Wonderful stay at Riva Resort which feels like a farm with all the animals, water and the distance from the town. Very quiet at night and the geese wake you up in the morning. Joey is an excellent hostess who regularly checks to see if you need anything while you relax at the restaurant serving delicious food! The room is spacious and the aircon a pleasure! Everything is sparkling clean in the en suite room!
We enjoyed the silence.
Will definitely want to visit Riva again during the summer period and see more of the mighty Orange River and surrounding attractions.

The restaurant on site is not open on Mondays. Everything had been in business units. Thanks again, had a great sleep there.
Very nice stay. The only suggestion I would make is that there are lights if it is loadshedding, because it is very dark.
Well slept and peaceful, but maintenance is needed. The unit we were in, the TV as well as the outside lights did not work, and the kettle only boiled when it wanted to. Although we indicated that we would eat in the restaurant that evening, there was no room inside and they wanted us to sit outside. preparation for a function the next day. Did make room inside later. What we wanted to order from the menu was not in stock and we had to settle for something else.
Warmly received by Peter. Staff are very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Joey (not allowed to say aunt) spoiled us with delicious sandwiches and a cold treat for the throat. The chat made us feel like we were family. Peter spoiled us with the most delicious breakfast and the food was perfect. When we left we were just sad to go. We were given sandwiches and fruit for road food on departure. Vlakkie the warthog, came to say hello every morning and it felt like we were back on the farm. Very nice and peaceful atmosphere and will definitely stay there again. It was really fun and people are awesome. The place to stay was nice and clean. Peter even brought us a battery and lighter during load shedding. You don't find thoughtfulness just anywhere.

Riva Resort is a recommended place to spend the night. It's clean, tidy and very spacious for one person.
We booked for 2 people but they only prepared for 1. Kitchen equipment and bathroom supplies were for 1 person only. Free WiFi, but the WiFi password is missing in chalet. Kitchen sink leaks a lot, 1 power point in kitchen out of order, kitchen equipment inadequate for a "self catering" chalet, bedside table handle is off. Peter, on reception, was an absolute star and went out of his way to accommodate our needs. Thanks, Peter!
Beautiful, practical place with so much potential, but unfortunately cleanliness and beauty lack attention, kitchen lacks certain items and the stray cats create an unwelcome situation.
Beautiful, neat, comfortable, spacious chalets with everything you need and more. Excellent service from the staff. Requests were addressed immediately. Location is conveniently close to Upington.
Room was clean and well equipped. Facilities well looked after and comfortable. Food was very nice.
Noise from the restaurant was not acceptable, could not sleep until 2 in the morning.
We stayed there in 2020, but it seems that there is not much maintenance done on the houses/rooms. We found our room dirty and dusty. The staff made up for concerns we had! Lovely food and lovely company!
A guest checked us in. People of Upington are very hospitable. Very neat and clean. Place overall needs some attention and better management, but overall very nice stay. Staff are helpful.
We just stayed overnight on our way back from Namibia and left early again. So there was no time to view the area. We were very grateful for air conditioning which we were able to heat up to make the unit comfortable on a very cold evening. The mattress also slept great. The kitchenette's contents are the absolute minimum and neglected and detract from the otherwise comfortable unit. The WiFi details were not available in the unit and it was too late to inquire about them.
We spent the night with our children. It was very nice. The rooms were just not completely clean. Not in bad condition, could just be a little cleaner.

Lovely place. Been there 10 times and it's always nice. Management may be able to please older people. put a bench or a few chairs by the pool.

What a gem among the dunes. We booked the family room. Both rooms are nice and big, the kitchen has enough space. Thank goodness there is aircon, it kept us nice and cool. We had a great barbecue on the private deck. Our place was cleaned daily by a very friendly lady who also put in fresh towels. Pieter and Joey are certainly customer-oriented. We were carried on our hands. Pieter is a real asset and he knows what he is doing for sure. We cooled off in the pool. Without the restaurant we would not have survived. It is so nice to sit there on the deck and drink something very cold from a glass that Joey takes out of the freezer. Our drinks didn't get hot soon. The food was delicious. And the braai packets are an excellent idea. It's really fun with all the animal sounds. From the dog, cats, warthog, potbellies, sheep, llamas, springbok to the variety of birds. And of course you can walk down to the river. It was really very nice.
Our stay was nice. Could have a nice barbecue and restaurant food is also very good. Place is spacious, AC is great in Northern Cape heat!

Was there for a wedding and stayed over the whole weekend. The wedding was well organized and very beautiful, the rooms were nice and clean. Would go again anytime. Unexpectedly, we had many visitors with warthogs, meerkats, goats, swans etc. who was on the premises. Was truly a pleasant surprise.

Knives and forks were broken. Curtain rails were broken. We couldn't buy wood. View from our unit was deplorable.
