We had a wonderful stay with amazing views.
We had a wonderful stay. The house is well equipped with solar power and everything you need for a farm break. Unfortunately we only stayed 1 night. Would definitely recommend.
The views are simply breathtaking! We loved everything about ProudFoot Farm, watching the mist rolling in, and hearing an animal's cry in the middle of the night, it was really a wonderful experience. The peace and quiet is just what we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our walk. Aloe Hill cottage had everything we needed and was very modern.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A little more dusting and TLC is needed though. Nonetheless we had a blast. A nice big garden for the doggies - however, I do wish the main house had another fence - fencing it off from the cottage. This would make it a little more private, as guests from the cottage wouldn't be able to come into your space, as well as keeping your dog from wandering to the cottage side. The view was amazing. We loved the stoep and making a fire at night to sit around. All in all a good weekend away!
I was desperately disappointed. its a beautiful place in a serene setting. can be a perfect holiday. however the fridge was not working. i ended up losing about R600 meat, plus vegetables and dairy products. . the furniture in the picture was different and my elderly mother was not able to use the couch. the shower and bathroom basin drains were blocked. i had to check out after the first night because no matter what the loss of food meant i would have to travel the distance to town and back to replenish. . the host did offer to return the original furniture but unfortunately this would make no difference to the financial loss already sustained. . these are the two major factors affecting my decision. and it does not include the lack of forewarning of the nasty spiders all over (brrrrr), ticks which were not only from the garden but i found one embedded on my leg the morning after i woke up. . the host was very apologetic and offered to refund 1/3 of my reservation. . in light of the upfront financial loss of foods plus the inconveniences suffered plus the fact that she may very well have been able to get another booking in my place I would like to request no less than my deposit as a refund. please.

It was delicious. Last 5 km a bit wild, but we all had vans.
It was relaxing and beautiful.
We absolutely enjoyed the house, we had the most beautiful and breathtaking views. The surrounding mountains were amazing. The house it self was very beautiful, very clean and spacious. We had everything that we needed when it came to cutlery. The weather was very cold so the gas heater was very helpful. The only thing I think may is the DStv charge, we had assumed that it would be connected but we had to pay for it separately, and also the electricity had to be shut for it to recharge but we used it very sparingly and did not waste it at all. Either than that it was a fantastic vacation.
Quiet and beautiful. Far away from the rush of the city. Best place to unwind and recharge.
The house was well equipped. The bird life was prolific and there were numerous walks. Proudfoot is definitely the place to go if you want to get away from it all!

Beautiful setting; relaxing holiday lived by adults, children and dogs alike.
Proudfoot served our purposes of a writing group reconnecting with an old member, long gone overseas, very well. The setting is spectacular. The house is spacious, comfortable, attractive. We really did need our 4x4 for the last km of the road. We were glad there was no serious rain. There were a few glitches: a downstairs shower with an unbalanced water mixer, a dead rat in kitchen ceiling that could be smelled in the bedroom above, but given the reasonable pricing, this did not dampen our enjoyment. We would have really appreciated some marked out walks (but we 'made' our own.)
Road to house was no problem and with property off the grid - solar power and gas more than served our needs. Lovely fireplace kept us warm & cosey and the snow capped mountains in the distance, beautiful sunsets, and wonderful walks with our dogs made our stay very memorable.
We had a wonderful stay. It was beautiful and peaceful. Great place to just relax!
So calm. The days just went by too fast. I will definitely visit again next year. Everything was 100%!
