It was the ideal stay, especially as we had never been to Knysna, the place was easy to find, and exceptionally beautiful.
The location of the resort is great, and the views are beautiful. However, the fact that there was no Wi-Fi available in the chalets, nor was there any backup power whilst we were in Stage 4 of loadshedding detracted from the experience. Also, the roof of the chalet leaked rain all onto the bed when it rained, and the shower drain was quite blocked. The blocked drain can be excused, but when the roof was leaking and we tried to contact reception on both numbers, there was no answer. That made that night not very nice.
It was disappointing that this hotel has no provision for "loadshedding". It was acceptable that the rooms had no power, but even the kitchen had no power. It was also inconvenient that there is no food available between 10 and 2, as breakfast finishes at 10 and the other restaurant doesn't open until 2. My husband was very hungry after cycling 100 km, and then we had to go to the Waterfront to get food. Despite these issues, the rooms are beautiful and the surroundings very peaceful and beautiful.
Beautiful hotel with top notch service and extremely friendly and helpful staff. Delicious food.
This was one of the best places we have stayed at and we will definitely make use of it again. Location was great.
