Rest a While, is a great place to stay. The hostess is very friendly and the place is clean.
The hosts are the perfect hosts. They have a spacious, comfortable, fully equipped 2-bedroom cottage situated on their property with all the privacy one requires. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2-night stay there.
The facility was clean and fresh. The hosts were friendly and attentive to our needs. The area was tranquil and relaxing. Definitely a family environment.

Everything about the apartment and the host was excellent.
It was more than what we expected. Denise made it feel like we are coming home to family. The braai area is very nice and it met all our needs. The Bakhuis and cafe, nearby, was a bonus.

We had a wonderful time at Rest a While. The accommodation was like a small cottage with 2 bedrooms and a nice-sized kitchen, etc. Everything was clean and tidy, and such a bargain for the low price. The hosts were lovely, friendly people who made us feel so welcome. We will definitely be back and urge everyone to book a spot at Rest a While. You won't be disappointed.
We had a great time. The apartment was very nice, clean and tidy and the owners Gerhard and Denise were excellent. Their hospitality was top notch. We were at Rest a While during the 24/25 September 2023 floods when all the roads in and out of the Gansbaai area were closed. Gerhard and Denise opened their hearts and let us stay an extra night for free until the roads opened on the 26th, after which we could return home. We want to thank them from the bottom of our hearts. We can confidently recommend Rest a While. The apartment was fully equipped with everything needed and the host was in constant contact with us to make sure we had a good stay.

Rest a While is a beautiful self-catering unit that is very well equipped. The unit is clean and very tidy, walking distance from the beach and close to necessary shops as well as Groeneweide parkrun. The unit is even well equipped for load shedding with a gas stove, as well as an inverter for the TV and WiFi. The owners are very friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Would definitely stay at Rest a While again.
Rest a While is one of the best to stay and the place is surprisingly beautiful and big with enough space for everyone. As a single traveler it was fantastic to have so much space and the place is fully equipped with everything imaginable. The hosts are friendly and make sure that everything is in place and would like to help make the stay as pleasant as possible. Don't think too long about the right choice when looking for accommodation in the direction - this is a very good choice and the best!
Definitely not what I expected, place is much nicer than it looks on advertisement. We were welcomed by Miss Denise and the next day met Uncle Gerhard, both of them can be given 10 stars. Thank you for your nice conversations and humor. If you are looking for a place for a getaway then this is the perfect place! I will definitely go back again!
The apartment exceeded all expectations! Everything and more is provided and the people are friendly and feel like old friends. Will definitely visit there again and recommend to everyone looking for a place in that direction.
The apartment is well-equipped with attention to detail. The beds are very comfortable. There is an electric stove and a gas stove. Some lights, Wi-Fi and one electrical plug run on back-up power - so loadshedding (electrical outages to non-South Africans) is not a big issue. Denise and Gerhard are stunning hosts.
The owners are clearly keen to meet all the needs of the customers.
We went with the idea of just having a bed because we wanted to see a lot. But it was so peaceful and neat we didn't want to walk around. Denise is the best hostess, she made us feel so at home from the start. We are definitely going back.

Denise was so friendly and helpful, not even load shedding could stop her when we got there! The apartment was ready, with emergency lights in every room. It was very clean and tidy and nice and spacious for a family of 4. Just a shame we couldn't stay longer.

Very nice place to stay. Well located, and just far enough from the noise. Very nice environment. The braai facilities are perfect, if the weather is nice, and the neighbors behave. Unfortunately we couldn't sit outside and enjoy the tranquility. The neighbors in the adjacent yard made noise until late. The pool and game room right next to the boundary wall can be a problem.

This accommodation is fully equipped by people who understand the needs of overnight guests. Everything is there and of excellent quality. The unit is fantasy. It has everything you need and more. We were received very kindly and the place was silver clean and tidy. It is very peaceful and comfortable and only 300m from the beach. As the name says Rest a While, one can't help but switch off. The friendliness, well-kept apartment and peaceful surroundings are just what one needs. We were pleasantly surprised and would love to visit Gerhard and Denise again.

Understanding and welcoming.
Gerhard and Denise made us feel so welcome in their extremely well equipped unit. Denise kept us informed ahead of time of the type of weather we could expect. The unit itself is such a lovely place to stay that has everything you could possibly need and so much more, from electric blankets to hot water bags for the Cape cold. When we go to Gansbaai again, we will definitely want to stay with them again!

Besides the great accommodation and personal attention from an excellent hostess, we enjoyed the social/barbecue area. Informative conversations with Gerhard the host and author of the Eleventh Commandment, which I bought and was great reading. There were several points of contact in terms of loss and that we both come from Fochville. I would highly recommend Rest a While for the relaxed atmosphere and central location in terms of tourist attractions.

We were welcomed to the spotless and well equipped ground floor apartment by the lovely hostess and her husband. The fresh decor is tastefully chosen to create a very relaxed atmosphere where you can happily spend quiet time. It was a good place to stay and enjoy the surrounding area of Gansbaai. Highly recommend this little retreat for recharging the batteries and resting a while. Will definitely revisit.
