My first impressions after arriving were breathtaking. The cottage is perfectly clean with everything needed for self-catering. The lawn reflects the feeling of cool surroundings.

Had a lovely stay at Rainbow Glen. I felt very safe as a woman travelling alone, and Dave was very kind and welcoming. It was a bit noisy with a family in the cottage next to me, but the peaceful garden and mountain views made up for it! Will definitely be back.
The place is very nice clean and tidy, really in a beautiful place. I just feel you can foresee if power goes out that another plan will be made and internet will work.
The mobile reception is beyond pathetic when you are not on wifi. There is no trash in the room. The outside bin had previous guests' rubbish in it. There had been cigarette butts in the braai. A teaspoon that had not been used by me was in the sink. No TV or radio, which is quite frustrating if you are there alone. With loadshedding there are no candles or anything for light. The lights must be charged to work, which is not possible when one is asleep.
This place is tired and needs an upgrade, starting with a coat of paint. The interior decorating leaves much to be desired. There is not even a carpet, rug, or mat. Additionally, there are only two old bent coat hangers and no soap or hand wash in the shower. On a scale of 1 to 5, I would rate this place a 2. Dave was a nice guy, but he clearly needs help to bring this place up to scratch. It has massive potential.

My partner and I was supposed to get a two sleeper cottage. instead we were placed in a lovely 4 sleeper that had all the needed amenities to accommodate our stay. The view, was absolutely amazingly. Friendly owner. I would definitely recommend.

Well equipped except for the lack of bath soap which made it very difficult when we eventually wanted to wash down at the end of the evening. Perhaps advertise this on the website. The bathroom was also very 'tired' and old and needed sprucing up in our opinion.

This is a special guest house. Excellent service by the friendly owner. If you want to barbecue, you get wood, flash and matches. Beautiful surroundings.
My kids loved it here, they swam until late in the evening. We could see them from our cottage so it was safe and I could relax while they had fun.
Accommodation was clean and tidy on arrival. Accommodation had everything we could possibly need. Bedding was comfortable, towels were clean. Children enjoyed themselves in the clean and tidy swimming pool as well as the playground.
It's so nice to view and safe to stay. You don't need to go out for exploring everything is there.
The carpets must be cleaned and the cobwebs can be removed at least before guests arrive. Fantastic location and will definitely go and relax there again.
First of all, the owner himself told me he doesn't even think his place is a 1 star so we should know it's very basic. The pictures were quite misleading. The unit stank. It's an old outside room that they made into a cottage. The bed was as hard as rock. When we wanted to use the microwave we discovered old food from a month old (with a Spar date on it) inside. In other words the place is not cleaned. The utensils were minimal. No decent glasses. Pool is beautiful and the location is fantastic. The place definitely needs a good makeover. I wouldn't even recommend it for backpackers. Maybe then the owner can justify his asking price. We only stayed 1 night and left the following day. He also advertises that it is animal friendly, but calls me ahead of time to make it clear that there will be many children. I feel then don't advertise the place as child friendly if you think it will be a problem for your guests.
I would strongly suggest looking at the cleanliness of the cottage, as well as the utensils available for a self-catering cottage. Our shower water was for the most part cold for the 2 days.

Upon our arrival we were received by the owner, what a nice guy. The tranquility of the place was just what we needed to get away from the rush of the city.
We travelled with both a young child and a teen, despite the fact that there were no TVs. All of us had a great stay.

Lovely place, neat and beautiful. At the foot of the cliff, very close to the nature reserve. Nice pool and lovely garden for dogs.
We had a nice time. The general look is clean and uncluttered. More attention is needed to maintenance in the kitchen and cleaning of wall plugs and switches, among others.

So safe for young kids! Tupenny was small, but the stoep worked well to extend our living space. The beds were comfortable, and the shower was great - which I loved. And WiFi was an added bonus! The kids enjoyed feeding the rabbits, the kids section of the pool, and just being able to run around in an open but safe space. They were very sad to leave. We will definitely be back.
David and Tara is very accommodating and because they live on the property they are always there to assist.

Great location close to town.
We were spoiled by Rainbow Glen. The kids could play and swim and enjoyed the farm life around them. We didn't need anything and rested well. Thank you, we will definitely see you again.
The owners are very friendly and helpful. This is is a child-friendly venue and with a huge play area.
Don't think it was good value for money - cottages really only suitable for backpackers - no hanging space for clothes or storage space for bags if you stay longer than 1 day. Porch outside also very small and was not very clean. The surroundings, gardens and swimming pool are well looked after and it's a beautiful town, but for the same money you might be able to get bigger accommodation. Owner very hospitable and directions from him were 100%.
The reason why people book a house is to have same kind of comfort you receive at home. Beds are far too uncomfortable and hard mattresses, definitely need to be changed. Beds were so hard we were horrified especially the fact my mom and sisters are over 60 years. Even my son who is 16 woke up each morning with a painful body.
Holiday resort reception's service is unacceptable. Unfriendly.
We stayed at Rainbow Glen Guest Cottages from the dates of the 9 of August, checked out the 12th of August. It is beautiful accommodation, we had the cottage named Prospect Cottage. Very comfortable. We will be back.

Bed sleeps great. Nice to sit on the stoep and experience the beautiful scenery. Within safe walking distance of town and restaurants.
Unfortunately the Muskadel unit wasn't up to standard as on the pictures. The lounge couch wasn't clean and the lace curtains in the kitchen were torn. It wasn't indicated that the unit is attached to the main house, and there are wooden floors which some guests might find disturbing. We also had the unfortunate experience of not having enough towels in the unit and were only able to get the towels the next day. The towels were also not up to standard, some stained and frayed. The linen, however, was clean and neat. Accommodation was sufficient for our breakaway as we spent very little time at the unit, but I wouldn't recommend it.
Lovely accommodation in beautiful scenery. We grilled some meat and really enjoyed the large green lawn and view of the mountain. Cottage itself was perfect. Will definitely visit here again. Many thanks to David who is very helpful.

The place was run down - nothing like the pics on the website - it may have looked like that 20 years ago but looks nothing like it today. We cancelled our stay and left - extremely disappointed and angry as we had driven from Plettenberg Bay to stay there. The owner refused to refund us.
We were pleasantly surprised with the friendliness and location of the place. One of the best places we have ever booked through LekkeSlaap!
We were so relaxed because the children could play safely. The lovely, shady trees made you forget about the heat, while a clean swimming pool also beckons! I will definitely book again. Bravo to Rainbow Glen!

The garden unit is not recommended by me. It's overpriced for what you get. It's probably because it's in Montagu that any place can charge about R1000 a night. It is run down and although it looks clean on the surface, it is not. There are also many flies. There was something spilled on the couch, I don't know what it was, but it was creepy. You also have to walk far to your car with all your luggage.
We really enjoyed our stay and the kids in particular had a good time - they made friends are want to return in September!
