17 guests' feedbackThe units are very nice and equipped with what we needed. The lodge gardens are beautiful and they have catered for the little ones with small scooters and bicycles, a nice swimming pool and a jungle gym. Each chalet has its own boma from the outside 'stoep' and we enjoyed the late-night fire in the cooler weather. We encountered a herd of about 16 elephants one day riding along the river, fishing was not successful due to the weather but plenty of nice places next to the river where it could have been possible, just be wary of the hippos! The chalets were cleaned every day and the staff were very friendly. The first night and the last morning we enjoyed food from the restaurant and they are recommended!

We were very warmly received by the reception staff and shown around. Our chalet was sparkling clean and very comfortable and fully equipped. We were very impressed with our own boma where a fire was lit for us every night. The meals were of high quality and we were served very kindly. We will definitely see you again soon!
Wonderful and beautiful place. The place is very well appointed. Roads to the accommodation are in very poor condition.
All the staff friendly and helpful. The dinner and breakfast were excellent. Very peaceful place with the most beautiful big trees. Will definitely stay again.
Great stop on way through Platjan border post.
Platjan was like an oasis in a dry world. Gardens are beautifully maintained and a feast for the eyes. Chalets are particularly nicely decorated and very clean and tidy. Food was tasty prepared.

We planned to stay 3 nights to be able to visit one day Mapungubwe and one day Botswana. We were the only visitors and management and staff provided us with excellent service and friendliness. We needed to cut our visit one day short and the management immediately refunded one night. The lodges are great, very clean, each have a boma where staff will light at the end of the day an open fire. I highly recommend the lodge for everybody wanting to visit Mapungubwe or on its way to Botswana.

Highly recommendable, everything fell into place nicely and the lodge is as advertised. Beautiful location and excellent food in the restaurant.
We only arrived at about 20:00 and were told that we could still order food from the restaurant, which we did and it was delicious. The accommodation is lovely and comfortable and perfectly equipped for self-catering. There is a wonderful area on the veranda for socialising with a lovely braai-area. We will definitely, when travelling in that direction, stay at Platjan Lodge again.
