The facilities were excellent. Very friendly and helpful staff. The only criticism is there was no Friday night entertainment. You have to venture into Sea Point for music or live entertainment.

I was very disappointed in my room. I booked an Ocean View Room and got one of the horrible side rooms facing the hotel. It was a lot of money to spend for a side view looking into other hotel rooms.
We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and the hotel decorated the room specially and provided free sparkling wine and snacks.

The only issue I had were the smoking area. The one was in the sun. I feel like the smokers are banished to the far corners of the world.

The President Hotel is really a wonderful hotel, it is very neat. Rooms are nice and big and it is located so close to the beach. Also really enjoyed breakfast, great variety to choose from. Sometimes had a bit of trouble with the waiters, because it gets very busy and then your order takes a bit too long.
Centrally situated, walking distance from shops, markets and the lovely promenade. The hotel is very clean, restaurants are exceptional with awesome waiters. Friday evening family night was a huge hit with my daughter. She also enjoyed the swimming pool and convenient play area. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

Poor room location - basement! Breakfast was booked, staff didn't know and wanted to charge me again. Nothing special at all.
When I checked in the balance was still outstanding on their system and they wanted me to pay after I've settled my balance with agency. Saturday evening order something from kitchen (room service ), half an hour later followed up only to find the order was not placed and had to order again.

The overnight stay in a "suite" in the President Hotel, the opening night of Coenie de Villiers and Deon Meyer's Karoo Suite 2 and a meal at the Hussar Grill in Kampsbaai were all part of a birthday treat. Everything was great except the bedroom in the President Hotel which was really a huge disappointment. The couch and one of the chairs by the bare kitchen table were broken and tired. The curtains also looked shabby. Apart from a floor lamp in one corner, there are no decorative pieces in the room. The television only has Sky News which you can watch if you sit on one of the kitchen chairs. You sadly sink into the broken couch. There are two plates, knives and forks and two glasses but nothing else. The bedroom and bathroom are acceptable. The living room reminds people of a shabby room in an old boarding house that has seen better days. The lobby, reception, service and breakfast are very good. However, we will never go back and cannot recommend the hotel. Sober knows how the place got a 4 star rating.
Could not use the pool because it was so full with day visitors. The pool is so small and on the hottest day of the year it was so full with day visitors. We were told the hotel was filled to max capacity, but yet they allowed non-residents to use the pool. We sat in our room with the aircon on and were not even able to use the swimming pool. When we asked for a room with a better view since we had to sit in our room all day, we were told they were full. However, on booming sites there were many available rooms. On Sunday, we were woken up by a fire alarm, we scrambled to pack our stuff and rush downstairs only to be told there's nothing wrong. It would've helped if they told us that before we panicked and packed up so quickly. It is not a nice hotel. No value for money. Never again.

Everyone was friendly and helpful from the moment we drove in, they did a special turndown for my wife because we were there for her birthday, she was over the moon, set up the most beautiful room for us until dinner with a dessert with her name up. It was noticeable that nothing was too much trouble and any requests were attended to immediately. I would suggest that the units with kitchens like we had were a little better equipped with cutlery, plates etc. as well as kitchen cloths if one spills something. We had to use the white bathroom towels for the purpose!

Hotel downgraded 2 of the 3 rooms I booked because they were full. It was also a struggle on arrival to find my reservation. I also chose the option with breakfast, only to be told it wasn't included. It was disappointing.
The only let down was the inaccuracy of our payments and incorrect info on Argus race day.

The friendly services at the President Hotel is outstanding I loved every minute of stay. I just want to highlight one thing though, the two three quarter beds put together, is not a good idea at all, it is uncomfortable, and caused a bit of back pain. I strongly recommend a full mattress in future for my next stay please. I had a great stay in general, and would recommend the President Hotel, for a breakaway from the madness of life for peace, and tranquility. Thank you so much President Hotel for making it possible to me and my better half for enjoying ourselves at a home away from home.

Location is very good. The hotel restaurant's food is delicious, and the service very good. Gym sessions - although we booked for the gym there were always others turning up. Against the hotel's so-called COVID rules. Parking: R60 per day for outside parking? But we were safe and slept well and didn't get cold!
The location of the hotel is very good. The rooms are tidy, I just would suggest an extra sheet and blanket to replace a duvet at night due to that with the duvet it gets very hot at night. Otherwise, it was worth the cost.

The hotel looks like it has been redone recently, or they keep it very neat and clean! We had a nice stay in the very short time we were there. All negative points were that we did not know that breakfast was not included in the rate. The breakfast was a buffet type, with a large variety of choices. The "hot" food was lukewarm/cold which kind of ruined the breakfast.
I would have loved to experience the bar and sit-down restaurant but due to Covid Level 4 regulations it was closed.
R60 parking per day charged for open parking but there is no open parking available?
The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly, the location was excellent and made travelling around easy. I was just disappointed with the rooms which was not cleaned to expectation.
Toilet leaking - Room 230 reported but not fixed. Quite noisy staying in the sea-facing rooms overlooking the pool. Window in the room did not close properly.

There was no air conditioning in our room and it was extremely hot. Not even a fan. There were no sheets on the bed, which made the heat even worse as you only had the heavy duvet cover to cover yourself with.

Breakfast is too expensive. You are not told in advance that you have to pay for parking. I felt ambushed. The air conditioner did not work well, so the room was not cool. The laundry room was opposite our room and had a bad odour. I did report it to the hotel management and they kept the door closed. There should be some basic crockery in the room.
Parking is a problem. You pay R60 per day to park and then there is no open parking available, very poor. Service at Poolbar is poor, wait for hours. I paid deposit and upon check in there was no evidence.

We had a problem with the water temperature in the shower, lukewarm. Had to be sorted out twice during our stay of 4 nights. The bathroom was tiny , and the room was smaller than I imagined. Breakfast was average and very slow service.
President Hotel is very well located. The hotel's location means that you are close to all the attractions such as the Castle and Two Oceans Aquarium.

The first morning I was woken up by people shouting in the corridors before 7am. The second morning it was children running up and down. It is a non-smoking hotel but some people were seen smoking at their windows. I will definitely not come back.
