Rainbow Lodge

Accommodation is offered in a 11-sleeper cottage, and a variety of cosy, self-catering, Swiss-style log cabins which are serviced daily. Each unit has a kitchen which is fully equipped with a stove and oven, a fridge, microwave, coffee- and tea-making facilities, crockery and cutlery, as well as a patio or balcony with braai facilities.
The units are situated right next to big fishing dams in such a way as to maximize privacy. There are also very nice trails around the dams and in the forest to enjoy the local wildlife and nature at it's best. The view over the dams and down the valley is also well worth seeing.
The Lodge is also popular with mountain bikers and offers various short scenic trails on the farm and the dirt road network outside the farm provides for longer and more challenging rides.
Rainbow Lodge is also a pet-friendly establishment.

43 guests' feedbackExcellent client service! Things like firewood, firelighters, matches and ice were provided, which others don't supply. I was highly impressed. The road up to there doesn't look inviting, but once you arrive and see the beauty, you completely forget about the road. An amazing place and I would definitely recommend.
Rainbow Lodge is the perfect getaway! Well equipped cottage, friendly host! Was delicious!
Very quiet cute place, good service.
Beautiful scenery, always nice to stay there. Friendly reception by Sledge and he is always helpful and goes the extra mile if you need anything.
Beautiful place with a very nice view. Nice fishing and long walks.
The site is excellent for children. Everyone is very helpful.
Relaxing and peaceful.
Very quiet and peaceful.
Nice fishing. Beautiful scenery. Just too few kitchenware to prepare meals.
I've been there a few times and it's always nice.
I would recommend Rainbow Lodge. It is very beautiful, safe and peaceful. You can have a nice rest in nature, go hiking, fishing.
This is the most beautiful and peaceful place. You truly find rest for your soul in the beautiful nature. I will do it again. Thank you guys, it was so nice.
Netjes en skoon. Baie mooi uitsig. Vriendelike diens. Maklik in- en uitgeboek. Sal definitief weer oorbly en dit aanbeveel. Baie goeie plek vir kinders.
We had a great stay in Cottage no 5. There is everything you need. We were there during the week, and the people work on the farm so there was noise with tractors and lawnmowers etc. which interrupted the tranquility a bit, maybe over a weekend it will be quieter. There is a bass pond, but unfortunately not maintained for easy fishing from the side. Too many reeds all around near the side. If you hook a bass you're going to get stuck. They can do some housekeeping around the dam to make it easier to catch from the side. There is also a trout pond that is full of fish. The lawns are very beautiful and there is everywhere a place to have a picnic. You can also go walking and cycling. We will definitely go again.
Wonderful staff and beautiful grounds.
I would only suggest that the kitchen should be more equipped. Sharp knives, there was only 1 big sharp knife. Medium and Large pans. There was only one small pan.
Will definitely go again. Sledge made us feel so welcome.
Quiet and peaceful and scenic, friendliness, helpful, beautiful.
Great romantic getaway, idyllic location with beautiful scenery. Nice for Bass fishing. Haven't tried Trout yet.
Green pastures and still waters. Good place for a retreat.
Although the caretaker was very friendly and very willing to help, the unit we were allocated was not the one we had booked, and not at all what we expected. Perhaps our original unit was more faithful relative to the photos on the website, but unit 7 needs attention, especially the bedding. If you didn't expect 4 stars, the overnight stay might have gone better. We probably expected too much. The location is indeed beautiful and there is so much potential.
The ideal getaway place to recharge batteries
Great break - spectacular place to stay - hope to return next year.
Fantastiese wegbreekplek waar jy die batterye kan herlaai! Die aaklige pad om daar te kom was net die enigste ondergang, maar dit het net 3 km geduur.
We enjoyed every moment there! It's quiet and peaceful and the gardens and view are beautiful! The friendly service is unbeatable! We will definitely book there again!
Shaun and Ulli were exceptional hosts. We felt welcome and at home from the start. A wonderful weekend where we could just relax. Number 5 is a lovely chalet and close to the dam. The firewood for the fireplace was a nice surprise. Thank you very much for being able to recharge our batteries in such a peaceful place.
Wonderful place to stay. We felt very at home. The staff were wonderful and will definitely be back.
Unfortunately, the dams (for fly fishing) were severely low. I suspect the dams are not properly lined, hence, them draining down rapidly. So this could be addressed now that the levels are low. The low level in the bottom dam is also a good chance to remove all Bass, and restock with Trout.
We felt the bedding and towels were not very fresh. There weren't exactly nice hiking trails to do. With rain in the area one might expect more life in the ponds and nature, but it was still green and flower gardens make it beautiful. Host is pleasant and makes you feel welcome. Dullstroom is just around the corner.
Unit no. 7 was neat and clean. Had nice view from unit 7. Received friendly and good service from Shaun.
Will definitely go again. The people at Rainbow Lodge is friendly and pleasant. The property is beautiful and clean and neat. The fact that we were able to take the animals with us were a bonus.
Nice accommodation. Ideal stop over or weekend for relaxing away from home.
This was the first place to ever contact me to find out if my travels were going well. The interest of the management and the staff is something I really appreciated. The accommodation is clean, neat and is maintained on a daily basis.
The gardens and the flowers are breathtaking! The service is excellent.
Good stay. Number 3 a bit cramped with chunky furniture. Lovely atmosphere outside.
Not at all impressed! We were highly upset. The image on the web is not at all what met us when we arrived there. On arrival we were greeted by a construction company. The dam that should have greeted us, is completely dry and they are busy digging. The bap-bap-bap of the construction vehicles and the front loader literally drove us crazy up until 5 o' clock. Three and a half hours' noise literally on our doorstep. We could not fish at all because the one bunch of dams did not exist and the other was too full of water grass and the water level was too low.
Just very very nice. The kindness and fire in the fireplace warmed up the cold Friday evening! The gardens, woods, lawns outside, as well as the cleanliness and cleanliness inside the cottage were very special. Thank you very much!
It is a very beautiful place! Great for a getaway weekend!
Would definitely recommend Rainbow Lodge. The silence and nature are wonderful. Close enough to Dullstroom to walk around there.
The service from start to finish was excellent and impressed. Rainbow Lodge is a place where you can find your soul again and experience something of Creation. Thank you very much!
Very nice place. Uli was friendly and Winston and Lady came to greet me every morning and afternoon. My only complaint is that the ponds were not full at all. That's why I was there, so with the result I only caught one small bass. Lots of wood for the fireplace. Very nice, will go back when I know the ponds are full.
