Marie was a very good host.
We really enjoyed our stay and did not have any issues. The host was very friendly. It would have been nice if the hot tub was bigger. The house accommodates 8 people but a maximum of 4 people could fit in the tub. It does look bigger in the photo.
The house is well equipped with everything that you need. Beautiful, private big back yard with lots of space to spend those summer days outside. There is an indoor braai and board games to keep everyone entertained for the colder days.
Lovely house for a family with dogs. Beautiful fenced backyard and a lovely porch. So peaceful and nice places to walk. The convenience of a dishwasher is a big plus point.
We had a great time, but felt that there could have been some improvements. The dishwasher and a few other appliances shocked us when we used them. We couldn't find the WiFi password. The patio was dirty: bird poop on the step. Complaints from the previous occupants were left on the fridge. Gas lamps didn't have any fuel and one didn't have a wick. These were necessary as there was a power and water outage when we arrived. We weren't told to bring our own towels. We couldn't find the volleyball for the net outside.
We had to pay for breakages, which were not caused by us. And unfortunately we did not take any photos upon arrival and duration of stay, of what we noticed was faulty or broken. So we had no evidence to prove our word. And we as a group feel it was unfair to us. And also wonder how many other groups or couples have had this happen to them.
Lovely, cosy home. Marie is an amazing host and very accommodating. Kids enjoyed the board games and backyard while the adults enjoyed the cosy fireplace and porch area.
Upon arrival we collected the keys from the "keybox" at the front door - at first, the house was neat and clean - there were even fresh flowers in the living room. But as the days were going by, some cracks were showing - typical of South African holiday accommodation, the owners were dumping their old, out-of-date, non-working stuff in the house. We made a list of nonworking kitchen utensils like the egg beater not working, fridge door handle missing, bathroom mats totally unacceptable, blocked shower, old ashes in the Jacuzzi, some dining room chairs were broken. We appreciate the installation of the "old" washing machine after my request and the flowers in the living room - but for the price we paid for this accommodation, we certainly expected something less tatty.
The place is well fully furnished with everything that you might need. Plus the owner is the best, she is super friendly. I could definitely recommend the place to others.
Pik 'n Wyntjie is in a very nice clean and attractive condition with a very good and friendly owner Michelle.
I will definitely come here again. We had a great time. The house is well equipped, intimate and homely. There were games which made it more exiting. Thank you!
It was a wonderful experience and I can recommend this house to anyone. Only thing that we didn't like was the shower head, it is a bit small and not much water gets through. Made it cold in the shower. No other complaints.
