Had a wonderful stay at Reis n Rus. I stayed one night on my way to Pietermaritzburg to take part in the Midmar Mile, and Harrismith was ideally located between Vanderbijlpark and Midmar. As a solo traveler Reis n Rus completely met my requirements. The house is well fenced and the guard dogs on their post. Can really recommend this guest house. Thank you Uncle Johan.

It is sufficient for the purpose of sleeping over for a night, if you are interested in antiques this is the place for you. Comfortable shower and bathroom.
No TV, no heater and no electric blanket, it was cold.
They went out of their way from the time we got there until we left. Especially for us, a braai with firewood and table is set up right in front of our room. Was informed in advance about load shedding and would start generator if we wanted it. Room was spotlessly clean and it was very tidy. Thank you very much Mel.
Manlief het daar oorgeslaap op pad terug Kleinmond toe. Hy het in "loadshedding" daar aangekom. Hy is met liefde en gasvryheid ontvang, Mel het vir hom warm water gereël, koffie en koekies en toe boonop vir hom 'n ligte aandete gemaak (in haar woorde "ons doen dit vir die liefde"!) Sy het selfs vir hom padkos ingesit. Mel, baie dankie vir jou omgee en jou vriendelikheid, dankie klink min maar ons waardeer dit.
Really very impressed with the service received. Highly recommend anyone who is passing through and needs accommodation.
Mel was extremely hospitable from the moment we arrived until the minute we left. She set out a dinner table, and made a fire and made sure we had enough parking for all the vehicles and caravans etc. A really good stay.

I was involved in a nasty accident on my way to Reis n Rus. Jan and Alta went out of their way to make sure I didn't miss anything. Dropped in often to see if I needed anything. Ons verblyf was wonderlik en gemaklik. Ek sal beslis weer daar oornag. Die kamers was goed versorg en skoon, en die beddens was gemaklik. Die huis is 'n entjie van die N3 af geleë, so daar was nie veel geraas om te hoor nie, en die plek was veilig om in te bly en het selfs plek gehad om ons voertuig veilig te parkeer. Die eienaars was baie vriendelik en het gesorg dat ons alles het wat ons benodig. Ons het probleme gehad met die stort in een van die kamers, wat gebruik maak van 'n gasgeiser, waar die water te warm word en dan skielik yskoud word, maar miskien het ons net nie die trick uitgevind om die warmte van die water te balanseer nie . Miskien is 'n normale geiser 'n beter idee indien moontlik.
Good host and room was clean and convenient.
All you need to spend the night. There is a panel heater, they might have to think about an oil heater. The large windows make the room cold at night. Very friendly and helpful people, will sleep there again.
I would just miss a TV, if staying for longer.
We enjoyed the stay, although it was very short. The room just needs a mirror for the ladies doing their hair. We will be back.
