No, we didn't. We stayed in a "superior" room. Smelled awful of smoke, bathroom floor dirty, duvet paper thin and walls mouldy. Room never serviced, so cups that remain dirty and wet towels. TV only picks up 2-3 basic channels.

Riebeeck Valley is a very nice hotel, but the room we received is definitely not worth the money. The shower mat is broken, the cold water from the shower can barely turn on, there is a snail on the ceiling and the sink was packed with black bugs. We were told ahead of time that we could take another room, but normally we are happy with what we get. This was unfortunately not the case. I would suggest that every room given to guests is of good quality and there is no need to change rooms. The breakfast was very nice.
Was calm. The place certainly doesn't look like what the pictures suggest. I can't compare the picture above to the place we saw, it doesn't look like that. The site is very wooded, can definitely be renovated. Parking also a problem. Breakfast was delicious.

The hotel is marketed as a 4 star hotel and it is definitely not a 4 star, would hardly be a 3 star. The hotel looks run down and gardens unkempt, neglected, unkempt and photos on website are not a true reflection of condition. We were in room 5 which is a superior room, room is spacious but carpet is not clean, room does not smell good, TV's channels roll and snow, towels worn out and also do not smell good, no fridge in room (4 -star hotel usually has). There is also no one at reception after hours and the after hours number goes directly to voicemail. We also had loadshedding, no flash, lamp, candles in room, only had to use light on mobile phone. Breakfast is nice and included and staff generally very willing to help. We drove early on Sunday morning at 5h00 and there was no one in sight to help although there must be a night porter we could not get him/her to open the gate. Fortunately, the gate was not connected to the car, but this creates a safety risk again, because anyone can enter.
We stayed at Riebeek Valley Hotel. The room was clean and the service was very good and everyone was always friendly. Riebeek Valley Hotel went out of their way to accommodate us and our children. I would definitely suggest this place to friends.

Riebeek Valley Hotel is a lovely old hotel, very pretty and peaceful. The view of the mountains from our room was picturesque. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was included and the other food was delicious. Value for money. Will visit again.

Although we were having a good time, there were places in our room where the paint on the wall chipped, and the shower drain was slightly clogged which caused the water to not run away fast enough.

We stayed in Loft DeLuxe 6 Main House, of which there are no photos on the website. The cleaner has clearly put in a lot of effort, but the room needs some maintenance. The photos on the website were clearly taken quite some time ago and may just need to be updated. The 4 star rating is also a bit confusing. The breakfast was really nice and the farm animals very friendly.

I paid a relatively good price because I booked a far in advance. If I had to pay the usual price I would have been really disappointed. Bath instead of a shower? Small children bathe. In any case, it wastes more water. Linen, really? I'll just expect an overall renovation.
The hotel was easy to find and the breakfast was great, the only problem I had was my room was a bit dirty and also the bed sheets. The air-con also made a noise the whole night that kept me awake. Other than that the hotel is pretty and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Have breakfast and a waiter walks around with a fly swatter killing flies. So many flies. Swimming pool has fish tadpoles and frogs in it. Full of green slime. No bar fridge in the room. And I upgraded to a Superior room as the 1 room we booked was damp and mouldy and dirty.

A tranquil spot surrounded by peaceful gardens and fish that nibble your feet in the natural pool. We didn't even miss the TV that wasn't working. Happy to recommend this “find” to anyone else.

Lovely evening after a wedding in Riebeeck-Kasteel. Quiet, hidden with the sound of birds and holiday to wake you up.
We found the hotel easily. Directions were 100% accurate. Upon arrival we were kindly received. Our room was clean, tidy and very comfortable. There was a problem with their DStv, but the lady who received us and took us to our room immediately informed us that they were having problems. This didn't bother us as we were on our way to a wedding and didn't return until very late in the evening. We slept well and the breakfast the next morning was delicious. There was to choose and choose. If someone gets up from the breakfast table and he/she is still hungry, it is their own fault. There is something for every taste. We definitely recommend the hotel.

The suite was not very clean. Dirty basins, hair in the drain, dirty coffee cup and one creamer, not two, for two people. For a four star hotel it's sub-par. Breakfast was okay. Had to wait for bad tempered staff to bring out the food in phases. Took 30 minutes. Otherwise it's a pleasant area, old hotel with beautiful antiques. Rooms are a bit dated and worn out.

The room was nice and spacious and clean but without the facilities you would expect in a 4 star hotel. No or broken fridge completely empty, no room service, no way to contact reception! The bathroom has seen better days, worn out with one star renovations e.g. the shelf under the mirror was an unfinished board that had been stuck there and the shower door was gone. Parts of hotel are beautiful and it has a lot of potential, but at the moment it is not worth 4 stars.
There was a leak in our bathroom, which was carpeted. It was the cause of a very unpleasant smell. The Wi-Fi also was not working.

The booking was made very quickly with no photos on the website to see what the unit looks like from the inside. I was bitterly disappointed when the owner checked us in and said we should come back next time, because tonight we have a "budget room". Of course I was then disappointed in how the farmhouse rooms looked from the inside. I only saw later that the farmhouse was not graded. I feel it is very misleading to advertise a place as 4 stars and only mention in the fine print that the rooms are not rated. Next time I will pay more attention to photos of the place where I intend to stay, but I am not interested in the "budget rooms" of Riebeek Vallei Hotel. The WiFi does not catch on in the "budget rooms" either. I also wonder how many times a year the carpets in the farmhouse are steam cleaned. Carpets in a bathroom?

We were received very kindly and escorted to our rooms. Since we were staying in the newer part, the entrance to it was explained, as well as the hours and type of breakfast of the next morning. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and tidy. Sunday morning's breakfast surprised me. Apart from the fact that it was tasty and nicely presented, it compares well with breakfast from a 4-star hotel in Seepunt where I stayed a while ago. The staff who were on duty during breakfast behave briskly and actively. I would definitely stay there again if needed.

It was lovely to stay there. The hotel is not very neat but everything was convenient. I saw that we were placed in a sub-standard room. I am not sure if we payed for this room. There was a notice on the door that this room and a couple others don't fall under the hotel's grading. The electricity went off that night and there were no candles or torches in the room. Other wise it was nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
I was very excited to visit this hotel because of the pictures. But I was utterly disapponted about when I saw what it looks like in reality.
The hotel is totally worn out. Needs urgent repair work. Not at all comparable to the photos on their website. Staff without uniforms and toilet dirty. We checked in and after looking around decided to check out right away! Would definitely not recommend the hotel.
