We had a very nice stay. The place was clean and tidy. We were kindly welcomed by the hostess and her cute woof baby. She even went so far as to name us places where we could eat and even confirmed the times they were open etc. Very very cute place with a lot of potential.
Fabulous. The host was great, friendly and sociable. We went to three more places and Raston was the best by far. The pool is beautiful and we felt at home as well as free to come and go.

Pool was not heated as advertised, and the WiFi did not reach our unit at all. False advertising!
We feel we paid too much for what we got. 1. We booked a place that was supposed to have at least 2 rooms and not just 1 room, my children had to sleep in the living room with fold out couches. 2. The TV in the living room did not work. 3. The kettle was broken and we had to use a pot to get coffee water. 4. The hot tub didn't work at all. 5. The floors were unceasingly dirty, the children's feet looked as if they had walked through a shopping mall. 6. Other visitors visited and made music from early in the morning until late at night.
Reception was not hospitable at all. Within 5 minutes we got key and sat in a completely different room than booked. The lady left there and we didn't see anyone from Raston again in the whole 2 days we stayed there. There was no parking and we were told to sort out with the other guests. The noise was terrible. Children ran around the corridors until late. Didn't feel safe at all. We have always been happy with your bookings and looked forward to it but this was a big disappointment for us. She also told us they don't serve breakfast, we should support the local restaurants.
The lobby of the apartment's flower pot as well as one of the flower pots around the pool were full of cigarette butts. The person who helped us check in was grumpy and curt about the time we wanted to check in (15:30) although the advertisement indicates that check in is only possible from 14:00.
The guest house is still as good years later. We only got good service.
It's nice to be able to have an indoor and outdoor barbecue. Ina is hospitable and helpful, and the beds are comfortable.
We are sorry we didn't get the full stay, but will be back soon and book again.
We were warmly received and shown around by Ella. She even booked us a table at a restaurant. The room was nicely decorated and furnished.
I visited the place before and everything was excellent, hence the return. However the place was not up to standard this time, in terms of the cleanliness. Couches, microwave and some kitchen utensils were very dirty.
Ina the manager was very helpful during the visit. The self-catering unit 6 needs a lot of attention. No DSTV, tap in kitchen leaked so we had to be moved. The unit just needs attention. Room in house was very pleasant.
Place needs some maintenance. Pictures on the web and real accommodation are not 100% correct.
The place is terribly dirty. I had to wash the fridge first before I could dare to pack our food. Drawers, cabinets have old dirty oil marks. Used razor in the shower. Manager didn't know how many guests we were so we only got 2 towels for 5 people. We had to ask for broom and mop. Also had to buy bleach because dishcloths smelled horrible.
Everything locked on arrival, initially no power, geyser out of order, had to bathe in cold water for two nights.
I'm like the princess and the pea! I hate a bed that is lumpy and uncomfortable, and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the bed. So we slept and ate wonderfully! Thank you!

Lovely apartment. Well equipped. The bath (previously a Jacquzzi) is not welcoming. The remaining fixtures are off-putting as it casts doubts on good sanitation. Ella, as the host, is welcoming and extremely helpful.

The guesthouse is unprofessional. Breakfast can only be served at 08:00. I'm sure we paid for B&B but didn't take it as they don't serve it until 8am. Floors full of sand, dust on lampshades, beds not made. Coffee is not refilled in the rooms. Security for vehicles does not exist.
Very, very friendly and helpful staff who go out of their way to assist you. A pleasant surprise is the breakfast that is offered at a very reasonable price if you want it. Very pleasant location within walking distance of the town center - definitely value for money and would definitely recommend and use again!
My room was clean and comfortable and my hostess friendly and welcoming. Well situated close to shops and restaurants. I would have like to have had an easy chair in the room as the bed was a bit far from the TV and little kettle to brew some early morning tea in the room would have been great. But that's not a gripe. I really enjoyed my stay.

We were a group of 7 people, sleeping in three units. Units 2 & 3 were of very reasonable quality, but Unit 6 was not really value for money. Obviously this unit is not used much. It was not cleaned properly and the second bed was not made up. The bed was never made up and late night we had to create a sleeping place for a couple.
However, hot water in shower problem and floors not very clean.
Raston Guest House, it's basically a house with lots of bedrooms. It's ideal if you only want to spend one night but would not recommend staying more than one night.
Our stay was very pleasant and the breakfast delicious.
We had a lovely stay here again as we have been here before but this time we felt there was a bit of maintenance needed. For example: our towels had holes in them and were very old. The pool: you couldn't swim in it. It hadn't been cleaned in ages. Otherwise our breakfast was awesome. Thank you.

Noeline is a hostess and nothing is too much to ask! She and her assistant do everything with a smile. We felt very much at home and will definitely check in there again if we ever go to Lamberts Bay again.

The receptionist was friendly and helpful. Our breakfasts were delicious and the room met our expectations - nice and quiet next to the pool. Just a pity the security door is difficult to open. Unfortunately there is no gate to make the parking area more secure although we did not experience any problems in this regard.
On reception the customer service was very professional and the stay at Raston Guest House was amazing. Would recommend this accommodation anytime.

Upon arrival there was nobody on site, we had to call and after a while the lady arrived. Not a very good check-in, but friendly. The accommodation was fine, clean and tidy. The TV did not work properly, 1 channel only and poor signal quality. We were awoken at 12 am by the people sleeping next door to the room we had, not sure if it was staff or guests. They made so much noise and the music was so loud. They seemed to be having a party that started at around 12 am. I eventually got up as nobody could sleep and called the lady whom I presume was the manager there as she never introduced herself. She called the people and they then quieted down, but not totally. I am surprised that a guesthouse would allow such behaviour in their rooms. Very disappointing.
The place needs a little bit of maintenance. It's neat. We are so disappointed because we were not received or greeted by the manager/owner at all. And it needs a gate outside for security.
We booked and paid in full in advance. Upon arrival it was clear that spending any part of a holiday at Raston would not be a pleasant experience. The receptionist was poorly and unprofessionally dressed. The door through which we gained access is nothing but a back door. The place needs maintenance and is run down. The site and entrance are untidy. Stay away! Rather, we lost the money that had already been paid and went looking for (and easily found) pleasant accommodation.
The rooms were very clean and tidy. The beds had durable linen on them and were spotlessly clean. There were nice extras in the bathroom like sewing kit. The fresh milk in the fridge was also welcome. Noeleen was friendly and helpful.
I was very impressed by the accommodation at Raston Guest House. The staff was very friendly and it was very neat. Perfect location. I'll book Raston Guest House again if I have the opportunity.

We were received very kindly! Everything beautiful and clean and breakfast was delicious! Faulty shower head and wall plug were brought to the attention of the staff.
The special thought of leaving fresh milk for guests was cute.
The value for money was good, self-catering units are spacious and fully equipped. Our only suggestion is to install fans - this will make mosquitoes bother you a little less and also help when it's hot! The hostess was very helpful.

Raston Guest House is tops! Our stay at Raston Guest House was very pleasant, we stayed over for the weekend so that we could attend my sister's wedding on the 27th of February 2016. We had one of the self-catering units. The unit was spotless, equipped with every holidaymaker's needs - even cotton buds and Savlon! We had a super, cool, relaxing, FIRST time in Lambert's Bay. The manager, Nolene, was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend the Raston Guest House to anyone who visits Lambert's Bay!
We only stayed one night, but the service was excellent and the house absolutely beautiful.
We were very friendly received. The rooms were very neat and spacious. My wife and I and our dog were in Unit 6, which is a spacious self-catering unit, ideal for a longer vacation. Our friends in rooms 2 and 4 were also very satisfied with the location of their rooms, which open onto the swimming pool area. The parking area inside the yard was very convenient. The owners can consider installing a security gate.

Our stay was lovely and the setting was exactly what we were looking for. It's a bit far from the sea, but it's not really a problem. The unit was nice and big and well equipped.
When I read Raston Guesthouse's page I was very excited about everything they had to offer. Unfortunately, I was only slightly disappointed. Our bedroom light was blown, and the toilet wouldn't stop flushing unless you lifted the tub lid. The pool is also advertised as a hot water pool, which it is not. There is also an awful lot of keys that one is given, none of which are marked to distinguish. We were given a "rundown" of what key was used where, but it was impossible to remember everything. The service was good and the rooms nice and tidy, but it's these small details that I think might just need attention.
The place is clean and tidy, but we would like to have air conditioning in the room.
Although the house and decor were old, it was clean and tidy and the breakfast was delicious!
