Rhino Retreat is situated in Clarens, just 1 km from the town centre with various shops, restaurants, attractions, and activities. Accommodation is offered in a self-catering 8-sleeper house which comprises 2 bedrooms on the ground floor, and a downstairs lounge with a sleeper couch for 2.
The main bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed, and has a shower, a bath, and a toilet en-suite. The second bedroom contains 2 single beds and a bunk bed and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, a bath, and a toilet. All linen and towels are provided for up to 8 guests, and additional blankets are available. Each of the rooms is fitted with ceiling fans and the beds with electric blankets, as well as small mobile blower heaters. All rooms open to a patio leading to the garden. A guest toilet is available on the first floor.
The ground floor lounge is situated between the 2 bedrooms, and is furnished with a double sleeper couch, two-seater couch and has a cosy indoor fireplace. There is also an electric fan for the hot summer days. The lounge also opens onto a patio overlooking the lovely garden.
Located on the first floor, the modern kitchen is fully equipped with cutlery and crockery, a gas stove top, an electric oven, a fridge-freezer, a microwave, tea and coffee-making facilities, a Nespresso machine, a water dispenser and a dishwasher.
The lounge is furnished with a comfortable couch and chairs, a fireplace, a TV with an internet connection to access Netflix and YouTube, and complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the home. The living area leads onto a dining area with a 10-seater dining table. There is an electric fan which keeps the area cool in summer. You will find a reading nook in the dining area, where books, puzzles and games are provided for relaxation.
The living area opens onto a covered deck outside with beautiful views, braai facilities and an 8-seater wooden table with bench and chairs. Guests are afforded plenty of secure parking on the premises with a carport for 2 vehicles. Pets are welcome with prior arrangements. There is a beautiful fire pit in the garden area and a fully fenced-in yard with 3 000 m² of space.
An inverter system has been installed to ensure you are not inconvenienced when there is no electricity. It powers the JoJo pump and ignites the geyser. Portable Magneto lights are supplied throughout the house for light during load shedding.
The accommodation is situated a mere 950 m from the vibe of the town centre but secluded enough to offer guests a quiet retreat. With breathtaking views of Mount Horeb and the Maluti Mountains in Lesotho, guests are bound to relax.

20 guests' feedbackWe had a wonderful stay, everything was just perfect. Bev is so helpful, sending every little thing via WP and e-mail. We slept great, we received sherry on our arrival. Nice fireplace that burns with wood for the rest of the weekend for the cold. The house is very nice and clean and received us very kindly. Our girlfriends couldn't get enough of the wonderful house and everything Bev did for us. She suggested all the places where we could eat or visit. See us again for sure. You can't get better than that.
We slept really well. Hey, hey! Beautiful view, very well furnished house with the living area and porch. Rooms are cozy, well furnished and very comfortable, the shower was amazing! We will be having a 'reunion' again next year and will definitely recommend us. Oh, yes, our 2 male children enjoyed it a lot too!

Absolutely one of the best places we have ever stayed. Surprisingly warm in the rooms and lovely deck area for hanging out. Was in constant contact with us and made so much effort to get as much information as possible from the area etc. to share.

Wonderful property, with lots of space for our group of 6 plus 2 dogs. Very clean and all amenities were provided. Maria was there to welcome us and couldn't have done anything more to help us. Lovely location just a few minutes away from the centre and some excellent walks. Would stay again.

Definitely recommend. The service and help from the owners and Maria was excellent. The place is new, fresh and well maintained. Spacious for an entire family or group of people. Large grounds for kids and pets. Has everything for a comfortable and relaxing stay.
