92 guests' feedbackI arrived at Ploegfontein somewhat stressed and tired. I was welcomed with warmth and laughter. My cottage was spacious and well-equipped. After a short stroll along the stream and a hot shower, I felt relaxed and ready to prepare my simple supper. Best of all was the bed! Crisp sheets and pillows just right. I left Ploegfontein the following morning feeling well-rested, ready to take on the trucks on the N1! Thank you, Yverne, for a special overnight stay. I'll definitely be back.

Yverne was such a wonderful host - she really went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed. The location is close enough to the highway that it isn't time-consuming to get back on the road but far away enough that it's quiet and you can relax. There are beautiful lawns for the kids to play on and a nice swing too. It's an ideal place for a stop-over when travelling.
We were kindly received upon our arrival. Everything was neat and clean. Yverne later came again to ask if there was anything we needed.
We had a fantastic stay. Yverne is a warm and welcoming host. We instantly felt at home. She cooked us a superb lamb pie with all the trimmings for dinner. The pool and tennis court were an added bonus. We will definitely be staying again, next time for more than one night.
We were warmly and kindly received by the host and she made sure that we could relax after several hours on the road. The unit by the pool was nice and clean and comfortable, and it was great to be able to cool off in the beautiful pool. Although we did not choose the dinner option, we would recommend it from a convenience point of view. Cereal, milk, sugar, coffee and tea as well as delicious home-baked biscuits were available.
Reception was friendly after a long day on the road. Everything was neat and clean. The unit is well equipped. Dinner was delicious, especially the mutton pie.
Peaceful farm atmosphere.
What an absolutely lovely place. My family does not want to spend the night anywhere else in the future (they actually just wanted to visit here for a few days).
We had a wonderful stayover at Ploegfontein. The host was great and warmly welcomed our little family to their farm, which is a perfect pitstop just off the N1. The gardens are beautiful, and we had a great time under the trees on a picnic blanket after a long day in the car. The dinner prepared for us was magnificent: a home-baked Karoo lamb pie with all the sides one could hope for, plus some dessert too!
Our stay was only for one night but it was lovely and peaceful. The room and bathroom were very clean and spacious, and the host was very friendly.
Ideal midway stop on route Cpt. Everything about our stay was perfect, from the picturesque Karoo farm sunset to the small touches like the luxurious towels & linen and of course the delicious Karoo lamb dinner is a must!

Our stay was very pleasant and nice and quiet. The service and hospitality of the hostess was excellent and the farmer's food delicious! The green Free State plains are a treat for the soul and the swimming pool a treat for the body!
It was very pleasant. The host was a lovely lady who made a lovely meal, which we paid for but it was excellent. The room was large, clean, old-fashioned but that is what we like. A very peaceful and restful overnight stop. Highly recommended. The road to the B&B was gravel and rocky but not too far off the main road, very nice stop.

After the long drive, Ploegfontein was a pleasant overnight stop on the way to the Cape. We were kindly received, and the hospitality knew no bounds. We were served the most delicious farm food after the kids played in the pool and we enjoyed a drink on the big old farm porch. Beautiful place!
What a friendly reception and welcome after an exhausting drive from Prince Albert with road diversions and single tracks. A spacious guest unit with a mini kitchen equipped with everything you need. The braai place was conveniently close by in a green lawn bordered garden. The shower has a comfortable hand rail which is rarely found. An undisturbed night's rest on the comfortable single beds ensured a special farm experience.
The arranged supper was top class. The stay was value for money.

We also had the privilege of going for a walk on the beautiful farm and it was a wonderful experience for us and the children.
From booking Yverne communicated well, she stayed up and opened up for us even though we arrived late, she is running a lovely farm experience and is worth a visit in between Jhb-CPT/Garden Route.

What a lovely place to stay on the long trip from Cape Town to Jo'burg! Just off the N1, but far enough not to be aware of the traffic. It was wonderful and restful after a day's travel. Lots of space for our toddler to explore, and a lovely evening evening meal prepared by hostess Yverne. When we travel that way again we'll be back!
Yverne and her family were most welcoming and accommodated our every need - from a late arrival, special dietary requirements for a delicious dinner, an honesty fridge, free use of their freezer, and along with this a very comfortable sleep, and super shower! We found it good value for money, homely, and clean and they offered a no-fuss, do-it-yourself breakfast for an early start. We arrived late, but it was all sorted as our host communicated with us throughout the day. We arranged to have dinner at the house as we had no opportunity on the way. The host made us an outstanding homecooked meal of lamb pie, sweet potato fritters and garden veg, and it was served in the comfort of our own space. Highly recommended.

The garden cottage is lovely, celan, well appointed and comfortable but what really makes this place special is the exceptional friendliness and professional care from Yverne & Robert, when he's not busy with the sheep. The farm is easy to access from the highway, but no noise. The sky is huge and so many stars. It is a really great place to stop over and recover after a long day on the road.

Yverne was an excellent hostess. She went out of her way to accommodate us and even provided rackets when our 5 year old wanted to make his debut on the tennis court. It's a typical sheep farm and we could go for a nice walk in the field. We can also recommend Yverne's dinners. In our case it was lamb pie with pumpkin puffs, peas and ice cream with chocolate sauce for pudding. Even the picky kids give their stamp of approval.

We spent the night at Ploegfontein on our way to our destination. Due to a lot of rain, stuck on a dirt road. Host/wife came to drag us out and fed us a delicious lamb pie to cheer us up. After the event the hospitality was so welcome. The overnight accommodation itself is neat, with a small kitchen and large bathroom. Also giant swimming pool and tennis court, could go for a walk and stretch legs and look at sheds on the farm. Very good value for money for family of 4.

What a wonderful surprise! Hospitality and cleanliness top notch. More spacious and luxurious than we expected. The bright large swimming pool, lawns and tennis court a dream for teenagers. Stoepie is also a great delicacy. We recommend Ploegfontein with great boldness. We will definitely stay here again on our way to the coast. Exactly halfway between Pretoria and Plet.
