If you are looking for a tranquil off the beaten track stay, this is the place for you. Louise, the host, is an absolute gem; her hospitality is second to none. The surroundings are peaceful and the scenery is breathtakingly beautiful. It truly gives you peace of mind and rest for your soul from the hustle and bustle of the city. I could go on.
This stay was food for the soul, and the views were just breathtaking! It was our first time in the Karoo, and we did not want to leave. We can't wait to visit Ricky's Drift Vegan Farm again. We love the different options of cottages, and we love Ricky and Louise!
This is one of the most beautiful places I have stayed in. The farm is pure Africa, with beautiful views of the mountains and walking trails on the property itself. The hosts are very friendly and helpful, and I could order some food (all vegan in this case) which was plentiful and delicious. I stayed here for 8 days and was sad to leave afterwards. The road is a bit rough to get there, so one has to drive carefully, but one gets used to it and it's no problem.
Nice house in a remote location that suited our needs. Just wish there was wood and that WiFi information was directly available. But it's definitely not for everyone.
Very nice stay, nicest front porch and back porch. Good beds and bedding. Everything has a farm feeling. Beautiful view and the silence is indescribably nice. Hiking trails are very nice, not too easy, but nice view.
There was no mention of an almost a 2 hour drive on a gravel road. They should advise it's a 4x4 terrain to get to accommodation. Our car exhaust got damaged and the motorbike on the trailer also due to the road. We left the accommodation a day earlier due to having the exhaust fix as before the garages close for new year's day. There was nobody to put our complaint to. The town itself was very nice and good food.
What a gem, peace and tranquility at its best!
