We really enjoyed our stay! The place was really clean, well equipped and well situated. We are really happy with our stay! And the pizza cafe and pub downstairs makes it even better for a quick meal or drink! Really impressed and would definitely recommend!

The cottage unit we booked was very neat and well equipped, but there were two or three aspects that should receive attention. During load shedding, the cottage is not part of the building that receives power from the generator and on two occasions I was unable to move in or out of the gate as there was a customer from the restaurant parked in front of the gate. There was also a guest on Saturday evening who apparently needed two parking spaces to fit his CF registration van.
All the necessary amenities and equipped with facilities ideal for travelers doing contract work in the area. Wifi in cottage was a little unstable at the time, but may have been due to "loadshedding" in the area. Will definitely use Pollocks again.
The unit is beautiful, super clean and tidy. Staff very friendly and helpful.
The apartments have all that one would need, and the location is in a nice area. Malls and restaurants are all within walking and driving distance.
It should be mentioned that it is right above a very busy bar and not just a pizza joint.
We had a nice stay in apartment no. 4. Very nicely furnished and spotlessly clean. We stayed there for 3 nights and would definitely recommend it. The restaurant, under the apartments, had very good food.
The good: Beautiful decor, comfortable bed, nice linen and towels, everything spotless and tidy. Secure parking behind a gate. The bad: When we arrived there was no indication where to check in, we had to call the number on the gate for someone to come open (no bell). When we left in the morning, we didn't know where to leave the key - a passerby suggested we leave the key at the back of the restaurant's kitchen. If you are young and like to hang out late at night, the place is perfect - above a very cozy pizza place/pub. Certainly not ideal for older people like us. Noise from the pub is disturbing, there is also a giant aircon unit that hums outside your window all night. Very steep stairs up to the rooms. When we showered in the morning there was not a drop of hot water (and yes, the geyser was on, we made sure the night before). Wifi password was not posted anywhere or communicated to us.
We travelled to George for a race (i. e. early mornings), so were not pleased by the location being above the bar. Only one small light for loadshedding purposes (that went flat very quickly). Past guest's belongings left in the flat. Flat was not ready by the check-in time.
A beautiful place with everything you need. We have in no. Stayed 5 and it was very pleasant - enough space for two, comfortable beds and a nice shower, soft linen and towels and safe parking. It's hard to imagine how it could improve.
Pollocks Place is the best place to book. Kindness is top notch. I enjoyed my weekend so much. There is so much to tell, please. you have to survive it yourself. Pollocks Place staff are the best.

As always, my stay at Pollocks was all I needed and more. Unit 4 is a smaller unit that does not fade in comparison to the bigger units. I have loved every unit I have stayed in, and each time I think it is my favourite. The unit may be more compact, but I found it cosy, and probably the one I would choose with my next booking again. The finishes, appliances, crockery, cutlery and linen are top notch - more than you would require but a really lovely touch. The linen and towels are of great quality and smell divine. I really just love staying here. I would recommend that the guest's wifi password is somewhere visible.
This is my home away from home when working in George for a few days. I am very fussy where I stay and this ticks all the boxes. It is spacious, and modern, with tasteful vintage touches. Super clean with quality bedding, towels, kitchen cutlery, utensils and appliances. Privacy is very important to me and the establishment provides that despite having a pub/restaurant on site. I would not stay anywhere else unless everyone discovers this hidden gem and the place is booked up!
You won't get better value for money than at Pollocks Place. Secure parking, units are large enough that you can comfortably stay there for a long time, clean and tidy with everything and more you need for a self-catering unit. The restaurant downstairs just makes it even more comfortable with delicious food. Perfect for single travelers or couples.

The staff are friendly, I had safe parking for my rental, the unit is equipped with all the necessities and a little more - high end appliances and utensils, comfortable, extremely clean and fresh. Parking may be a little tricky if you check in late, but the staff are very helpful in making sure your vehicle has a safe and secure parking spot behind a remote controlled gate. I will definitely return.

My stay was quite pleasant, no one bothers you with loud music, there is a restaurant downstairs that makes amazing food where the staff is also friendly. The place is fully equipped with everything you need. The owners were very nice and friendly and especially understanding when my stay was cut short. I would recommend this place to anyone staying for business or leisure.

At first when you arrive it looks deceiving, as the photos on the web don't show the outside, but once you walk upstairs and open your door, your whole perception changes, we started with a bit of a disappointment, no aircon, no oven, but Trix the owner was on top of it in a matter of hour there was an oven and an aircon, the customer service is impeccable, Trix, truly know how to satisfy her customers and the flatlets are spotless and beautiful, the location is perfectly central to all the activities and it is not difficult to find no matter where you are driving from or two. The smell of the freshly baked pizza from downstairs into your room on an evening basis and makes your mouth water. The pizzas are amazing. We had a wonderful stay and we would like to thank Trix for making us feel so at home and for filling all our requests, I would highly recommend this little gem in George to anyone.

Pollocks Place is accommodation above a pizza restaurant with a bar that the locals use as their place of entertainment/watering hole, there is music with loud noise/singing and shouting that goes on until after 12 at night, I booked for 5 nights and left after 3 nights. Trix (the owner) advised me that she doesn’t normally refund, however, she did eventually. This is definitely not the place to stay if you are looking for a good night's sleep. Would I recommend or stay there again? Definitely not.
No indication of load shedding schedule. The gate was open upon our arrival. I called on Friday morning to report that the remote was not working and a relative of the owner said I could open the gate. This was also the case on Saturday afternoon and Sunday evening. Secure parking debatable. The unit is advertised as being on top of a restaurant with a bar. More of a pub or bar! After a survey was sent to the owner, she said that at least you can't hear it when the doors and windows are closed. So don't expect to open windows, and in that case don't expect a fan or air conditioner. If you want to hang out and shout and don't expect to sleep much, this is the place for you. Lick-wake at Pollocks Place. This is not worth the money! We would have liked to move to another accommodation after the 1st night, but George was quite fully booked and Pollocks Place had already been paid in full.

The owners are very accommodating people. The unit I stayed in is modern and fairly well equipped. The location does have a problem with road noise. It's on a main route through George and certain drivers sometimes use the road to speed. Then there is the problem of residents around the property keeping illegal farm animals. I was woken up every morning between 04:30 and 05:00 by a rooster crowing. The owners did try to locate its source, without success. I was offered alternative accommodation which I declined, but the point is that residents in this area don't care about country laws and this could have an impact on tourism.
The residence and parking are placed in a very inconvenient location.
The coffee and milk were not right. 1 bag of Ricoffy and powdered milk. 1 small towel per person. Beds were very nice.

Although Pollocks Place is situated above a restaurant, there is not much noise coming in. It's a lovely place to stay and quite central. Fancourt is within walking distance and the area is ideal for cycling and jogging.

A stone's throw from George Airport with quick access to the motorway allowing you to explore the surrounding area without spending unnecessary time in traffic in George. Modern amenities that met all my needs. Friendly reception and safe parking.

This establishment is incorrectly advertised, it is located above a sports bar (which is not advertised as such). The noise does not stop till 3 AM. So don't expect a decent sleep. After asking for WiFi code, was told there was a problem, so no internet for duration of stay. Oh, yes, please bring your own towels, as none were supplied, we had to go out and buy.
