21 guests' feedbackWe had such a nice stay, were here for the 2nd time and will definitely come again. We caught 29 fish in the river as well as the pond. Nice healthy fish.
Accommodation is exceptional, but the road and lots are not so fantastic.
The place is made to rest. The fishing is top notch and Uncle Angus' advice on the best places to fish was great. Elvinbrook does lack something - a comfortable couch for two.
There is a long dirt road to drive, but if it is well maintained it feels like you are driving into another world. If it is rest, quiet and peace that you are looking for, this is for sure the right place! The house was tastefully decorated and sparkling clean. Treats like delicious biscuits and a whole container of chocolate! Enough little blankets to snuggle in front of the fireplace and what a great idea to have electric blankets on the beds. The most beautiful view everywhere you look and so much space to walk.
The place was the same as shown on the website, it's a good place for a spiritual retreat and for those who need to disconnect from the world.
No signal, beautiful surroundings, had special family time, just what one needs.
We will book again for sure. The children really enjoyed the river. The stoep with the braai area is very comfortable and has a wonderful view of the river. The most beautiful sunrise and sunset. The house is very comfortable, clean and equipped with everything you need. Jenny and Angus received us kindly. The fish were a bit shy to bite (at least got one), but I must add that the river was a bit low. A nice place for family and friends to break away and catch their breath.
Well, Aunt Jenny and Uncle Angus welcomed us with open arms. The unit was nice and clean and everything you could want and more. The fireplace, outdoor grill and bench by the river was a plus. My wife and I really enjoyed it and just want to go back. Really amazing star sightings, wildlife and if you like fly-fishing this is your place.
Beautiful piece of earth from God's creation!
Very neat, very private, beautiful view, spacious home.
One of the most beautiful places we have ever been. Breathtaking scenery. Can highly recommend it.
Had a great time and the accommodation, surroundings with the river and fishing were out of the books! Angus, Jenny and their team go out of their way to make it an unforgettable experience.
The only thing that needs some attention are the mattresses. Very squeaky and noisy. The kitchen didn't have any dish cloths, and some utensils can be added. Otherwise, spectacular views and surroundings!
It's a fairytale-beautiful setting with the river that can keep anyone, child or adult, busy for hours! The house is extremely spacious with a very nice open-plan living room, massive fireplace and incredible view from the spacious veranda. Lots of wildlife seen not too far from home. We will go again.
We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our stay. The silence, scenery and sound of the rippling water was like manna for the soul. The chalet was absolutely well appointed and very spacious. Just need to take food and clothes with you. We can't wait to visit again. Rivendell is highly recommended. Many thanks to Jenny and Anchus for your hospitality.
There are few places like Rivendell, the place is clean, great fun and very luxurious. Cleaning service is included, friendly and excellent service provided. Regardless of our not-so-good weather it was a great place to be, rough weather and all, we still caught fish, Uncle Angus and his wife really care about their customers and especially that customers and their children should be able to enjoy fish from everything available. There are definitely plenty of fish and we will definitely be going back in a month or two to catch them. Well done uncle Angus and wife - thank you very much for everything.
We would go back any day, very friendly service and it was very clean and tidy. It was really special to rest in such beautiful surroundings, we will trout catch and recommend the walk for sure. Very nice place to go with friends who love the outdoors or your family.
There is no WiFi available but the visit was very nice.
Value for money accommodation! A place that I will visit again.
We had such a nice stay. We were at Hobiton. The house is very stylish and neat and has everything you need to cook. There was also rusks and nougat. Nature is beautiful and we could rest well. The river water is clean so you can see the fish beautifully, which helps with the fishing. We can't wait to come again.
Absolute heaven! Quiet, beautiful, peaceful! Nature at it's best! Fishing was excellent! The river is clean. Will definitely go back! One of the best things was that there was no TV! Family time at its best! We all enjoyed it! From the teenagers to our 4 year old!
