Lovely place. Peaceful and quiet and we had everything we needed. The host was amazing too, always ready to answer any questions I had.
We had such a nice stay! The location is excellent and I only wish we had taken the opportunity to rent the canoe as well. It's just next to the river and we could see the beautiful flamingos.
We stayed with another couple for a weekend. The house is very well appointed with everything you need. It is comfortable for 4. Nice outdoor braai area. Very close to everything.

Please check your bed before you retire - we had bloodstain surprises - bedding not changed. Well equipped apartment.

Loadshedding makes a breakaway miserable if the place is not equipped to deal with the issue. DSTV bouquet was very limited, surprising for an upmarket rental.

The house is located in a residential area just one street above the river - the one room has a partial view of the river. We could just walk down the road and paddle the kayak. Inside, the place is spotless with high-quality appliances at your disposal. The beds and bedding are of excellent quality. Everything was so convenient for us and we really enjoyed exploring the West Coast from Quay West.
Everything you need is in the unit and also close to many other small, beautiful towns.

We had a wonderful stay at Quay West. Marion and Melanie were professional and exceedingly helpful with all our requests. The accommodation was truly wonderful, we especially loved the multi-head showers, as well as the lovely furnishings and the top-of-the-range appliances. And Velddrif is so safe with so many amenities close at hand. Our stay was definitely too short, and as we told Melanie, we will most definitely be back.

A very convenient location from which we were able to easily travel out and back on a daily basis to various destinations on the West coast and inland towards the Cedarberg.
What a lovely, cosy, well-run guesthouse, a great find and memorable stay indeed. We had wet and cold weather, but we enjoyed the lovely fireplace and electric blankets. Clean and tidy. The house has everything you need. The booking process was long and drawn out and there were extra charges for admin after the booking was paid and completed. The owner kicked a bunch with people who stole from her and made us feel like she didn't trust us. Be prepared to send your ID documents to someone you will never meet in person. There are cameras around the house. I hope there are no cameras inside the house. There is a bar not too far from it which fortunately only made noise on Friday night and was quiet by midnight due to lockdown. The houses are very close to each other, luckily the neighbors are very friendly. The beds and decor are good quality. Bathrooms have enough hot water for everyone and the showers are spacious.
We were four people who had a lovely stay in Quay West. The unit is well located and close to interesting places such as Hopefield, the Fossil Park and not too far from Paternoster. It has all the facilities one needs. Can definitely recommend and will stay there again. Thank you very much for a wonderful two days!
This was truly more than we expected, beautiful decor, very well equipped unit with quality linen, gas fireplace and electric blankets and everything was spotless. The unit has a lock-up garage with sliding door and a state of the art alarm system. Of course, the dishwasher and washing machine also added to our comfort, as did the covered outdoor barbecue. Thank you Marion for the effort you put into Quay West.

Quay West is really the ideal place if you want to shut down from the city life. There is no much to do or to see but if you want peace and this is your place.
The house is centrally located so to speak on the banks of the Berg River, with most of the West Coast attractions such as St Helena Bay, Paternoster and Langebaan between 20 to 40 minutes' drive away. The house is well equipped and has WiFi and an alarm system for safety. Melanie is very friendly and helpful to make your stay pleasant. Would definitely recommend for a smaller family.
We as a family thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very peaceful and safe. It was very good for us as a family. Children were also at home and enjoying themselves. Will go again without a doubt.

Wonderful stay, in quiet part of Velddrif, neat accommodation and close to banks of Breede River, only negative was the cleanliness of the jetty and surrounding area, a lot of litter and broken glass.

Rustig en baie netjies. Het lekker ontspan. Ek sal net sê dat daar dalk moet gekyk word na die alarmstelsel - om die sleutel heeltyd op en af te dra, kan nogals spanning veroorsaak en spanning is die laaste ding wat 'n mens wil hê op 'n ontspanningsnaweek.

Really great place to be, not much to do for children but you can drive to Laaiplek (5 minutes away) or Langebaan (30 minutes away). Would recommend it to small family or small group of friends, the seafood was also very nice.
Have a nice time with family and friends! I had to be in Vredenburg earlier in the morning of the first day, they were very accommodating and allowed us to book in earlier, and we could also stay a little later on the last morning. It made our weekend so much more fun! Thank you very much!
It was nice and everything was neat and clean. ALL I can recommend is that maybe a tarp is put in at the braai place to block the worst wind when you are braaiing. (Just on the side of the door will be enough). Furthermore, we quite missed a drying rack - there is a dishwasher, but we had few dishes and washed them. However, there was no shelf for the dishes. It's also a shame that I misunderstood the TV service. We are big rugby fans and there was nowhere to watch it (Only pubs that were not child friendly).
Nice accommodation and Melanie very sweet and helpful. Kitchen very well equipped. Patio/braai area isn't really private as it has a view of neighbours - perhaps planting a tree or tall shrub will give a little privacy? Or adding in a net curtain to the lounge?

It was wonderful to get out of the car and enter a cheerful, modern, well-appointed home. After a refreshing night's rest, we explored the area and felt right at home among all the friendly people - especially Melanie who looks after Quay West was kindness itself when she had to receive us around midnight. Unconditionally a home away from home! Delicious!

The only negative thing was that we couldn't use the TV because neither the TV nor the home theater system could read my hard drive with our shows. Just had to sit on the laptop and watch. Otherwise, everything was amazing!
