Lovely and peaceful place to stay after a long day's journey on the road. Information was also fully communicated via WhatsApp and the 'pin' certainly helped a lot to get to the farm without any problems. A lot of attention was given to small things, such as milk in the fridge, biscuits, etc.
What an experience. Karoo places tranquility. Add to that a nice farm cottage, which is tastefully furnished and equipped, and it feels like a farm house, not like just another overnight place. And then add a friendly hostess, and the most delicious lamb chops. Then I feel like I'd rather stay here than just overnight! This will become my regular stop if I ever have to travel back to the Cape from PTA again!

I must have been spoiled with the firewood which is always regular, but this time I had to do some digging and scraping. The Karoo spoiled us with wonderful clouds and thunder. It was special.

It gives one the impression of farm life and what it is like on the farm. The tranquility and natural beauty cannot be described. The rustling of the wind through the eucalyptus leaves was very noticeable and gives you peace of mind, as if nature is talking to you. One can see the stars so beautifully in the evening which is really something from another world for city people. Definitely recommended if you love nature and want some peace and quiet before you hit the busy roads the next morning. The owners are very friendly and make an effort to come and say hello and ask if everything is okay.

The owner was incredibly accommodating in terms of allowing us to amend our booking numerous times, as we experienced major hassles with our removals company and so needed to amend our schedule accordingly. The cottage was spotlessly clean, wood was made available for a braai, the rooms were very comfy and the kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering. Rated the location as 4 stars only because the dirt road might not be to everyone's 'taste' but we had no issues (in a bakkie and SUV) and we like remote spots! Unfortunately, we weren't able to meet the owners as they were away for the weekend, but they have a self-check-in system so it wasn't an issue. Highly recommended for either an en route short stay or for a few days (we would have loved to have explored the farm a little more and will definitely book in there when travelling through the area again).

I arrived late (21:00) at an easy-to-find location, warm food was waiting and everything in its place and working as it should. Great dinner! I felt really safe. The insect gauze at opening windows and front door is a winner! And will stay over at Rietpoort Guesthouse anytime again in the future.

Through my travels and stays at various guest houses around the country, this was probably one of the best I have come across. Here is a guest house that offers good value for money to a weary traveller. The luxury is unheard of for this kind of price and the enjoyment of the farm and stars to be seen make this my favorite of our recent tour where we travel to 4 different guesthouses over almost 3000km. The WiFi was excellent and unexpected on such a farm.

The unit is well equipped and very tidy. Perfect place for an overnight stay (as in our case) but can see that a long weekend or a week's break would be just as nice. We were so pleasantly surprised with the gem we discovered in the heart of the Karoo. We were welcomed by a cold air conditioned room, which is really pleasant in the hot place. The guesthouse has everything you need to stay as family. The host goes extra miles to make guests feel at home. Besides, there is a family pool and WiFi to use freely.
The house is right out of a Karoo fairy tale. Very well equipped and lovely soft duvet and warm blankets. Would recommend anyone to stay there, it was lovely.

Because Rietpoort guest house is on a farm, the management provides for everything that may be needed - from mosquito repellant to ice cold drinks in the fridge! The cottage is fully and tastefully furnished; even a stove in the kitchen. Thank you very much, Didi, for the delicious Karoo barbecue packages and especially tasty salads. Thanks to the air conditioning and roof fans, we slept soundly. We felt safe on the farm, it wasn't even necessary to take the bikes down and store them inside. After many years of sleeping over in different towns, lodges, hotels and self-catering accommodation in the Karoo, I think we have found a place where we will also stick.
We will definitely stay overnight at Rietpoort again and again, if we were to move in that direction. Definitely value for money and we enjoy the fact that the place is out of town.

Didi, the hostess was very friendly and accommodating with our 2 Schnauzers. The play of their children on the farm was wonderful to see. The accommodation offers everything and then more. This is now our place to stay in Britstown - no doubt.

We had a friendly reception that makes you feel welcome immediately. It is the ideal overnight guest house from the Cape back inland. Everything was very neat and clean. I will definitely make this guest house my halfway stop again. It is located nice and far from the main road and therefore dead quiet. Luckily it was a dark moon, I really enjoyed the pitch blackness. We bought some of the local products. I'm sorry I didn't buy a lot more. The braai packets and olives are delicious. The farm house is rusty as expected, but it met our expectations. Didi, the host, was very friendly and welcomed us with open arms. We had a ball of a time even if it was only for one night. There is air-conditioning, jungle gym for the kids plus a trampoline my wife liked and a pool. Even though the farm is out of town, we still had signal. The 7 km gravel road from the main road might be a battle for normal cars, but would be a breeze for any SUV. We will definitely stay there again!

Peaceful farm setting away from the hustle and bustle of the city. All our needs were met, even a small cash bar in the cottage. Would highly recommend this guest house.
The directions to the guest house from the main route could be improved. The dirt road is in poor condition, fortunately only a 7 km drive. However, we were contacted by the owner Didi before our stay and provided with clear directions. We were also aware that the last 7 km is dirt road, that's why we chose a farm destination. Our house no. 2 was beautiful. It was a particularly hot day (38 degrees) and the air conditioning in the front room was wonderful. However, the rooms were uncomfortably hot which made it very difficult to sleep. The roof fans only mixed the hot air and provided no cooling. Air cooling in the bedrooms would be great. We got a delicious cooked meal! It was very pleasant after 3 weeks of roasting meat! However, the cupcakes for dessert were the highlight! We also had a nice swim to cool off. Thank you very much Didi and Gerhard, we had a great time.

The place is really beautiful. We were pleasantly surprised. We were tired from driving and the nearest place to eat is in Britstown which was about 20 km back on our way. Will definitely stay there again with takeaway or meat for a nice barbecue. Would definitely recommend it.

After a long way from Pretoria this was the oasis we needed. The late November heat was broken with the air conditioner in the house, and the attention the owners gave to so many small things was noticed and appreciated. One immediately feels at home. Everything was beautifully clean and a pleasure to use anything. A late-night bonus glass of sherry ended the evening well before we slept very well under the crisp linen. Thank you very much, hopefully we can make a visit there again. The only criticism is the very limited bouquet available on the DStv channel, but you don't come here to watch TV. However, a sensible extra service would be WiFi.

As an out of town stop-over, Rietpoort is an ideal location. Quite, old farm style house with all the amenities. It is a lovely place to stay at.
We only arrived at the unit that evening after 8:00 p.m., where everything was ready for our arrival. The silence, tranquility and starry splendor was a pleasant surprise for me as a city dweller. The unit was neat, spacious and exactly what we needed after a long day's journey from the Cape. The air conditioning and screen covers in front of the windows were a bonus. I have already recommended Rietpoort to friends, and will stay there again in the future.
Braking suits too expensive. Shower head in cottage 2 not working well.
The detail in the cottage was very special - from the smallest heart to the set table. We felt so special and it's a shame that we only slept there for one night. We will definitely visit again!

This cottage has 2 bedrooms. The main bedroom has a queen-sized bed and the second bedroom has 3 single beds. Two beautifully decorated cottages offer real old-world-atmosphere with stink wood and antique furniture. Each cottage consists of a kitchenette, lounge/living area, bathroom with both a shower and bath, and 2 Bedrooms. Crisp white linen, feather duvets with fresh towels to make your stay even more comfortable. Our cottages are private and fully equipped for self-catering purposes. Cottages have Wi-Fi on offer with TV viewing Netflix.
Everyday amenities such a fireplace to keep you warm in the winter months, or air conditioning in the living area for those hot summer months as well as fans and heaters in our bedrooms. Great spot for winding down after a long day on the road or your first stop over on the way to your final destination. Braai facilities are also available with firewood to purchase.
