The only downfall for us was the gravel road that was not very well maintained and a normal car will get damaged on this road.
The unit was tidy and the scenery breathtaking. The service at the restaurant was great. The 'snacks' in the kitchen were delicious.

I did not know that we had to pay for activities but it went well, Gravel is a indeed a nightmare as we had 2 puncture tyres. But overall all was well and beautiful resort. hidden gem.

Very dissapointed with the unit we stayed in. Resort as a whole is very nice, but unit booked for us was looking on to a construction site where building was taking place from early every morning that we were there. Very noisy and hardly the peaceful breakaway we were looking forward to.
I booked a unit on the website and then I decided to stay another night. The manager at first refused to let us stay in the same unit, saying that we have to move as the owner was coming to use the unit. We could not unpack our stuff because we knew we had to move, only to be told at 3pm the next day that we could stay in the same unit. This wasn’t nice as we lived out of our bags and baskets.
It was truly wonderful, so much to do and such a beautiful view.

It was okay, but the road is bad unless you are travelling with a 4x4.

Feel like you are at the sea. Dirt road a bit poor and might put some people off.
The access road to the resort is very poor and takes more than an hour to travel 20 km. For this reason we will not be back unless it gets fixed. We also found that the shower was not properly cleaned and this is rather unacceptable.
First visit to Qwantani, but certainly not the last. The fact that dogs are allowed is an added plus.
We felt so spoiled and the view breathtaking. Despite the fact that it was a dirt road, the road was very good.

A spectacular view of the dam enjoyed by young and old. Many activities so you are never bored. Just the road getting there is very bad, if you don't drive a 4x4 then don't attempt it. Lovely stay.
It's really difficult to get a booking and now I know why. Qwantani is really great! We booked the 3 bedroom chalet which was warm and comfortable in cold weather. The fireplace in the lounge helps. All the rooms look out over the view of the Sterkfontein Dam - absolutely beautiful. The rooms are all twin rooms, which can be converted to king beds (beds pushed together). The entertainment for the kids is well planned and in advance so you can plan which activities you want to go for upfront. The rooms are serviced daily. My only suggestion would be an indoor heated pool, so that we can still swim on holiday despite the cold weather that Harrismith is famous for. Other than that, electric blankets would be nice in the rooms.
We were pleasantly surprised by the hospitality and fun activities that were offered. The scenery is beautiful and the horse ride up to the top of the mountains was breathtaking. Small details such as the barbecue and scones make you feel very welcome.

Excellent resort. The access route is very bad. If you don't own a bakkie or a vehicle it will take hours to get there.
The firewood is too expensive for fireplace. The anthracite helped. For the rest... very good and a joyful stay.
We had such a great time. Great view. The little house was perfect. Coulnd't have asked for better. Would love to have stayed longer. Will book again any day.
Qwantani is a lovely place, very neat and the staff are excellent. We had delicious meals at the restaurant and enjoyed the spa.

Qwantani is a lovely place to stay. Enough space for a family of 4 in the unit. Fully equipped with beautiful views. It's an hour's drive from the nearest shops, so you should come prepared for all the meals and drinks, medicines, etc. There is a shop on site, but only with limited items. Restaurant was also closed on 2 nights, which we didn't know about either. Furthermore, it was a very nice weekend and we enjoyed it a lot. Children slept well and played wonderfully and enjoyed the fresh air.
