We traveled with 2 children (2 and 4) and the unit was perfect for us. Space, clean, warm. Was very well received as well, and would sleep here again anytime.
Our Jack Russel was together. The unit had a separate part of the yard where the dog could roam. Definitely animal friendly. Owner received us kindly.
The apartment is located close to the highway and is easily accessible.

They are going to have to replace the mattress. The place is beautiful, spacious, clean and tidy. There was a fault with the gas geyser which they fixed, but the water was off again in the morning, and there was also a fault with the security gate. I informed the host about the gate.
Convenient and comfortable. Secure parking. Everything you need for an overnight stay. Host goes to great lengths to make guests feel comfortable and at home.

Was able to rest well for the 2nd part of our trip on the way to the sea.
Place was clean and tidy. But unfortunately needs upgrades. Hot tap is erratic (gas) and mirror broken, sheets are old, beds slept through. We were only there for the one night. Uncle who received us was very friendly and helpful.
Personally, I prefer calmer and quieter places to sleep, further from the highway.
We have stayed at the place a few times. Everything is very clean and tidy. It is in a quiet part of town. There was someone there to welcome us when we got there. They are always available when you need them. There are plenty of warm blankets if you need them, electric blanket on the bed. Gas heater.
Francois went out of his way to make our stay wonderful. Electric blankets and gas heater were a treat! Stay was really lovely.
Brilliant location for an overnight stay. Great value for money. The host was very helpful in sorting out the hot water. As it is a gas geyser needs to run for a while before getting hot but then piping hot.

My wife and I only stayed one night, but the unit was very nice inside, tidy, had plenty of sleeping space. It was a winter's evening and the bed had an electric blanket which was a nice surprise.
Flat itself was great, clean and all that you needed for an overnight stay was available. I was even given a small gas stove for coffee during loadshedding times. Generator used too. Friendly and worth its price. Would gladly return.

Pet friendly if arranged in advance. Yard is closed so dogs can't get lost. The people were friendly and the service very good. We could only get there late and they helped us without problems. It is like every place in Harrismith though, relatively close to the main roads. So here and there you hear a truck or two, if you are a light sleeper it might bother you.
We had a very nice stay, although the problem was that if the room next door had a shower, our room had no water, and we had to wait to be able to shower. Service was top notch and would stay there again.

Very neat place. Most beautiful garden with the most beautiful roses. Unit 1's bathroom is beautiful and spacious. Unit 3 leaked a bit with the rain. Suggest you watch it. It was bitterly cold the night we slept there. But every bed had a cuddly warm lamb blanket. Slept very nice and warm. Thank you very much.
The town's power was off and at least there was a generator! The owner went out of his way to make sure everything was ok.

The lady who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. The unit self-catering flat is spacious, and we really liked it. It was very hot when we got there and we were looking forward to some ice-cold water. However, there was no cold water in the fridge or ice trays to make cold water. So the one suggestion I have is that they should provide ice trays and a bottle with cold water in the fridge. I would definitely recommend Platberg Self-catering.

We were on our way to the coast of Natal and checked in late. They had no problem with this and welcomed us at 21:30. Everything was clean. Unfortunately Harrismith didn't have water that night, but it wasn't Platberg's fault.
The service was great with the staff being very friendly, the unit was spacious, clean and comfortable. Frankly much more than you would expect for the price.
This is ideal overnight accommodation. A bit far from the N1, but it was worth it. Beautiful view on the mountain.

Kitchenette has no sink or taps. Must fetch water from the bathroom. Stay neat for the price. Would appreciate a basin or taps in kitchen area. Had to struggle to get water in kettle from the bathroom sink. Unit 4 was booked. No numbers, but keys say no. 3. Clean, neat.
No washing up facilities, rubbish bin very small and no toaster or oven or stove. People need to make sure what they are going to get. We were told first come first serve, at least one expects that there are sufficient facilities available for self catering and if you have a pram it becomes very difficult. Can't make any food either!
