Johan and Sonja make so much effort to make you feel at home. They provide everything you need and all the little 'attention to detail' was there like the sherry on a cold winter's day and the plate of delicious food. Facilities were clean and very comfortable and the electric blanket was just right for a cold night.
Many thanks Johan and Sonja for a true Karoo experience. The hospitality and love radiate from you. Thanks for all the chats and showing around the farm. Not to mention the delicious olives and pomegranates. We will definitely visit again.
It's really so much more than we expected. It's a beautiful place, with beautiful people and the nature around us was so beautiful. Wish we could have stayed longer, but would certainly choose the place first to sleep at Oar again anytime. You will regret it if you don't experience it yourself. ️.
Very nice, peaceful, safe and comfortable overnight. Everything you need, well located to sleep over for a "road" trip. Beautifully clean and tidy, and truly "pure farm", you just feel like a different person.

For us city jays, PurePlaas was delicious. The Karoo silence is wonderful. Sonja and Johan know how to pamper you with coffee and biscuits and a bacon tree to cherish the experience forever.
The apartment is beautiful, everything is spotless and really cute!
The owners are very hospitable. Everything you need was available, even with loadshedding. Not too far out of town, just far enough to get the Karoo feel. With two beautiful dogs who are very friendly and just might protect you as if they were their own. Sit on the porch every morning with a cup of coffee and dry biscuits and you are in the best place. And to never forget where you've been, the bacon tree will remind you.
We felt pampered from the moment we arrived at the farm and the surroundings are beautiful, especially if the Klein Karoo is in your blood. The springboks and ostriches enchanted us and the stars are so bright in the evening. There is a silence that brings peace. It's real shut-down accommodation and nothing is missing. May the Karoo get rain soon and the people be blessed.

Wonderful hosts. Very friendly people. The view from the cottage is to die for.
The accommodation was very comfortable and has everything you want. We were made to feel so special by our hosts. It is a tranquil, peaceful location and suited us completely. It will always be our first choice when travelling to that area.
Pure Plaas is conveniently located between various attractions and Oudshoorn. And the farm's own animals are literally on your doorstep (at least fenced). The site is safe for children and there are gates that can be closed everywhere. The farm as a whole can accommodate quite a few guests; apart from the residential unit there is also a large farmhouse for guests as well as a wedding venue. Everything is still well located so you can enjoy your privacy. The residential unit is very well equipped with everything you can think of: From a braai pan to flash and is very tidy. It's definitely a place where you can get away. There's coffee, tea, sugar, milk and biscuits that can last a few days. And the chocolate treat and plant as a gift is wonderful! Definitely one of the best places to experience the kindness of the rural people. Thank you, Sonja and Wilna.
From the contact in advance to our departure at the end, everything went smoothly. The accommodation is top notch and Sonja and Johan are very friendly. Dir was like our home, just in a different place! For us, the Karoo, with everything it has to offer, remains a top destination in South Africa!
PurePlaas is a beautiful place with a beautiful view. It's a wonderful place for peace and quiet, yet close enough to all the activities in the area. The stoep with its view of the ostriches is a bonus, as well as all the extra treats.
Beautiful, characterful accommodation with the feeling of pure farm, as it is at ostrich camps with special Little Karoo views and sounds. Warm welcome, clean, peaceful and comfortable accommodation!
