33 guests' feedbackVery nice stay. The farm is 30 min from town, crocodile farm and cheetah experience. Small pool perfect for my 5 and 6 year old kids. Just right for an adult to just sit and chill. Dirt road is just a typical dirt road, never nice. Will definitely use the farmhouse again. Every day a lady came to clean, she is very cute and friendly. The kudus, sheep and pigs were very nice for the children.

It is an absolutely beautiful spot. The cottage (eco-friendly!) was very well equipped, with a large covered veranda and a superb boma area with separate braai. We loved being there, in the nature, far away from the hustle and bustle. We were looked after exceptionally well by Shirley and her staff.

Staff is friendly and very helpful. The host is also wonderful. The kitchen is properly equipped with everything you may need. The kitchen equipment is in excellent condition. My grandchild enjoyed the splash pool. We thoroughly enjoyed the stoep at the accommodation, watching the animals while sitting on the stoep.
What a lovely getaway! The house is nice and spacious and well furnished. There was enough ice in the freezer for the bushveld heat, as well as cold water in the fridge and an extra cool box. There were home-baked biscuits for early morning coffee and chocolates on the table to welcome us. The boma visiting area is well furnished, with grills to choose from, as well as braai wood. It was a lovely break and we would definitely like to visit again.
The road to Rhenosterpoort was a bit bad, but it's worth the effort for what you get on the farm. Mishack met us at the gate and took us to our cottage in the mountains. He was an enormous help. We enjoyed every moment of our stay. Thanks for the cucumbers and tomatoes Shirley!
The sweets, biscuits, coffee, tea etc. were a pleasant addition. We enjoyed it very much.
We had a great time on the farm! Woef enjoyed it just as much. Clean, tidy, everything you need and more. Shirley was the best hostess. Will definitely want to come back when it's nice and warm and we can hang out in the cute splash pool. 5 star!
The house is comfortable and one feels safe. The house is fenced and our dogs could run around safely. We had a nice walk on the farm and enjoyed nature. After all the rain the road was very bad and it is advisable to find out ahead of time if the road has been repaired.

Apart from "swimming pool" which was barely a big tub and was leaking and not even a hot tub. Gas geyser a great challenge but poured cold or boiling hot or cold. Road to location extremely poor, almost 30 km. Green routes for our bikes except stone path. Shirley shouldn't mislead her customers like that, it's weak. We cut our stay short by 3 days.
The walk every day on the farm among the wildlife was something special - you feel like you are in the middle of the forest. Will definitely want to visit again.

Jacques and Shirley's little place in the woods gave us the chance to switch off, rest and have a nice walk all over the farm. We were welcomed with open arms and spoiled with products from the farm. We thoroughly enjoyed the goats and pigs' mannewales. The stone house is very well equipped with more than one needs and the decor is beautiful. Will visit again.
This is the perfect place, for the whole family, to just break away from all the hustle and bustle and enjoy nature. Everything one needs is there, even more. We will definitely go again.
Even before we arrived at Rhenosterpoort, Shirley went out of her way to fulfill our requests. We were welcomed by her and her kindness and helpfulness is contagious! The cottage is perfect for two people - and very romantic. It's cozy and well furnished. Everything you need from cutlery, glasses to even an "air fryer". The lack of cell phone reception was a welcome relief, there is reception at the main house, just ask Shirley. My husband and I couldn't ask for better. We were in our own world and could forget about the worries and stress of city life. The highlight of the weekend - sable bellies, kudus, roebucks and wild boars that come to eat and drink water at the feeding troughs a few meters from the cottage. We were one with nature and also walked up the mountain - which really tested my fitness. The views from up there are breathtaking. We will definitely return in the spring after the first rains.
We had a wonderful rest and visit at Rhenosterpoort. Shirley is an excellent hostess and made us feel at home. It's a treat that the cottage is serviced every day and you can really relax. We had a nice walk and saw beautiful wildlife. We will visit again. Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful stay. Very friendly owners. We were so grateful that our baby yorkie could go with us and that he could enjoy the farm life with us. Perfect getaway. The finest finish and detail gives you a "wow this is beautiful" feeling. 10 out of 10. The animals that come so close to humans make it that much more special.
The nature and surroundings are breathtaking and the accommodation top notch. We travel a lot and Rhenosterpoort is by far the best equipped self-catering unit we have ever stayed in. Clean, tidy, beautiful decor and the friendliest hosts who go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. Don't miss out on this gem.

The accommodation was great - neat, spacious and very well equipped. We really enjoyed it.
It's a fantastic getaway if you want to get away from the city and just be quiet in nature. We were there for the long weekend in September and Shirley our hostess came to pick us up late at night and took us to our little house in the woods. We have two bengal cats who visited us there at the weekend. It was delicious! One can rest properly. The unit is fully equipped with everything one would need. Very very neat with a small private back yard and swimming pool for cooling off. The goats and wild boars come to the unit, and one has a beautiful view of the mountain from the veranda. We've now booked again for November, so we're really looking forward to it!

Except the neighbors' peacock that screams day and night. Cottage is well equipped and comfortable. The owners are very helpful and hospitable. Would love to visit there again. We would highly recommend this destination. Just make sure that if you stay at View Cottage, you own a tall vehicle.
The owners of Rhenosterpoort Farm are very friendly, the View Cottage is beautiful and peaceful. The view is absolutely fantastic, cottage is very comfortably furnished, fireplace is a plus when the evening gets so nippy and the boma for a nice visit around the fire is very nice.
