90 guests' feedbackLovely old hotel. Rooms are well set up. Delightful staff, very helpful and friendly. Delicious dinner in the restaurant. A very peaceful spot.
I love the hotel! Will always be my first choice.
Stunning hotel, John welcomed us personally and made us feel at home. They make the most delicious boerewors and satays.
Rooms are comfortable, clean and tidy. Patensie itself is nicely clean and maintained. Staff are very helpful and hospitable.
We had an incredibly nice stay. Everything had been perfect. Would 100% stay there again. I come from that world actually and it was so nice to go back.
It was lovely and great value for money. The room was clean and the shower was hot with great pressure.
Great fun. Must be an experience when citrus trees are in bloom.
It's an old-style hotel. The service was friendly, although unfortunately, we stayed on a Saturday evening and no breakfast is available on Sundays. The empty corridors are rather echoey, and the visitors to the bar (or rather their children) were a bit loud. The food was good, and the waitress charming.
We took a tour of the nature reserve and spent the night in the Ripple Hill Hotel. The hotel was an experience with all its historical furniture etc. The room was beautiful, neat and very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and the food was absolutely top notch. The service we received was wonderful, the reception was very friendly and prompt and we were able to take a nice shower and rest for our return trip to Colesberg.
Delicious food. Clean and tidy.
It was a nice overnight stop for us. Food was nice too. No problems with Ripple Hill Hotel.
TV would be nice in the evening.
Ripple Hill lived up to all expectations, thank you.
The area is great. If we were to go back, I would find a self-catering in the area.
Thank you very much for the swift and prompt service and for making the stay with you such a pleasant experience. Will definitely visit again.
Very helpful staff. Nothing was a problem. Facilities particularly clean and tidy.
Beautiful stay. Nice wooden floors. Clean, neat, warm bedding. The door does not go all the way to the top, so the noise from the other rooms and our noise, travels far and can be disturbing.
Nice stay. Eat well. Nice setup. Nice restaurant.
The drive through Baviaanskloof takes a long time. We chose a place to sleep close to the gorge to travel on from there the next day.
After a very hot day trip through the Bavian, Ripple Hill hotel was a relief. Despite loadshedding, we were able to find something cold to drink and eat. Nice clean, spacious rooms with en-suite and aircon!
Friendly welcome and lovely clean room after a long day on the road. Restaurant offers delicious meals.
It was delicious. We enjoyed it very much. Place was nice clean and friendly staff. We had a great time and slept.
Ripple Hill is beautifully restored, neat and clean with friendly staff and excellent food. Room with en suite bathroom is spacious and modern with a good bed. The old-fashioned charm and feel of the hotel has been preserved, while still adapting to modern times.
Quaint boutique hotel that harks back to the colonial style which is so elegant and homely. Staff go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Delicious breakfast.
It is a clean, welcoming facility. The owner is very helpful and friendly. For the environment, this hotel is a recommendable overnight facility.
Lovely garden and surroundings.
We really enjoyed our stay at Ripple Hill hotel. We can really recommend staying at the hotel with its comfortable well-equipped rooms. When we travel to Patensie again we will definitely stay at Ripple Hill hotel.
Breakfast and meals very good. No TV in rooms.
Secure parking will be appreciated. On a previous visit there was a gate behind which parking could be done behind the hotel.
Well maintained and cute little hotel and the dinner was excellent.
It was a gem in a small special town, incredibly beautiful surroundings. The hotel offers real steak house dishes made me long for days under Spir and Co. The room was stunningly redone - really tasteful, the modern with a touch of antiquity. Really special. What was striking was the beautiful pure Afrikaans spoken by staff who served us, something special.
Will definitely come again, very nice food.
I absolutely did not look at the location of this place. It was too far from the beach. It should be sold as an oasis in a small town.
It was unexpectedly very tasty. We expected regular hotel, but the hotel is off the books. Staff friendly and very helpful.
Campers and city dwellers will be stressed about the street parking. However, you soon realize that Patensie is a safe place. Your car is safe. Now you can enjoy the hotel. Rooms are comfortable and clean, food was very good. They were willing to serve us breakfast at seven o'clock so that we could hit the road early. Good value for money.
When my husband and I need a getaway, Ripple Hill Hotel will always be our first choice. The reception is always friendly and welcoming. The rooms are very spacious and well furnished. The bedding is cozy and clean.
Ripple Hotel is an old style hotel with a nice bar and nice restaurant, the price is good with many options to choose from which makes it worth the money.
We were really kindly received. Ripple Hill has been very nicely redone and is very neat and clean. Linen, pillows and beds are of good quality. Restaurant has a good menu and reasonable prices. We ate deliciously. Despite being fully booked with wedding guests and quite a few locals attending, the service was still up to standard. Will stay there again. Feel free to support them. The next day I drove the Bavian and asked for a packed lunch. They went to the trouble and arranged one at a local paddock who delivered it the night before - was lovely.
We found everything comfortable.
As a place to sleep, extremely suitable. Excellent service. Rooms spacious and clean. Very nice bathrooms. Would recommend anytime.
We were well looked after by the manager who assisted us when needed. The room was comfortable and warm. Wi-Fi worked well. Food was average but breakfast was below expectations. Rather have breakfast at Tolbos or Padlangs. However, all things considered this was good value for money.
Rooms are neat and convenient. WiFi is also fast in the rooms. Dinner was delicious.
Everything you need at an affordable price.
Very good service and hospitality. Also went the extra mile to accommodate my requests.
The wooden floor and beautiful old furniture really stole my heart. Everything was neat and the service was very good.
After the super long Baviaanskloof, the Ripple Hill Hotel is the perfect destination. Neat and clean with very friendly staff. The town is especially beautiful in season.
Food and accommodation was excellent. Fantastic service and waiters.
Vriendelike mense, lieflike, gemaklike, huislike verblyf, heerlike kos!
We had the most amazing stay at Ripple Hill. The staff were so welcoming, helpful and friendly. The food was delicious, everything about the place was first class.
Now this was one of the biggest surprises: a hotel that feels like you are staying at someone's home without intruding on your privacy. John does an excellent job of the exquisite restoration of this institution in a town in a beautiful valley. Old world charm with modern, yet sensitive furnishings. Very good value for money and the staff are skilled, friendly and very helpful. Food is excellent. We were lucky to sleep over on a Wednesday, with fresh fish available. Feel free to make the effort and next time turn off here on the N2 for a stopover between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, or to explore the many attractions in the area. Will definitely visit again.
I would recommend the Ripple Hill to everyone. The atmosphere is old world. The rooms are very tastefully furnished and the decor is unique to each room. The beds sleep very comfortably and the bedding is cozy. The menu has a wide selection of flavorful dishes. If you haven't stayed at the Ripple Hill Hotel yet, feel free to stop by.
We will definitely recommend the hotel. It is very neat and beautiful.
Food was delicious at the restaurant. Adjoining rooms not very sound so woke up by people across from us and next to us.
Very friendly reception at hotel. Outstanding service and the room was very neat.
The hospitality and accommodation were of high quality. Availability of coffee in the rooms was greatly appreciated. The hotel itself has a nice atmosphere with delicious food! The hotel is also close to other attractions in Patensie.
Thank you, we slept wonderfully, we received a warm welcoming and were very impressed with the tidiness and very clean room and bathroom. First class food food and service in the restaurant. I would definitely advise people to stopover or even stay longer at Ripple Hill Hotel if they want to explore Baviaanskloof.
We were pleasantly surprised by this place. It was clean and convenient, we felt safe and the food was delicious. We will definitely be returning.
The hotel is very neat overall. The room is spacious and the decor very stylish. The bedroom is designed well and enough towels are provided. The room and bedroom are both very clean. We will definitely stay there again.
I will recommend the Ripple Hill Hotel for over night or longer accommodation. It is very neat and clean with a nostalgic feeling. The food and service is excellent. The bar is lively with locals. I will definitely go out of my way to stay there again.
The decor was of the time of what we expected from Patensie.
Really a nice surprise. Typical countryside with friendly and nice poeple. Rooms with spacious bathrooms. Stunning shining wooden floors in passage. Will definitely go back!
A welcome surprise after a long journey. Ice cold beer, best fish and chips ever, and cool comfortable room. What more can one ask for?
Very neat and clean, comfortable room with beautiful decor.
The service was pleasant and the staff very helpful. The food was fantastic and very well prepared. The rooms were neat with everything you need for an overnight stay. I have travelled a lot and stayed in many hotels in my life and Ripple Hill doesn't have to back down for the Southern Sun's of this world. Thanks for a pleasant stay.
Only problem was the safety of cars. Otherwise there are no complaints about the accommodation.
Although we didn't make use of the restaurant, the rooms was very comfortable and neat with everything we needed. The service was also very good. We attended a family wedding in the area and the location of the hotel suited us very well.
Although the room was tidy, the room reeked of smoke when we arrived. The woman who received us was surly and curt - did not feel welcome at all. Other than that it was quite acceptable.
For an overnight stay, everything you need is there and it's tidy.
The hotel is located in the town(s) Patensie. I can find NO fault - stayed in a lovely well equipped room. Delicious meal in the restaurant and certainly the friendliest service I have experienced in a long time. My comfortable accommodation contributed 100% to a wonderful weekend visit. Will definitely stay there again when I visit!
Kamers was ruim en mooi skoon. Baie vriendelike diens van werkers. Kos was uitstekend en baie goed geprys.
We were received a friendly reception and excellent service. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. Can recommend them.
If I can give one piece of criticism, it's that there should be a TV available for guests. There is only one TV in the bar and we kind of missed it.
Friendly, even the staff.
This is an old style hotel, restored and modernized extensively. The result is a homely and comfortable hotel with good food and service. The directions to the hotel can be improved.
We never made our booking due to an accident. But the establishment was so nice as to allow us to change our booking to a later date. We will definitely make use of it at the end of the year. Thanks for your call to find out if we were OK.
Plank floors creak when your fellow guests walk past your room and the bathroom is located across the hall. The very reasonable price, cleanliness and old-fashioned grace of the establishment make it worth the effort.
Nice peaceful break for me and my wife.
We only stayed one night. The meal was good and the people very friendly and helpful. Just a pity that the bathrooms had to be shared.
I had a wonderful stay. I was lucky to be able to get a room with an outside door - I could pull my vehicle right in front of my room which made packing and unpacking easier. I will definitely stay here again if I'm in the area. The restaurant's service was also very good.
Simple and good service. Will go there again.
Value for money. Rooms nice and tidy. Restaurant food from the top shelves!
It was very nice for us to stay there. Good food, friendly service, especially Crystal. I would stay there again. Beautiful old world style. The whole community came to visit and eat there on Friday evening. That says a lot.
It was a wonderful, relaxing experience. My room was clean and nice, and my bed was wonderfully comfortable. The food was unbeatable and the packed lunch we got was really value for money. I would recommend the Ripple Hill Hotel to anyone.
Will stay there again anytime. Lovely service, beautiful people, hospitable. Can't wait for the next Naartjie festival at Loerie. Those people know how to celebrate!
I was originally skeptical on arrival about the area, but from the moment we stepped into the hotel we immediately felt at home and safe - spacious and tidy room with the most delicious food and overall value for money.
The Ripple Hill Hotel is well located at the entrance to the Bavian Kloof. The rooms and linen are very clean.
Lovely atmosphere and everything was nice and clean from the room, bathroom and other areas. We had friendly staff assisting us and they made sure our good breakfast was on time.
Our room had nowhere to hang clothes, but was clean and the bed was comfortable. The food in the restaurant was very good, and the staff friendly
