28 guests' feedbackVery clean and tidy. The hospitality was excellent. The bread, garlic rolls and beet salad were of the highest quality. Will definitely visit there again.
Was delicious! Real Karoo!
One of the best little places I've ever stayed at for our halfway trip between Cape Town and Johannesburg.
Lovely place to stay the night. Hospitality radiates in the neat accommodation. The exceptional natural beauty is something from the top shelf. Children enjoyed feeding the animals and playing around. The stars are like a blanket over you at night. The freshly baked farm bread was a real treat. I would recommend for sure. It offers a little something different and completely affordable.
The stay was amazing. Linmarie is very friendly and the service was awesome. Freshly baked bread at affordable prices. Everything was just perfect.
Very nice. Better than in the photos. The food is amazing and the people very friendly. We found and played the most fun games there. Time flew. Take cheese and buy the farm bread.
Was a very nice stop for us. Everything was in place and it was something new for the children. Linmarie was very helpful and even arranged meat and wood for us for a nice barbecue. Linmarie invited the children to help feed the animals and the children enjoyed it so much. It was a very nice time for us and will go back again.
It was a quiet and peaceful stay. I will always use this for a halfway stop between Cape Town and Johannesburg.
We hired one of the caravans to take a break on the road between the Cape and Gauteng. We had a real camping experience with rainy, cold weather, but at least there were enough warm blankets and we slept warm and dry. The caravan and bathrooms are neatly and stylishly furnished. Linmarie did her best to accommodate us and even set up a camp cot for our baby. We did one of the hiking trails on the farm before the rain and our little girl really enjoyed the swing. Linmarie also invited our little girl to watch the farm animals being fed, but unfortunately it rained. One suggestion we might make is to put a microwave somewhere in the caravan. It would help a lot with cooking. Furthermore, the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed.
Quiet place. Beautiful bathrooms. Had a nice stay.
The stay in a caravan was pleasantly comfortable and clean. The children were very excited to spend a night in a caravan. We enjoyed the homemade garlic rolls with our lamb chops at dinner, and warm bread in the morning - very tasty! Would have been even better if it came with some plunger coffee!
The caravan stay feels more like a boutique hotel than a usual campsite caravan setup - really upping the "glamp" experience with soft towels, modern linen and good stock of cutlery and plateware. Really happy to have plastic cups, plates and bowls for the kiddies as well! We only stayed over as a midstop from Cape Town to Johannesburg but wished we had more time to spend there as it has great open space for the kiddies to play with great views of the Karoo landscape and the expanse of the stars at night is just breathtaking. The caravan is privately positioned away from the tent campsites which is very nice! The shower's water pressure is perfect, you have a great view out the window whilst showering, and the gas geyser works as expected. The water pressure at the actual caravan (see kitchenette in pics) is low as it seems the water pump doesn't turn on when opening the tap - I'm sure this will be sorted by the owners - but it's perfect for getting the hands clean whilst braaing and cleaning a single item if needed. There is a washing station by the ablutions with proper pressure for the bulk of your dishes. The fridge inside the caravan is not working and the owners are aware and will likely be fixed soon. They did accommodate us with a camping fridge which does the same thing so they really will go out of their way to make sure all your needs are met.
As a half way stop it was a good choice, we arrived late and left early again, everything was neat and clean.
Very nice and peaceful, got a great night's rest, everything one needs. Will stay at Raapfontein again anytime.
Very neat, clean and enough warm things on the beds for the winter.
The house is in a peaceful and quiet environment for a good night's rest. The main house's generator cannot be heard from the guest house during load shedding.
We really enjoyed Raapfontein and had a nice barbecue in the Karoo and looked at the stars.
The house is private and secluded, well equipped, clean and odorless. There is a very large covered braai and meeting area which is not shown in the photos. 8km of the 10km dirt road between the R389 and the N1 was in good condition (Aug 2021). Quiet was what we were looking for and that's exactly what we got.
Good overnight place for a family.
Everything was available that we needed for the overnight stay.
Will recommend to friends and family.
Had a great time and slept. The braai suits we booked in advance which are more than adequate. Accommodation is suitable for small groups to large groups. Delicious.
Beautiful place! Would definitely recommend Raapfontein!
We felt very peaceful and safe in the Karoo with its silence and the calm that only the open spaces can bring. The bald goats and horses that came to greet us a few steps in front of the back door were something extra. Place was comfortable, clean and very reasonably priced.
There is really everything we needed. Enough warm blankets and a heater. It was bitterly cold and the heater helped wonderfully. Linen clean and the place was tidy. Ideal to spend the night if the road is too long.
No water in loft due to lack of water pressure. No mirror in bathroom for shaving.
