120 guests' feedbackCertainly, we were kindly received and everything was in place and clean.
It was perfect for what we needed and we could walk to the restaurants. We had a great stay and will definitely go again.
Excellent service and rooms were neat and clean.
Lovely spacious apartments with large rooms. Open, clean and tidy. Reception immediately made us feel at home and were very helpful with load shedding schedules, etc.
Point Village Hotel is ideal for a quick overnight stay. Wish we could have stayed longer, but will definitely stay there again in the future.
Very nice and spacious rooms. Very good location. Other residents are noisy.
Had the nicest room on the first floor which had a sea view. Although there was no balcony, it was lovely to sleep with the sliding door open and feel the fresh sea air and hear the sea roar in the evening. Great customer service and I felt very safe. Will definitely book again soon.
Excellent location although the building and rooms are old and in need of an upgrade.
Our car had to be parked outside in a parking area. I think the whole apartment needs upgrading. Couches are uncomfortable.
Decided to stay there, was closest to my hangout for the evening, walking distance.
Not as advertised, false advertisement as you know.
Place was dirty. Stove, windows and porch were very dirty. All 3 patio chairs were broken. The stoep was full of pigeons' dung. Place for 6 people, but stoep can only sit 2 people. The smell of restaurant kitchen exhaust is unpleasant and the place is never really quiet. I asked manager to send someone to clean place while we were out, just made bed and washed dishes. The furniture, stove, windows, grill and porch were left just like that! There was also too little cutlery for 6 people, no pan for breakfast. Rooms are comfortable, beds are comfortable and bathrooms are also good.
Value for money. Excellent customer service. Neat. Good location and safe.
Excellent location close to places to eat. Comfortable room with balcony. Just sorry for the late night noise by some of the guests.
A few pointers: 1) Bring your own dishwashing liquid. 2) Bring all your food and water, no coffee, salt or pepper etc. is provided. 3) Towels are provided but bring beach towels. 4) The kettle was plastic, next time I stay I will bring my own, the water tasted of plastic once boiled. 5) Restaurants on site were great, value for money. 6) Service at the reception desk was great. 7) Rooms were fine, however, I have to state that the maintenance of the hotel is needing a bit of attention - luckily we were out most of the time. - a great location and a great stopover!
Painting was missing from the photos I received beforehand. No chocolate on pillow or even coffee, maybe I'm being a little unreasonable but for that price for 3 nights. Was a 2 sleeper suite, but definitely not a honeymoon one. Stay was pleasant, area perfectly located, staff was friendly and services excellent.
The staff was friendly upon arrival. The hotel is very basic, but for a one-night stay, it was good. The best part is that it is close to the sea, and the area seems pretty safe, so we could walk after dark and not feel scared. The room was clean, although the bathroom had some black mould and could do with a bit of a deep clean. All in all, we had a good night and left super early the next day.
Old building. Furniture old, looks like it was ordered. Room not as pictured. Rooms dirty, showers horribly dirty, tiles in bathroom, toilet and shower so dirty, the smell of urine in the bathroom. I had to get down on my knees and scrub floors myself. Shower water doesn't drain fast enough, and you have to stand in dirty water and hair coming out of the drain. Walls and tiles in shower so dirty, brown stained. Shame. Room does not have proper hanging space for clothes, kitchen area so dirty. Sink dirty. Crackware dirty. 2 single beds facing each other as a ''king-size'' bed, but one bed is lower than the other. In short, never again.
We were supposed to stay 7 days but only stayed one night because we had no other choice but checked out the next day. Our experience at Point Village Hotel was very bad and for sure will never book there again. We also had to pay R100.00 a day extra for parking. Enhied was dirty and wanted to stay there.
Should improve on sports channels not open view, please. DStv preferably. Should also put in extra toilet paper.
Very nice. Close to the ocean, tidal pool, putt-putt and other activities that can keep kids busy. Four places to eat within walking distance.
Close to shops and restaurants.
The staff had to scramble to make another unit available for us. We were caught off guard with cleaners in the unit after breakfast and would like to be informed of this service. The unit was clean and tidy and apart from the unpleasant arrival, we enjoyed it.
I made an error with our booking and the Manager assisted us in rectifying the booking. I found the bathroom lights are not sufficient in the main bathroom. The second was very small, could only walk on the right side of the bed as the other side was pushed up against the wall.
We had a great stay at Point Village. Perfect for an overnight stay at the point.
A tired hotel needing some love. Shower pressure very poor and water not warm enough. Deep clean needed. Fine for a 1 night stay. Good location but not ideal for relaxing. Noisy, thin walls.
On arrival the room with 2 beds that we booked was no longer available. The receptionist tried her best and we were put in room 7. The bathtub was dirty and I asked for it to be cleaned. We went out for a few hours and when we returned cockroaches were running all over the kitchen counter. The bathtub is so old that no one would dare to sleep in it. There is an open hole where the overflow should be and black water sprays out of the faucet. So we couldn't bathe at all that night.
Lovely close to the sea. Can hear and smell the sea.
The view was beautiful, the peaceful atmosphere, everything was just perfect. I would recommend it to any person.
Dolfie upgraded us to a lovely room! It is very neat and the bed sleeps very well. Thanks also to Naeema our website agent who helped us with our stay!
Perfect location with restaurants (and shops) in walking distance. Rooms are spacious with comfy beds. We had a very pleasant stay at Point Village Hotel and will definitely stay there again when next in Mossel Bay.
If it wasn't for the excellent location and safety, we would probably stay elsewhere. The place is a bit tired, smelly bathroom, not soundproof. TV channels very poor. There may as well be no TV in the room.
Nice quiet place, on the sea, at nice places to eat and nice place to relax. We slept well!
The hotel is located in a very popular area and staying there means you are in the middle of the action and can explore the world on foot.
Can't sit on porch. Right next to one way road, variety of car drivers who show no respect for others. Very noisy pedestrians directly in front of room and therefore cannot open the sliding door. Regarding privacy. Street lights that illuminate the room at night must be managed please. making an effort to darken the upper venters of the room. Thank you.
Beautiful place, wish we could have stayed longer!
Service was friendly, room tidy. The lift was unfortunately out of order, but apparently the parts had been ordered.
Very friendly and helpful upon arrival. Couldn't ask for a better location. Will stay there again for sure.
Was a very pleasant holiday weekend.
Great location. Beautiful clean accommodation.
We will definitely vacation there again. Their service was excellent.
Very neat and clean, could only do more to make the guests quieter when they come in in the morning hours.
See stars.
Walking distance to the beach and activities. Room clean and tidy.
Value for money. Nice place.
Lieflike hotel en nie te groot nie. Lekker cosy.
Wonderful to be able to stay so close to the sea. Restaurants also within walking distance.
The team of the hotel went out of their way to welcome me. The room was neat and perfect for my needs. The only bad thing is that the restaurants loading zone was right under my window and it was very busy with deliveries.
You can really just park your car there and don't have to drive anywhere again. It is right by the beach, the restaurants and other attractions. It is remarkable how safe it is, and Mossel Bay goes through a lot of trouble for their tourism.
Friendly and helpful staff. They go out of their way to be helpful. Everything is neat and clean.
Very nice, clean and friendly reception.
Everyone was friendly and helpful. The apartment is nice and big. There were no dish cloths in the flat. Everything was clean. There were only 4 of everything which meant we constantly had to wash dishes, although there's a dishwasher.
The location and appearance of the building is excellent but unfortunately some of the furniture in the rooms where I was at home is not up to standard. I was first put in a room that didn't have a good sea view and was then kindly transferred to another one where the view was beautiful. The rooms are nice and spacious and most of the facilities were quite acceptable and even good but the chairs had seen better days for a long time. Upgrading it (which won't cost that much) will definitely push the star rating up. The staff were always peaceful, courteous and helpful. I will go there again.
Very clean with helpful staff. Very good location.
Check-in, stay and check-out went smoothly.
It was very nice, neat and clean. People are very friendly and the atmosphere is great. Would definitely recommend people to stay there.
I thought I only booked a hotel room with 2 rooms, but then got a whole apartment (no. 6)! Though it rained occasionally, the space, views and short walking distance to town made for a pleasant experience.
Everything was so pleasant. From the moment we discussed. The reception and facilities were great. We will definitely come back.
We miraculously got an upgrade from a one bedroom that we paid for, to a two bedroom apartment. The staff were very nice!
Very nice and clean, spacious, quiet and incredible views and just around the corner from nice and popular restaurants!
We enjoyed every moment. Great service, friendly. Room was very neat and had more than we expected.
As always, The Point is a beautiful location. I just forget that it becomes quite noisy early in the morning. Also, maintenance was being done somewhere around the building and that was a disturbance to our morning sleep. We appreciated the honesty of the staff because we had left behind a tablet and 15 mins after checking out we received a call to say that we must turn back to collect the tablet found in our room.
The hotel is located conveniently close to restaurants within walking distance. While we were there it was really cold. The room is very cosy and spacious and it was nice and warm inside. Just a pity that the rooms don't have a sea view but it was close by to see it. The only thing that bothered us was the limited hanging space in the cupboard.
Value for money. Location was very good. Would recommend anytime. Service is excellent. Beautiful sea view. Only the stairs to apartment was a small problem, but the rest makes up for it.
Very friendly welcome on arrival, room was neat and clean, will stay there again and recommend.
We loved the location, the units have everything you need and clean.
Mosselbay is a very pretty and clean town, the people are friendly and the staff of Point Village Hotel are very friendly and helpful.
Value for money, neat, good location and safe.
The room, namely 12, is well located. However, the problem is permeability of sound to the rooms directly next to it. Furthermore, spacious sleeping and kitchen area and bathroom. No shower and no mirror in front which makes shaving difficult. Sink clogged. Other than that, no problem.
Very neat and clean. Tranquil and beautiful view.
After driving 1350 km from Durban we expected to have a good night's rest at the Point Village Hotel. Firstly, the sliding door leading onto the balcony could not be closed. In the morning hours around 03:00, the persons in the other room next to us came from some distance away and entered the hotel corridors with a loud noise without even thinking that there might be other people in the hotel who might like to sleep.
We were put in alley down the side of the building, next to the back service entrance. The room was tight due to its odd layout, bathroom was the only redeeming factor. Should have known when we were issued the remote control at the front desk that this was going to be a disaster. Booked and paid for two nights, cancelled after the first and found alternative.
On the website it says standard room only has a shower. Booked 1 but hotel refuses to give us a room with a shower that we paid for. Just get a room with a bath and very small sink in which you can barely wash your hands. Bath water runs in such a small stream that it takes 20 minutes just to pour in bath water. Drain stinks so bad you can't leave the bathroom door open. Other people park in your parking space for which you pay extra and then you are left without a parking space. Cleaners come into your room no matter if you hand in keys or not, even though the policy says they won't come in if you don't hand in your keys. The safe in the room does not work at all. Cleaners make so much noise that no one can think of sleeping after 8:00. Very unhappy and would not recommend to anyone. For the stars and the price, it's a waste of time.
They do not cater for hotel guests for parking. Had to walk 2 kilometers with suitcases from public parking. Know it's December, but allow for it.
Point Village Hotel met all of our expectations. Strongly recommended. Accommodation to fit your pocket thanks to LekkeSlaap.
Beautifully furnished units with everything needed in the kitchen. Child friendly and close to the beach and places to eat. Very nice views of the sea and lighthouse.
The apartment was clean and tidy. Washbasin in bathroom a bit small, you can only wash your hands carefully in it, otherwise the water will splash. They also didn't tell us that we could hand in the key the next day for clean towels etc. not. But staff is very friendly.
Very conveniently located with restaurants nearby.
We stayed in an apartment, it would've been more worth the money if there were 4 people. I would've wanted the bathrooms to be cleaner, I could see hair of the previous people. The bathroom is also not very practically arranged.
The apartment we had was beyond expectations. It was clean, big and the view is indescribable. You have to stay there to see for yourself. Everything you want is walking distance ─ there's only one description and it's great! I would recommend it to anyone anytime.
Very comfortable and tidy and well equipped! Will definitely book there again.
Our stay at Point Village Hotel was unbeatable. Neat, clean and comfortable units that are cleaned daily. Laundry service available and very friendly service at all times. Walking distance from the beach ─ great with the kids. Our family holiday for 2016 already booked. Can recommend Point Village Hotel anytime!
We enjoyed the stay very much. Your service is top notch as always.
Nice room with a sea view that has a small kitchen. Small porch that has a view of the sea. Value for money!
The reception was very friendly. The room was clean and the bedding was clean. The headboard of the bed was dirty. Didn't know if it was blood or rust stains. Sometimes there is a smell of drain/sewer water which was not pleasant. Because of the surf competition the noise was also bad. Doors that keep slamming etc. For the price I paid I could have done better, but I wanted to be walking distance to the beach. But the place has potential and I believe that the management can make it a place that you will want to go back to.
There were mud/cement splashes and smears on the bathroom door. The bathroom wall and ceiling were covered in mold. The floor was dirty. The walls are paper thin, you hear everyone's conversations and also everyone's water use as the pipes rattle. Internet is very erratic and terribly slow.
No air conditioning. DStv did not work well and the TV made noise. The bathroom ceiling was moldy. Breakfast was poor at nearby restaurants.
Although the hotel has been redone in bright colors and "retro" decorations, this was not a pleasant experience for us. The room's doors (including the bathroom) are difficult to open and close and there is no space in the bathroom to even change your mind, let alone your underwear! I specifically asked for a double or king size bed and booked it that way. Two single beds pushed together with a king-size sheet over them is not a king-size bed. It's damn uncomfortable to sleep on.
See the stars.
Would love to stay there again but for longer!
All I can say is "wow"! Thank you very much. It was worth every penny.
A nice room with a nice kitchen, big shower and nice view!
It was a gift to my brother and his wife for their wedding night. They really enjoyed it and were very impressed with everything, especially the "view"!
Good stay, no complaints.
Highly recommend.
The staff were very helpful and allowed us to check in a bit earlier which was much appreciated as we were tired from travelling. The room was particularly large and tidy.
It was a comfortable experience with the essentials in each room. However, the shower soaked the entire bathroom from behind the toilet, especially after the second person showered. The toilet paper holder is also in a very inconvenient position and caught my arm every time. The last complaint is that it is clearly stated at the beginning of each entrance that no noise is allowed after 9 o'clock in the evening, which was not the case with a group of school children running around above our heads every night until 2 o'clock in the morning and made noise, so much so that it woke us up every time. The service itself and reception were good, a porter might also be considered to help with unloading after a tiring journey. I would recommend it with the condition that there is not a school tour sleeping.
See the stars below.
Very helpful staff in reception. However: Toilet windows face into passage - not a good smell as you walk to your room. Shower not up to scratch. TV didn't work. It was clean but the funny smell on arrival seemed to stick in my nose for the time we were there. Maybe it was the paint they used in another room?
The noise of the lorry outside picking up bins early in the morning and the hotel's paper thin walls were very disturbing. Everything was clean and tidy, the bed is just very small. It felt like a three-quarter bed, not a double bed. We were also disappointed with the parking. Asked specifically about parking and was told that there is underground parking. But they didn't mention that it's "first come, first serve".
Close to all the action in Mossel Bay.
Very pleasant hotel, ideally situated for my needs. Will come again when next visiting Mossel Bay, and hopefully for a longer period next time.
Thea Sonnikus was very helpful and very nice. We will definitely stay there again.
Beautiful rooms with a self-catering kitchen. Close to the sea and restaurant. Near the supermarket. Good service from Annemarie. Nice barbecue on deck with sea view.
See the stars below.
A very interesting hotel almost with a European style. The room is neat, practical and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A prime location in Mossel Bay!
Well received by hosts. A good value for money accommodation, in a great location with stunning views.
We have enjoyed our stay and experienced no problems whatsoever.
I will choose that place at any given time. It was clean, spacious, private, honest staff, relaxing, soothing, and calming - especially when in your room overlooks the sea. I even forgot luggage and was notified. Everything was still intact in the luggage once it was returned.
It is a place where you can relieve your stress - very quiet. The views from the hotel are excellent.
Friendly, helpful staff and an excellent location.
This accommodation is possibly better suited as holiday accommodation. Not for business travellers.
