As expected. No frills but pleasant and clean. The staff are friendly and the food was good.
It's such a cute place with a lot of history and character. The rooms need urgent attention. The restaurant's food was of excellent quality and the service friendly - I can definitely recommend (as well as breakfast). Should please don't let this special place be lost with sleeping quarters/bathrooms not up to standard!
Very tasty, the food is excellent (enjoyed very much, thanks to the chef). The hot water must be on upon arrival. The boiler must work.
Place is clean and tidy.
Rooms smell musty. There were no towels available. When we went to ask, we were told that the cleaners had already gone home and there were no keys for the linen room. The restaurant is not open all the time.
Rooms are quite old and in need of updating. I have stayed in much nicer locations for less than what they are charging per night. Paint is coming off on the walls due to damp. So-called curtains are old and coming apart. No hot water to shower with in the morning; had to run the taps for 10 minutes to get slightly warm water.
I have stayed in the Pietersburg Club before - basic but did not find it unpleasant. On the night of the 17th, though I booked and paid while travelling, since we decided ad hoc that we will stay over in Polokwane. We arrived at 18:00. The staff - no problems from their side, they were friendly and helpful - informed us that the club is locked after 20:00 - no remote gate key - so effectively you are locked in for the evening with no way to go to restaurants, etc. We might even have arrived after 20:00 not knowing that we would not be able to get in. Previously, you would find people on the stoep, having a beer and a nice atmosphere - now I'm not sure what happened. No fridge in the rooms.
I didn't like it much. So many basic essentials were not included. No security at the gate, and no remotes to access the property when you want to go out and be back late. No water in the bedrooms, old model plugs, and they were not strategically placed for convenience. We couldn't charge our gadgets from the bedside. The bathroom was leaking, and the entrance door lock looked like it had been tampered with, which made us doubt the security of the place.
As always the room was clean and nice, however it is now the second time staying here that we had no hot water for the shower.
Their food is some of the best I could find in Polokwane.
We slept very well, people are friendly and the place is just okay. I think 20 years ago it was a beautiful piece, but they are still stuck in that era. Our room didn't have a curtain and the blind didn't work either, so the sunlight bothered us a lot. On the opposite side, rock-hard music also bothered until the next morning at 06:00. Overall a good place, just needs a little attention.
The photos posted on the ad are not at all what the room I was placed in looks like. The carpets are broken and certain sections don't even reach the wall. There is one power point in the room that also worked on grace. The descriptions talk about a flat screen TV in each room, my room still had an old box TV. The wifi did not pick up at all in the room I was in. The beds are incredibly low and not very comfortable. It takes about 25 to 30 minutes for the water to heat up and given the fact that Polokwane often struggles with water this is a huge and unnecessary waste. On a positive note. The people who work there are very nice and accommodating. They are friendly and really try to help where they can.

The hotel is part of the Pietersburg Club, which has existed since the beginning of the 1900s. The building is in a colonial building style. It is in very good shape given the pressure that gentlemen's clubs have been under for the past number of years. Compliments to the board, staff and management who ensure a pleasant stay in this exceptional complex. Even Phineas, the bartender is still at his post after probably close to 50 years.
This is the second time we use this beautiful place for an overnight stay and it is our first option if we have to book a place in Polokwane. The food is well prepared and tasty and it is affordable. There are no other restaurants in the immediate area, and this makes the options for meals a little limited, but the food at the club makes up for it. The tranquility and good service make it really pleasant to spend the night there for a night or two.
Such a historical establishment, steeped in history. Very close to all the sports facilities and required stores.

Incredible value for money for what you get. Lovely surroundings, friendly staff and a great breakfast which is half price if you pay the night before when booking in. All round, if you are looking for a reasonable room and good food at the bottom end of pricing in the area, this has to be your choice. The free Wi-Fi is slow. I couldn't listen to music videos on YouTube, as the feed kept breaking up. Using the Wi-Fi for emails, etc. was perfect.
Me and my friend enjoyed the peacefulness. Was the next day relaxed after a quietness night. The accommodation and surroundings are beautiful.
We were on our way to Kruger National Park, and had to sleep somewhere. I went through quite a few places in the area and Pietersburg Club caught our eye. It has everything we would like. It was beautiful, clean, friendly people and safe for our vehicle. It was only 1 night, but if we have to drive past there again, we will stay there again. The cleanest town we have seen in a long time.

Power and water are sometimes a problem because if the power is off then there is no water either.
The place looks very neat from the outside, and even the inside is very neat. Rooms smelled a bit musty upon entry, but other than that the rooms were tidy. Breakfast was not included in our price and had to be paid for separately, but still delicious. Cheap single night overnight accommodation.
Nice old fashioned charm from the reception, stairs to the room as well as the dining room. Food is tasty and affordable. Staff are friendly and very helpful. The room is comfortable and very neat and clean. Coffee bar and air conditioning. Good accommodation and conveniently located.

Unfortunately, the photos were misleading. I booked the Deluxe room because the pictures and description were enticing. Unfortunately upon arrival I discovered that the shower was indeed a tub/shower combo. There was also not a small fridge in the room as listed.
Apart from the fact that there was no water two of the four mornings, the accommodation met requirements - just a place to sleep, as I was out all day from early to sunset. Would help a lot if there is a mini fridge in the rooms as there was not even ice available for the rooms. TV channels power.

5 nights, 2 mornings there was no water. Restaurant is closed on Saturday and Sunday evenings. Plumbing needs urgent attention. Sounds like there's a shebeen in the neighborhood that makes noise until the early hours of the morning.

We traveled from Bethlehem, Free State, and did not arrive until 8 o'clock in the evening. There is friendly service and always someone at reception. It made our trip very convenient.

The facilities are very nice clean and tidy, but 1 room did not have hot water and the air conditioning and bedside lamps in the other room were out of order.
Place closes early and locks the gate. Might consider other method.
