We were highly impressed with our stay at Rietjiesbos! We were personally welcomed on our arrival, and greeted again on our departure by Valerie and her husband. The location is prime in town, secure parking behind a controlled gate, and the unit was exactly what we wanted; a bed with sheets and a thin blanket and not just the horrible duvets that everyone suffocates under in the summer! A small kitchen with a not too small fridge, and a beautiful spacious bathroom with a lovely shower which is semi open plan with the sleeping area! This guest house owner certainly understands the need of a one-night overnight traveler on his way from or on his way to the lovely South Cape!

What wonderful hosts. It's not easy traveling with a 3-year-old and 5-year-old, however, this place was perfect for our family. Close to a Spar (walking distance) to get snacks for the kids. The rooms had everything you needed. The hosts were knowledgeable and helpful.

We stayed overnight at Rietjiesbos when we traveled back to Pretoria from Cape Town. We got there in the afternoon after a long day on the road, so the lovely bath and extremely comfortable bed was just what we needed. The room and en suite bathroom were beautiful and had everything we could possibly need. The only bad thing for us was that we were on our way again early the next morning and couldn't stay longer. Next time we go to the Cape again we will definitely stay at Rietjiesbos again, but this time we will probably sleep there for a few nights.

Our room was tidy and the bed very comfortable. There is a beautiful garden in the courtyard. Unfortunately, the room walls are not very soundproof. Our neighbors were not noisy, but it can be funny if you accidentally hit it. Valerie is a friendly, helpful hostess. If this is important to travelers, they should note that breakfast is not offered at Rietjiesbos on Sunday mornings. Ask Valerie for pointers to restaurants that do offer it on Sundays.

Rietjiesbos is a jewel in the middle of a lovely Karoo town. The owners are smiling people with a sparkle in their eyes and one cannot but feel home and safe as soon as one arrives. Rietjiesbos is a stunning guest house, not a thing out of place and nice little patio where you can appreciate the view of the beautiful garden. Friendly reception by Valerie, the host. All information about local activities and eateries area provided in file in room. We will stay nowhere else in Graaff-Reinet.

Rietjiesbos is nothing short of excellent. It is located in the quieter part of Bourke Street, but still no more than a stone's throw from the town centre. The rooms are more than comfortable and very nicely furnished. One feels more than at home, just special. Valerie is hospitable and kind and she went out of her way to find us a place to eat at her own expense (Polka, which was again excellent). The breakfast was again top notch. We are definitely going to stay there again soon, just for two nights so that we can see the town a bit and we highly recommend this accommodation.

I was travelling on my own as a young guy and I really enjoyed my stay at Rietjiesbos B&B. Even though I only stayed there for one night, I slept like a rose after an awesome night-drive in the Camdeboo National Park that the owners suggested me to do. The room was decorated in a modern style and was therefore nice and fresh. I wish I had a bathroom like theirs at my own place. The breakfast was great and their garden is beautifully filled with flowers and herbs. With the sun shining in the morning I could really enjoy just a coffee on the veranda of my room, watching the garden, mountains and birds while having a nice chat with the owners.
Can also be used for business travel, well located, friendly and good service, nice interior and clean, beautiful town, lots to see, especially the National Park - nice visit!
