road, and the traffic is very loud during the day. At night, the traffic was much less and I was able to sleep. Thanks for a lovely stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 10-day stay at Phoenix Lodge. The friendly owners, Graig and Gillian, go out of their way to make you feel at home. They know the area well and suggested some great restaurants and places of interest to visit. The location is great with awesome views of the Knysna Heads. We would definitely book here again.

Our stay was short but sweet. The only complaint I would have is that the bed was a bit saggy so considering I had a long drive back to CT, my rest was not exactly what I was hoping for.
The Lodge has a restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner. Food is delicious and well priced. Braai area is in front and has views of the lagoon.
I particularly liked that the hosts gave us places to go and visit, particularly as the beaches were closed. This helped us a lot, to get to know Knysna and its beauty. The hosts were very friendly and really made us feel at home. What could be worked on, is to have more channels on the TV. Because of the curfew we couldn't stay out past 21:00 and had to watch TV. The movie channels were very limited and there were no sport channels. It would have been great to have sport channels, for a sports fanatic like me.
The traffic is just very busy, lorries and vehicles rumbling all night.

It was not nice at all, the room listed as LUXURY was not LUXURY, and it was damn small, there was NO hot water, the pillows were old squishy stuff no one can use, the location of the lodge is on the main street and nobody mentions it anywhere. We booked and paid for 2 nights but got another place to sleep, really couldn't sleep another night there. The breakfast was very nice.
