33 guests' feedbackRangers Reserve has an incredibly beautiful location. We also had a nice 4x4 to the most beautiful place for sundowners.
We had an incredibly nice stay! Ideal place to totally break away for a weekend. Dead quiet scenery. Very beautiful and incredibly well equipped stone house on the hill. Have fun in the Karoo veld, under the stars barbecuing.
We really enjoyed our stay. Owners welcomed us and we felt at home. The view from the cottage and from the top of the mountain is amazing. The property is huge and our 2 dogs could run free and happily. We did some amazing birdwatching, enjoyed nature and the Karoo peaceful feeling.
The place is incredibly beautiful. There was everything you needed and more. Unfortunately, we were part of the storms that crippled the Western Cape this weekend. But Hilarie and her family were amazing and helped us get back on the tarmac safely. We will definitely visit the Rangers Reserve again. More than 5 stars. Thank you Hilarie and your family for going out of your way for us and other guests to make sure everyone is safe and sound. We will come again xxx.
We had a very nice stay and were able to go for a walk to clear our heads. There are also routes that can be driven, definitely higher vehicles. All necessities are there and beyond that you can just relax.
We only stayed one night and it was lovely. Peace and quiet not far from Cape Town. Friendly host.
We had a wonderful stay. Well appointed, most beautiful sunset. You won't get closer to nature.
Very calm. Can walk around the farm.
No photos can truly capture the stunning beauty of the surroundings or the most exquisitely romantic accommodation. This is something you have to experience for yourself to appreciate. The friendliest hosts imaginable! We will definitely visit again.
The gas geyser is not enough for hot water if the sun is not shining, which in our case was all weekend. The batteries only last so long. I would definitely recommend a covered outdoor barbecue or an indoor barbecue for when it rains. The small fridge is a bit small for a family of 4 for a whole weekend. We had a wonderful stay, these are only recommendations.
Cottage was bigger than expected with all the necessary amenities. Very tranquil location. Enjoyed our stay.
Love the house's decor.
Was very nice and peaceful.
It was a nice getaway close to our house surrounded by the silence of nature. Nice and cozy with the little dover-stuff that served in the evenings. Lovely, big shower with nice hot water. The whole place was clean and tidy, even some books to read. Electricity. No cell phone reception, so come and switch off.
One of those places I don't want to tell people about because I want to keep it a secret. More than I expected. Definitely going back.
We went home in the Jasmin Hideout. The unit was clean, tidy and nicely equipped. The quiet was what we were looking for, the host was pleasant and made our visit as pleasant as possible.
What an absolute joy to have stayed at Rangers Reserve (Jasmine Cottage). It was so relaxing and so peaceful. No cell signal and WiFi, which is just what we needed to get away from the city life. We were left to our own devices and told that we wouldn't be bothered which was fantastic. Definitely a 5 star the whole way.
The accommodation is basic and more suitable for the younger generation. It would also be a good point to point out the difficult dirt road to get there and that not just any vehicle is suitable. The cottage could do with a good cleaning.
The road to the destination cannot be reached without a very high vehicle. The road to Jasmine is really a bit rough. There is also no WiFi or cell reception at Jasmine and the barbecue area is just stones packed on the ground with no grill. The place inside is neat with everything needed. If you like to rough it up a bit, this is the place for you. If you are full of tiger lantins, stay somewhere else. For us it was just fine and I quite like it a bit rough, my wife not so much.
The road there was a bit rough. But the cottage and surroundings made up for it. All that was needed was there. Just make your purchases before you go there. Touwsrivier does not have large shops.
We stayed in the Honey Badget cottage, which was perfectly appointed and stocked - such a comfortable time. One of the things I like most was the privacy. In the two days spent there, we never saw or heard another human, just the gorgeous views by day and at night. I'll definitely be back. Hilarie and Marcus were so kind to meet us at the gate, escort us to our accommodations, and get us settled in - we felt really at home. Thanks to you both!
Absolutely stunning views, great star-gazing. And peace and quiet, no cell phone reception.
Had a wonderful stay. Fully equipped with enough space. Beautiful farm setting. Friendly owners. No cell phone signal.
The house is very tidy with everything you need. The cottage is located at the top of the mountain and is surrounded by proteas.
Lovely cottage, so quiet and peaceful. Really enjoyed the fireplace. Great for stargazing.
Beautiful, peaceful location. Comfy house with all amenities. Hillarie was extremely helpful and kind. Will definitely return!
I can recommend Rangers Reserve to anyone who wants to rest in nature. Owners friendly and fall over their feet to make you feel welcome. This is exactly what we wanted to experience.
We stayed at Rangers Reserve for one night only, but had we known how absolutely amazing this place was, we would have booked for a week. Very isolated, the farm is the perfect getaway for nature lovers. The cottage is a little gem, furnished with style and equipped with everything you might need for a short or a long stay. The back garden provides plenty of space for braaiing and at night for just sitting outside and enjoying the most magnificent night sky. The milky way was at full display the whole night (stayed up until early morning hours just to enjoy the unbelievable view), millions of stars covering the entire sky, lots of shooting stars. To put it simply it was an unforgettable night (if you are a stargazer, it's an absolute must!). Special thanks to Hillary, who provide us with fresh farm eggs and wood, and made our stay very comfortable. If we ever get a chance to go back, we'd definitely visit again, but for longer.
Luckily we had a 4X4, and could climb the mountain to our heart's content, to explore the breathtaking surroundings and mountains. It's beautiful. The 2 person rondavel, is more spacious than we expected with all the necessary to use. No TV or WiFi. Ideal if you want to escape from it and just enjoy your chosen company in nature.
This little place offers peace and quiet - and the most beautiful views. No TV, no cell phone reception - just silence. Can drive everywhere with your bakkie - if you have a 4x4, and nice hiking trails. Cut and reload!
We had a comfortable long weekend with lots of activities to keep us busy. We did several long walks, enjoyed the beautiful views from all angles of the house, visited the animals and gardens. We had a wheelchair user and we could push him over the roads. The house was accessible to his reduced mobility and the paved outside areas meant we could play some games too. A happy weekend - thank you to our friendly hosts.
Very well equipped unit in terms of kitchenware and such. Neat, etc, but a few flaws that I will personally follow up with the owners. Can recommend for a few days but not 5 nights as we booked.
Away from the hectic life, spacious and well equipped. A place to recharge batteries and relax.
