It's just too far to drive around within Mabalingwe itself. It's in the private part. So you have to exit Cyferfontein's gate and drive right around the dirt road to enter Mabalingwe's main gate. It's a bit inconvenient. And loadshedding is quite a big fuck. But otherwise a very nice lodge.
Best destination and excellent services and thank you to the staff and delicious food, hospitality perfect.

Very clean and tidy, excellent hosting and good food. I would advise travellers to not book during the rainy season because of the 7 km gravel road, it is a very unpleasant and stressful drive and you don't get to experience game drives due to rain. The website was unclear regarding the game drives, as I was under the impression it was included in the package, only to find out closer to our travel time that it is an additional charge. My personal opinion, it is not worth the amount that I paid.
There is not enough space here to share our bad experience. If it wasn't for the view and the 4 female staff members, we would have already left on the 1st day. Owner is beyond inappropriate and aggressive, you feel unwelcome and feel like you can't even breathe without him glaring at you or coming to cross-examine you! We have been all over the world, but have never experienced anything like this! We feel terribly sorry for his staff to work under someone like that, he should be ashamed and instead give this place up to people who know what they are doing and know what hospitality is! Unfortunately I would not recommend this place to anyone, not only because of that but also that there are some things that are not at all as advertised, Jacuzzi is cold, Wifi only works now and then and signal is terribly bad, in the rooms there is no signal! Sorry, but better stay away and spend your money somewhere decent, it's a shame we wasted so much money!
The host, Derrick, is amazing in his knowledge and insights into nature. He and all the staff left no stone unturned to cater to our every need and comfort.

Not something I would do again. I got confused and I was under the impression I booked the whole house for that amount of money as I have stayed in Mabalingwe before. I just got confused over the place I thought I booked. We eventually came back earlier than we booked. We booked a single room and not the whole house as I expected. My mistake for not reading the info correctly.
The silence is something to experience. One cannot describe it.
A little dated.
We had a lovely weekend. The view is breathtaking and the rooms are convenient and tasteful. Staff and management were very helpful and friendly at all times.
The Google Map gives incorrect information.
These are the best meals we have ever had in any lodge, staff very friendly and helpful.
