What a gem! June and her flat outdid all the rave reviews we read. We loved that it was bright and spacious, with easy access to the beach and the Schaapeiland coastal path. The green belt of natural fynbos at the back and all the visiting birds were also a treat. We had everything we needed, and more. I highly recommend that you book for longer than originally planned!

Days after we confirmed our booking, June made contact, welcoming us, giving info of Yzerfontein and even sent us their loadshedding schedule, which was not needed as they have a generator! Absolutely everything was in the Raaswater cottage we stayed in, from bathrobes to yummy bread and a welcome letter. We went in 1st week of June, and was freezing cold, but the warm welcome, gas heater, wall heater panels and electric blankets were so welcoming. June even welcomed our dog Lilly, by her name. Hearing, smelling and seeing the sea from our cottage was beyond words. Raaswater is highly recommended for sure. We will definitely be back for more stays, no expenses have been spared to make a stay a memorable one for sure.

The place to stay offers much more than we could have imagined. It's spacious and cozy and spotlessly clean. So nice to feel the sea air at night and be able to hear the roar of the sea.

Rushing water was a curse to my soul. June is the perfect hostess and went out of her way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. There were no power outages during our stay, thanks to their 'inverter' and it makes a huge difference to your comfort and also the feeling of safety. Would recommend Raaswater with the utmost confidence. Tops!

Raaswater is incredibly well-equipped for self catering accommodation. A total TV package, wonderful decor, private outdoor space with braai and many other personal touches made us wish that we were staying for longer than 4 days. The owner did everything to ensure we were comfortable.

What a surprise when we unlocked the door. Much more than we expected! Now discovered a "pocketable" place to stay. Neat and spacious, everything you need for a getaway. Hostess warm, friendly and generous. Also received a visit from 2 ostriches patrolling the road. Ha ha ha.

The spacious, fully equipped apartment is very private, but the hostess is quickly on hand for inquiries and help. It's conveniently close to the sea to be able to walk along the walkway to the harbour. The sunny back porch, protected from the wind, is ideal for relaxing with a glass of wine and a thick book. The bookshelf full of books calls loudly for us to stay longer next time! Seed pods in the trees attract feelers that you can lie down and watch from your bed. Thank you, June and David!

Raaswater was one of the best places we have ever stayed. From our arrival to our departure it was wonderfully quiet and relaxing and June was the perfect hostess. There was even a milk tart in the kitchen to welcome us. Thank you very much for a neat and clean place to stay with everything you need, even Netflix when it started to rain! Will definitely go again!
We really enjoyed it at Raaswater. It's private and just a nice living experience. Walking distance to the sea. If there is what you need and a very friendly hostess. We didn't arrive until after 8 and were warmly received. The nice fresh bread and pastries and fresh roses were just tops!
Wow wow wow.. This has to be one of the best self catering units we have stayed at. The location is excellent with the sea as a view. Just a few steps then you are at the clean open beach, fantastic. The sea's rumbling in the evenings has a gentle effect on you and you enjoy a blissful night's rest. The braai is two steps from the kitchen and everything is there, right down to a grill. The hostess, June, is one fantastic person. Thank you for the bread and Portuguese cookies on arrival. She is what we are talking about, a human being. Always available for anything and it's like she's been your best friend for years and years. The place is very neat and clean. It really feels like you are at home, even your car is sleeping behind a locked door. June, you will see us again and that's a promise. Thank you for generator when Eskom decided to put us off lightly. We wish you only the best for the future and hope your business grows from strength to strength.

It was cool with the sea air, but with Aunt June's genuine welcome and kindness throughout the whole weekend it was just warm. Everything and more is in Raaswater. I understand where the name Raaswater comes from, with the most amazing sounds of the waves. It was so good I didn't even want to go home. Thank you so much Aunt June, it was our best getaway ever.

We enjoyed our stay at Raaswater tremendously, apartment is fully equipped with everything you can possibly need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Location is excellent, five minute walk to the beach. We were welcomed by our friendly host June, on arrival and she checked-up regularly over the weekend to ensure we are okay. Beautiful partial sea view from the living area and falling asleep listing to the sea, was just what we needed. We are looking forward to a next visit to Raaswater.

Well we got off to a rough start. After we got to June and fixed everything, it was really indescribably nice and peaceful. June made it absolutely worth it. She put fresh roses in every room, it felt like we checked into a 5 star lodge. Breathtaking sounds of nature and water. It definitely won't be the last time we go. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Raaswater and Yzerfontein are just the place for you. The apartment is very well furnished with extras such as an extension cord, hairdryer and iron. The hostess is happy to share more information about Yzerfontein and I was very hospitably received with something from the Rosemead bakery. (PS: Make sure you visit there too, you won't regret it). Thank you very much for the wonderful time!

There is not much to say about Raaswater except that the hospitality and care speak volumes. My lover and I enjoyed it so much to just take a breath. We were surprised that June had already lit the fire for us when we landed there. If there were more stars than just 5 we would give Raaswater 10 out of 5 for every aspect. Will definitely stay there again and recommend it to any couple looking for a well earned break.
