If you are looking for rest for your soul, Pumula is the place to go. Chalets very well furnished. Swimming pool is definitely a plus, especially in the summer. Will definitely visit again.

Very nice stay in the tranquility and beauty of the Bosveld. Cool off in the chalet's swimming pool if it gets too hot, with a beautiful view. The outdoor shower is comfortably furnished. Lots of wildlife seen and fish caught too. Will visit the place again for sure.
This is a nice private unit. Very comfortable and well equipped. Just not a fan or air conditioning in living area, but that's nothing bad. Will definitely return again for a getaway.
It was a good experience so close to nature. Accommodation very neat, well equipped and private. Great relaxing by the pond. Unfortunately no success with fishing. However, they may consider another DSTV package. Missed our sport on 201 on Saturday.
Room was very clean, but unfortunately we were treated like school children upon our arrival. The receptionist was not at all impressed when I called her for a code to enter the gate, and made me understand very well that I should read my WhatsApp messages as they had already been sent to me.
We really enjoyed our stay at Pumula Lodge. The unit (Thanda) was spacious and well equipped. The cherry on top is the outdoor shower! We loved the tranquility of the farm and enjoyed the hike (Nyala route) and the drive to the dam.
The barbecue area is sheltered and private. We will definitely visit there again. It was lovely to ride around the farm and look for the animals, next time the mountain bikes will definitely go with you! There are card games, but would recommend that there could be more TV channels to choose from, especially in the evening. There are many other attractions that visitors can visit in the area. The unit is really tastefully furnished and all the necessary accessories in the kitchen are there. We really had a lovely peaceful weekend! Thank you very much!

Had a liberating feeling being in the peace and tranquillity that comes from living in the bush with nature. The children enjoyed the animals and the hike. The facility was immaculately clean and the host was wonderful.
Pumula Lodge is the ideal place for an incredibly peaceful and relaxing break. All the units are wonderfully equipped with everything needed. The electric blankets in winter are a pleasant surprise! We were a group of 24 friends and each and every one of us will definitely go there again.

The chalets are absolutely beautiful and luxurious. We booked the 2 chalets Thanda and Thulile for the weekend and shared a splash pool which was just perfect for the 4 of us. The walking trails kept us pretty busy and we were gone for almost 3 hours. Pumula Lodge will definitely see us again, as this is the ideal getaway from the city life. We had a wonderful stay. The unit was spotless, properly equipped, and it's the perfect getaway from the city. We stayed in the Jabulani unit, which sleeps 6. The area outside by the pool and barbecue is lovely, and during the game drives we saw zebras, blue wildebeest, nyala, kudus, impalas and blesboks. There are nice hiking trails during which we also saw wildlife. Pumula lodge is really nice and safe, unit nice and spacious, and we took beautiful sunset photos. We will definitely go again.

Ronel's communication was always thorough, effective and timely. Would definitely recommend for families with small children. The fact that one can walk or cycle everywhere and can go have a picnic or fish at the dam was an extra treat. Our unit, Jabulani, was spacious, tidy, private and the swimming pool overlooks the Bushveld. There is also a lot to see and do in the nearby area. The children visited the "Cheetah Experience" and really enjoyed it. Next time we stay longer!

It was a lovely place to stay and get away with friends. Every night we made a big fire around the boma area and during the day went walking, riding and kayaking in the pond. On our arrival, Ronel welcomed us and effectively helped us to book in and explained about our surroundings for the weekend. We were done within 15 minutes and ready for a peaceful weekend. The weekend consisted of a nice walk from the place of residence to the dam. There are also several routes back past Blue Wildebeest, Zebra and Blesbok that keep a close eye on you because they are timid. It was also wonderful to wet the line in the pond, and watch the feelers. We always felt safe here on Pumula, and the facilities are clean and tidy with everything you would want for such a getaway. For us, the high point was the nature, no noise, and the rain falling over the Boslved with the smell of earth! Thanks Pumula's people - we got what we were looking for for the weekend.

An ideal place for a peaceful getaway. The house is comfortable and very well-equipped. Everything was neat and clean and we appreciated the finer details such as the electric blankets and soap at the dam facilities. The house and farm has burglar bars on the windows. It made us feel safe.
We had a great stay and enjoyed the weekend. Perhaps the owners can purchase a four-wheel motorcycle for families who arrive with their cars. It is a bit difficult to get to the dam and the animals with a car.
I think the owners are very pleasant and welcoming. They take pride in the lodge and keep it spotless. That in itself is so welcoming. Pumula Lodge is a beautiful Bushveld place. There is nice walking space with lots of wildlife and birds. Overall, our stay in Thanda (Love) was wonderful and we can recommend it. The unit is spacious with everything very neat and clean. The only thing that bothered us was that the partition wall with the other duet unit is not soundproof and as a result you can clearly hear the other people's normal conversations in their room and bathroom.

We received a very friendly and generous welcome, the accommodation was very luxurious, the extras e.g. electric blankets a surprise, and the overall impression was excellent. All accessories are there, everything works. The peace and quiet among the wildlife in the heart of the woodland is food for the soul. Look no further, if this place is available and you need peace and quiet for a few days, book now. We will definitely go again. The unit was also very well cleaned daily, we walked into a spotless little house every day after golfing.

Great getaway, just what was needed to end the year on a high note. The duplex unit we stayed in was very comfortable and the layout of the chalets is such that each unit can have its own piece of privacy, peace and quiet. The outdoor shower was an absolute plus, especially for the kids and the sparkling swimming pool was all too lovely after our hiking/cycling. Fishing with the kids has never been so fun - the pond has fresh water flowing in, a spacious canopy for shelter from the hot bushveld sun and a nearby ablution facility. Pumula is wholeheartedly recommended for any family/family that doesn't want to get too far from the city and appreciates nature. The chalet was very clean, neat and well-appointed. It is a beautiful place and you can really get some R&R there. We went hiking and saw quite a few antelope and bird species. The only possible improvement would be air conditioning in the units, becaus eit is quite hot, even with the ceiling fan, and when you leave the door and windows open at night insects and creepy crawlies enter. But we loved it and we will be back.

Jabulani – Joy. Our weekend at Pumula in Jabulani exceeded all our expectations! Jabulani is beautifully and comfortably furnished for six people. The kitchen is well equipped and tidy with enough cupboards. A good night's rest is ensured by the very comfortable beds - the bed linen is of good taste, clean and fresh. The swimming pool and braai place are the nicest place to relax. One cannot get enough of the beautiful rock garden with the sound of the wind gently rustling through the leaves of the bushes. The lovely nature painting and the tranquility of the forest make the stoep the very best place to visit. During our game drives, impalas, wildebeests and zebras were not at all shy when we ambushed them. The weekend was just what we needed! Rest, peace and quiet in the forest.
My husband and I spent a weekend at Pumula Lodge and it was fantastic! Our unit (Thulile) was spotless, neat and well equipped. The plunge pool, a short distance from Thulile and hidden in the bush, offers a beautiful view and relief from the heat. The owner, Jans Rautenbach, is a friendly, warm and helpful person. So, don't take any notice of the previous negative reviews nie — simply bring your own wood. Jan's wife Ronel was friendly and quick to answer emails. I really recommend Pumula Lodge. You won't be disappointed.

We were at Pumula for the weekend with our married children and grandchildren. The houses are beautifully furnished, nothing was missing - from braai facilities to enough crockery, a big enough fridge and nice treats with a dishwasher. The children enjoyed their time in the pool and the freedom of the forest. I can truly recommend Pumula. Only negative thing I can mention: We were 6 adults with 1 eight year old and 3 toddlers. The large house was quite adequate for everyone to sleep as it has very spacious rooms and large double beds. We could only get one inflatable mattress for the little guy then there was no need to book a second house. I hope that in the future they will be more lenient about this.

Accommodation is fantastic, with everything you need. If possible go with a 4X4 as a normal car can't go everywhere on the farm.
It's a very peaceful environment and we were able to relax on the porch! The unit is very specially furnished and especially the room and bathroom are really a big treat! Only one thing that bothered me a bit: on the website it looked like this was a detached unit, but unfortunately there is an adjoining unit right next to this one, and we could hear the talking from the other unit.
The tranquility is something to get used to the first night. This is exactly what one needs at this time of year.

Overall it was fine. A little disappointed in the size. Was very small and compact, had to fetch some things of our own for the kitchen and there was no oven. It was not 4 star.

Received a warm welcome. The accommodation is spotless, luxurious and no amenities are missing. The staff are friendly and helpful. It was wonderful to break away from the busy city life, to be able to enjoy the natural beauty and to be able to relax. The residential units are located in such a way that you don't even know if there are other people, it's very private and there are no disturbances. Will definitely visit there again.

Great place for a very quiet and peaceful break away. It is a very clean, well thought out set up. Ideal for 2 people and space for an additional teenager - though, perhaps a more comfortable set up from a sleeping arrangement point of view could be considered.

The stay at the lodge was very relaxing, the unit was clean and comfortable. My kids enjoyed the open spaces. Would definitely go back for a week-end stay since it is also very close to Johannesburg.

The house is tidy, very well furnished and with enough space. The outdoor shower was a nice experience (even in July) and the setting was beautiful. It is calm and peaceful and very relaxing there. We saw quite a lot of wildlife and were able to walk around everywhere. We will definitely visit the place again.

The sleeping units are very neat, clean and comfortable. We had a great time .... you are close to nature. There is plenty of wildlife to see on the self-drive routes. I would definitely recommend it if you need a quiet weekend. Thanks Pumula!

It was a little bit far out but the 20km drive to the Lodge was well worth it. Very clean, very homely and so peaceful. I would definitely go back there and reccommend to my friends and family.

Not very private as walls quite thin and bath difficult to get out of for Senior citizens. However, the owners are very friendly and helpful.

I told my friends about Pumula and when I booked this trip, they wanted to join me, but Pumula was fully booked on the dates they wanted to come. This place is great, especially for people who are visiting the area. No bus or car noises, just waking gently to the sound of birds. *I love it* and I think we will come back very soon.

There are 2 units. Thanda means “love” in Zulu and Thulile means "peace" in Zulu. These 2 units are next to each other with separate entrances to ensure privacy. Each luxurious unit has a modern feel with high thatch roof ceilings. Each unit has a large bedroom with a queen-sized bed, a built-in cupboard, and an en-suite bathroom with an outdoor shower. Fine-quality percale linen and bath sheets are provided. There is a bunk bed in the lounge for the children in Thanda and a single bed and sleeper couch in Thulile. There are fans in the bedroom and lounge.
For your private use, the unit is equipped with a fully fitted kitchen with a fridge-freezer, microwave oven, gas stove, and all the necessary cooking utensils and cleaning supplies. There is a dinette suitable for indoor dining and an open-plan lounge with TV, and DStv with select channels.
There is a private covered patio with a table and chairs and a braai area. A cold water splash pool is situated 30m in the bush with an awesome bushveld view, shared by only the two units.
Your accommodation includes a cleaning service for the outdoor areas. All you need to provide is swimming towels, food, coffee, tea, flashlight, clothes. Firewood can be purchased at reception.
The farm consists of bushveld and savannah, there are zebra, wildebeest, blesbok, impala, nyala, and smaller game species on the farm. Guests are invited to take self-guided game drives. The property offers canoeing and fishing (bring your own rod and tackle). There is a playground near the units for the little ones. Guests are also invited to bring their mountain bikes to ride on the farm.
