We had no towels. On arrival we were told we could only leave the key in the door on the morning of departure. We asked before booking if the room included breakfast. On the morning of departure there was no one in sight or any breakfast. We left the key in the door as requested on arrival.
Welcome was awesome. It is a beautiful place that is very tastefully furnished. Amenities are top class.
Lovely massive bed, nicest bathroom, the room's decor is very tasteful and it's quiet and peaceful in the area.
First, the room I booked (Lux Unit 2) is advertised as a "stand-alone unit". This is a misleading form of marketing as this room, although not in the main house itself, forms part of a row of three adjoining rooms with walls so thin that, whether you like it or not, one can hear conversations in the adjoining departure can follow without difficulty. This form of deception, intentional or not, is unacceptable. Second, when one weighs the costs of the room against what you receive in return, one can't help but feel that one is being blatantly exploited. This is by far the most expensive I have paid for accommodation in Potch in the last five years and then the room does not even have, for example, a microwave oven, electric blankets on the bed, air freshener or face towels in the bathroom. The DStv did not work and the boiler leaked. The room is indeed beautifully and tastefully furnished, but is so small that there is very little room to move and one almost feels caged in. Lastly, the cupboards and drawers were dusty and the bedding and curtains were full of stains. The owner did respond quickly and had everything cleaned without hesitation (and apologized profusely), but it should have been clean in the first place - regardless of how much one pays for a room. So anyone looking for value for money should drive by.
The guest house was beautiful, neat and clean. We were made very welcome and would definitely recommend it. We will stay there again.
We can definitely recommend this guest house. We were warmly welcomed. The house is modern and large, spotlessly clean and very luxurious. Our room was very comfortable with air conditioning. Secure parking. Please support this guest house.
The guest house is well located and close to the town and engineering faculty. The area is nice and quiet and easily accessible.
We were very hospitably received and would only gladly recommend Potch Manor. All that was missing was a small fridge and a hairdryer. The guest house is really well located and very beautifully maintained.
