At Rietfontein Self Care we enjoyed the space and silence outside every day with our busy children. Among other things, Joseph showed the boys where to find scorpions in the cups. We could play ball on the lawn. A refreshing absence from the city's distractions, gives space for time with each other, board games and the admiration of nature created by God.
Had an amazing time on the farm. The silence is deafening and the hospitality of both was incredible. It was absolutely the ideal getaway from the city and incredibly enjoyable family time without interruption.
Quiet, safe, clean and tidy and very friendly welcome. Will use again when traveling in the area again.

Excellent and enjoyable.
We were looking for a value for money one night stay for our trip to Cape Town and Rietfontein did not disappoint. Joseph and Ilze received us hospitably and made us feel very much at home and we thoroughly appreciated the tranquility of the Karoo after a long day on the road. The dirt road between Leeu Gamka and the farm is also in good condition for those wondering.
Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The farm overlooks the beautiful Karoo landscape with kilometers of wilderness to explore.
Lovely, quiet place to stay, very nice and homely. Feel right at home and welcome. Joseph and Ilse go out of their way to make accommodation as comfortable as possible, given the challenges with loadshedding. Whatever is necessary. Fans, load shedding lights, delicious homemade Karoo sausage for sale to grill. And cool swimming pool a lovely escape after a long drive and hot day.
We will definitely visit here again.

Rietfontein is a real karoo farm with a friendly host and hostess. Very quiet and peaceful. There was everything one could need and we were able to share the karoo experience with the owner and his wife. Will definitely stay there again.
Could be the best getaway you could ever need. I was 100% satisfied and will definitely go back again. But this time for a week.
We always wanted to visit the Karoo and get a proper Karoo experience. When we arrived at Rietfontein we had no idea how astonishing the Karoo experience would be. I highly recommend it, we most definitely will be back.
Would have liked to know that the unit is right next to/opposite the main house and not detached or elsewhere on the farm. Hosts very friendly and helpful.
