Housekeeping and reception staff friendly and helpful. Looking forward to the renovation planned for 2024! I would recommend that with the renovation the owner(s) should also install backup power as it gets very hot during load shedding if the fans don't work.

The chalet we were in was very clean and bigger than we expected, the rooms and beds were immaculately clean, the kitchen facilities and view near the lagoon and pools were good.
I wished that I could stay longer. Just a rude male that came into our unit looking for brandy glasses that he left there. He was bullish and just came in that was really uncalled for. I don't drink and my son had beers only that we put into recycling bins.
More activities please.
Not at all like the photos on the web page and rooms don't look like that either, everything is old. The activities advertised are a joke vs what they really offer. I don't know how to classify that they have a kids club. Adult activities also not available. Please don't waste your time or money.
Very nice stay. Everything was convenient and close.
WiFi reception is power, will need to install repeater to maintain stable internet connection. Room was not serviced, left the spare key for the person who has to clean the room. Amenities in room are good, except the cleanliness can improve a lot.
This was a pamper weekend! The staff are particularly friendly and helpful, our unit was clean and tidy with modern facilities and comfortable beds. My kids could play to their heart's content while we watched them from the porch and we had a jetty right in front of our cottage where our boat was anchored, which was very convenient. This will definitely not be our last visit!
It's cheap, neat, quiet and very well equipped. I would come again anytime and recommend people. You can just add a few spiritual channels on DStv.

It was really a wonderful getaway. That location was awesome. And the service was great! Rooms were fully equipped and neat. I would also recommend the spa for that extra pampering. We will definitely visit again!

No further comments. We only slept there for one night and it was quiet and we were well rested for the next day's trip.
Although we asked to stay in an apartment with no stairs to climb, we still had to climb a set of stairs. We were in no 25 and had to climb up to 25 from the parking area. Fortunately, the staff were so friendly and arranged for a friendly porter to load our luggage onto a trolley and deliver it to our apartment. Thank you very much, it is appreciated.
Braai was not cleaned and no gas. Manager could not help us and had to buy a braai. This was disappointing.
Everything was perfect for my parents' 40th Wedding Anniversary and the room was specially done with treats from Kashifa. Thank you for your effort.

The accommodation is bigger than we expected and has everything you can think of, even a washing machine and tumble dryer.
New reception area, very nicely done. Apartment we stayed in needs serious maintenance. Walls, curtains, carpets, porch dirty. Gas bottle at braai was empty. One towel in unit when we arrived. Get the impression that management has no finger on the pulse. Parking area, balconies are used as storage areas. After our fifth visit, the general impression is that things are deteriorating rapidly.
The description of the complex and the photos do not give the real picture. The complex is extremely poorly planned, especially considering the climate. From the reception area you have to brave wind and rain up a slope to reach the lower level and then up an open double set of stairs to reach the second level to an open corridor in front of the residential units. If you like water sports this is very average accommodation. If not, it is not good at all.
Good customer service, everyone was friendly and willing to help. It’s a perfect place to unwind and relax.

The apartment was lovely and clean and had everything we could possibly need. A lovely place that will definitely see me again.
The apartments area clean and spacious. Quiet and peaceful so you can totally relax. Nice activities for the kids. We will definitely be back.
We stayed four days and really enjoyed the time. Only problem was when a bunch of local people came to put their boat in the river on the Saturday night. It happened around 11 o'clock at night and was accompanied by a fair amount of noise and swearing. The "game room" for the children is a bit cramped, but otherwise we really enjoyed the stay.
I can recommend Port Owen to anyone who loves nature. You are warmly welcomed and the facilities are excellent. There is so much to do: from cycling, paddling and walking to bird watching. We will return again and again. Thanks to Port Owen's staff for their wonderful hospitality!
