Caledon's loadshedding was terrible. One suggestion I might make is that there is a kettle that can work on the gas plate. We heated water in a pan for coffee. And then also more than 1 toilet roll would be welcome. Other than that I have absolutely no complaints.

We had the most wonderful stay at Protea Cottage while attending a wedding close by. The cottage was perfectly located to make getting to a from the wedding activities with ease. Elanza was always available for questions and super accommodating. The cottage was perfectly tidy and equipped with all the essentials. Would stay at the Protea Cottage again.

Very nice interior and style. Comfortable beds. Very nice braai area. Very affordable. Good showers and hot water. Very nice owner who was willing to let us check in earlier to get ready for the wedding. Driving distance near wedding venue Die Woud (7 min). Walking distance close to the town/shops (although unfortunately there are people walking past in the street). Only parking for 1 car behind gate, other car must park on yard outside house. Very nice place for a group of friends or family.
The cottage has everything that was needed, the bathroom and kitchenette were fully equipped, and implements such as kettle, microwave, coffee machine, etc., were of a very good standard. Only the kitchen sink faucet sometimes falls out, but worked very well.

We were impressed with the cleanliness and location of the cottage. It was wonderfully quiet and comfortable for us to rest. The outbuilding was a bit hot and stuffy for our friends. Our hostess did not come to meet us, or see us, or ask if everything was to our satisfaction.

We had a great stay at the Protea Cottage. The entire house was very clean and tidy. Probably the best bed I've slept on at a guest house. All in all, I would definitely recommend this house. Lastly, like I said in the title, great value for money.

The house has everything you need and is nicely presented. There were quite a lot of people walking by and talking at night, but it didn't really bother us.

No lockup parking for vehicle. Driveway is okay, but suggest a gate.
