All the comforts of home in Raka. We had a blast as the quietness was appreciated when it came to the evenings. Lovely as it was away from the busy main road, so very peaceful. Close to all the sightseeing, etc. Good food at the hotel. Friendly staff and people handling our booking, etc.
We thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Handling WhatsApp messages was incredibly fast - every time. We like to compliment the person who did the interior decoration - beautiful! The house is very well equipped - everything of good quality and immaculately clean.

Raka accommodation is not only centrally located, but also an accommodation that surprised us with every possible need provided. The cleanliness and included appliances made Raka feel right at home, and the fireplace was more than welcoming in the night chill.
Perfect place for a getaway. The photos don't do it justice. Comfortable beds and premium bedding. We brought our two dogs by prior arrangement, and they had plenty of space to run around in the huge, fenced-in backyard. We will definitely book Raka again.

Nice but it was very cold. A carpet in the living area will help a lot.
We were 2 couples that stayed for 2 nights and it had everything we needed. Anneline helped us with everything we needed to know and we had no issues whatsoever. Nice and central in the heart of the town. I will definitely recommend it to all my friends and family. Thank you!
We used the bedroom adjacent to the braai room. The bedroom door was always in the way. Can I suggest to replace the door with a sliding door? No other complaints.
Raka is nice and central and we had a nice visit/stay.
Just take note of how to use the backup battery for lighting.
Raka provides for load shedding, but after a nice cold stargazing experience and failed fireplace, we had to face an unpleasant lukewarm shower at 21:30. On arrival as well as the next morning, the water was warm. To our knowledge, the right buttons were on, as Anneline explained. When I looked at accommodation, the condition was that the place must have a fireplace. Raka mentions in the ad that wood is provided and extra can be bought in town. The wood was unusably large for the fireplace and braai. Only 1 piece of fire lighter was available. There is a blunt ax and it is not our expectation to have to chop wood. We clocked in at +- 17:00 on a Sunday afternoon and then had to go looking for usable sized wood. We were not successful. LW. I did bring this to Janine's attention after our visit and she undertook to make usable wood available in the future. Unfortunately, Raka put a damper on our Sutherland experience.
